00:00You get the best of both worlds.
00:04Chill it out, take it slow,
00:06and then you rock out the show.
00:08Welcome to Ms. Mojo,
00:10and today we're looking at the best themes
00:12from shows on Disney Channel.
00:14We're including shows that initially aired on different channels,
00:16like Disney XD,
00:18as long as they have been shown on Disney Channel as well.
00:20So drop them tails.
00:22So drop tails.
00:26Number 30. Tailspin theme.
00:28Tailspin. This underrated series
00:30takes the Jungle Book characters you know
00:32and transports them into a mid-20th century
00:34world of aircraft adventures.
00:36The intro features various clips
00:38highlighting the show's swashbuckling premise.
00:40Although short on lyrics,
00:42its main tune evokes a true sense of fun.
00:54The theme carries a playful, festive atmosphere,
00:56firing up viewers to prepare
00:58for the encounters Baloo and his sidekick
01:00Kit will have in the episode.
01:02Like our heroes, the song makes us want to
01:04glide through the clouds because of how much fun
01:06Tailspin makes it seem.
01:08And it's hard not to go
01:10with them either.
01:16Number 29. Lab Rats main theme.
01:18Lab Rats.
01:20Few songs introduce the show's premise as bluntly
01:22as Lab Rats does.
01:24Feigning a darker theme in the opening voiceover,
01:26main character Leo interjects
01:28with a wacky question.
01:30The next generation of the human race is
01:32living in my basement?
01:34This kickstarts the theme song, which goes harder
01:36than you'd expect from a family comedy series.
01:38With a consistent beat all the way through,
01:40the instrumental has a headbanging
01:42quality that remains consistent
01:44across all four seasons.
01:54Its visuals
01:56evolve each year as the show's young cast
01:58ages. The final season
02:00alters the formula further, leaving
02:02no doubt of its superhero premise.
02:04If you want to get in the action-packed groove,
02:06look no further than this theme.
02:14Number 28.
02:16Live in Life with Derek.
02:18Life with Derek. Previous generations
02:20had the Brady Bunch, but kids in the
02:222000s had Life with Derek.
02:24The Canadian sitcom aired on Disney Channel
02:26in the United States and depicted the life
02:28of a blended family with five kids.
02:30Its theme song has among the most
02:32earworm potential out there.
02:44The entire number is oldest daughter
02:46Casey's narration of the events that led to her
02:48family merging with Derek's. Also
02:50similar to the Brady Bunch, each season's
02:52theme song is updated to reflect the young cast's
02:54aging.
03:00While it's certainly cheesy in places,
03:02you can't get the cheerful, cheeky song
03:04out of your head once you've heard it.
03:12Number 27.
03:14Cusco Academy. The Emperor's New School.
03:16Anyone who's seen The Emperor's New Groove
03:18knows just how self-absorbed
03:20Cusco is, so it probably comes as
03:22no surprise he makes The Emperor's New School
03:24theme all about himself. He even
03:26makes sure to remind us before playing the intro.
03:38The song is pretty much a glorification
03:40of the protagonist, repeatedly telling
03:42us just how awesome Cusco is,
03:44with cheerleaders spelling out his name mid-song.
03:46Cusco is fully aware
03:48that he's the main character.
03:54Still, it's this level of perhaps misplaced
03:56confidence that endears fans to Cusco in the
03:58first place. We also get a reminder of
04:00some of the other colorful characters in the intro.
04:02But don't worry, it has us spelling
04:04K-U-Z-C-O by the end too.
04:06I thought this was all about me.
04:08Ha! Spell my name again!
04:14Number 26. I'm From Another Dimension.
04:16Star vs. The Forces of Evil.
04:18TV show theme songs may typically
04:20be short, but that doesn't mean they
04:22can't leave an impression. Take
04:24I'm From Another Dimension, which gets
04:26us hyped for Star vs. The Forces
04:28of Evil in less than a minute.
04:30The show follows the titular character and her friend
04:32Marco traveling between different dimensions.
04:34We get a glimpse at their adventures
04:36during the theme song, as the duo is seen
04:38hopping from one reality to the next.
04:46The delightfully weird
04:48number does justice to the many wild
04:50exploits the protagonists embark on.
04:52This is one song that'll get you binge
04:54watching the show just to hear it over
04:56and over.
05:04Number 25.
05:06Shake It Up.
05:08A show about dancing
05:10needed a theme that fit the bill.
05:12Fortunately, Shake It Up does that
05:14and more. The song is an absolute
05:16riot, especially when it kicks into
05:18overdrive. After building up to the chorus,
05:20Shake It Up goes big by delivering a
05:22total banger of a beat.
05:24We can't take it no more.
05:26Bring the lights up,
05:28bust the doors down,
05:30touch yourself up. Shake it up,
05:32shake it up. The high-energy
05:34song matches the bubbly barrage of clips
05:36from the show. On-screen visuals are
05:38interspersed with the cast playing up the show's
05:40dancing gimmick.
05:42Shake it up, you gotta change
05:44it up, and when you've had
05:46enough, shake it up.
05:48For a certain generation,
05:50this track is instantly nostalgic,
05:52especially when the vocals of Disney
05:54regular Selena Gomez start.
05:56Shake it up.
05:58Number 24.
06:00Exceptional. Ant Farm.
06:02Ant Farm is about a group of prodigies
06:04in the advanced natural talent program.
06:06The theme song leans into this premise,
06:08depicting the characters showing their various
06:10talents. Lead star Chyna Ann McClain's
06:12vocals and the catchy chorus invite
06:14us into the world of the show.
06:16Your wings, you've got, you've got
06:18a fire and we blaze
06:20in extraordinary ways
06:22365 days.
06:24We've got it, we've got it.
06:26For a song about gifted individuals,
06:28Exceptional feels very inclusive.
06:30Thanks to the welcoming nature of the track,
06:32we can place ourselves in these characters'
06:34shoes. For younger viewers, this is
06:36the kind of song that appeals to their creative
06:38spark. Exceptional. Yeah, I
06:40am, you are, we are.
06:42Exceptional.
06:44Exceptional. Exceptional.
06:46Even if you aren't an ant prodigy,
06:48we're all exceptional in our own way.
06:50Number 23.
06:52Sister, Sister. Sister, Sister.
06:54There's a certain edge to theme songs from
06:56the 90s that remains pretty unique.
06:58Sister, Sister is no exception.
07:00The sitcom's opening introduces the
07:02premise of the show along with a snappy beat.
07:04Sister, sister.
07:06Pop it up two ways,
07:08twice a day. Shakin' up
07:10family tree. The tempo gives off
07:12a teen vibe and also gives the audience
07:14clues as to how Tia and Tamara perceive
07:16the world around them. Compared to themes
07:18from later Disney shows, the intro
07:20is more personalized. The playful
07:22animation means that even on multiple
07:24rewatches, there are extra details
07:26to pick up on. Everything from the
07:28characters, to the background visuals, to the
07:30music has a distinct personality.
07:32Just like the song says, we ain't
07:34ever gonna let it go.
07:36Sister, sister.
07:38Never knew how much I missed you.
07:40Now everybody knows
07:42I ain't ever gonna let you go.
07:44Number 22.
07:46Live to Party. Jonas.
07:48Fans of the Jonas Brothers know what to
07:50expect from the band, and it works
07:52every time. True to form, the trio
07:54gives it their all for the theme of their
07:56eponymous sitcom. The classic Jonas
07:58charm shines through on Live to Party.
08:00From the opening exclamations, we're already
08:02ready to party.
08:04So I pick up the phone,
08:06call everyone I know.
08:08I say there's
08:10gonna be a party. Hit the music,
08:12here we go.
08:14A lively guitar track and a rousing chorus
08:16turn the theme into a mini-concert
08:18performance. The song also captures
08:20the style and attitude that made the band so
08:22popular to begin with. Although the show
08:24was painfully short-lived,
08:26its classic Joe Bro theme song has enabled
08:28it to live on.
08:30Live to Party. Blast your mood.
08:32Everybody's in the groove.
08:34Live
08:36to
08:38Party.
08:4021. Keep It Undercover
08:42K.C. Undercover. Spy
08:44shows usually incorporate mysterious
08:46undertones in their soundtracks. However,
08:48K.C. Undercover goes for a mix between
08:50this aspect and a more dramatic
08:52beat. The theme song conveys K.C.'s
08:54attempts to balance her life as a regular teen
08:56and a secret agent. It helps
08:58that series star Zendaya sings it
09:00herself.
09:10In some ways, the opening plays
09:12out like a live-action rendition of Kim
09:14Possible. In others, it's a musical
09:16confession of the struggles our protagonist
09:18deals with to make her life work. Either way,
09:20we are locked in from start
09:22to finish.
09:3020. Even Stevens
09:32Theme. Even Stevens.
09:34This one
09:36isn't your typical Disney Channel show
09:38theme. There are no lyrics to tell the
09:40backstory of the characters or set up
09:42the show's premise, but this show is also
09:44from a time before most Disney Channel
09:46shows had some sort of specific gimmick.
09:54It was a simple
09:56family-based sitcom, and yet the theme
09:58song still manages to perfectly represent
10:00what the show is all about. With a
10:02pleasing swing to it, the jazzy piano
10:04and intensely building drums
10:06are a musical metaphor for the rivalry
10:08between the two constantly battling
10:10siblings.
10:2019. Can't Do It Without You
10:22Austin & Ally. Like most Disney Channel
10:24shows from the 2010s, this one
10:26is sung by the lead actors.
10:32It's only natural for this show,
10:34considering it's all about a musical
10:36duo trying to make it in the music
10:38industry. As well as setting up the
10:40premise of the show, and introducing
10:42the themes of friendship and teamwork,
10:44the theme serves as a little taste for
10:46the kind of fun, upbeat musical numbers
10:48we can expect from the show.
10:56It is a very
10:58singable theme.
11:00It is a very singable theme song
11:02about different people coming together,
11:04making it as a team, and being
11:06better for it.
11:1418. Aloha E Como Mai
11:16Lilo & Stitch The Series
11:24This song is
11:26just as goofy and amusing as
11:28the show is. The vocal stylings
11:30of Stitch are even featured.
11:32This show, that was spun off from the hit movie
11:34about a young Hawaiian girl and her alien
11:36best friend, is all about Ohana.
11:46And as this show constantly reminds us all,
11:48Ohana means family, and
11:50family means no one gets left behind.
11:52This theme celebrates that
11:54motto. It's an invitation to join
11:56the family one episode at a time.
11:58You just can't help but sing along to this one.
12:00We bet you even learned how to
12:02properly pronounce the Hawaiian words.
12:1217. Phil of the Future Theme
12:14Phil of the Future
12:22This futuristic theme song was way ahead
12:24of its time. One of Disney Channel's
12:26most criminally underrated shows
12:28ever has one of the best themes to
12:30date. This rockin' theme song
12:32acts a bit like a prologue. It tells
12:34the story leading up to the show's events
12:36with fun lyrics and a catchy beat.
12:48Let's be honest with each
12:50other. We all sang along to the chorus
12:52every single time, even if
12:54we didn't know all the words.
12:56Like any great theme song, it got us hyped
12:58to watch the adventures of the
13:0022nd Century Man.
13:1216. Cory in the House Theme
13:14Cory in the House
13:16Cory in the House
13:20This show was a spin-off of the
13:22incredibly popular Disney Channel show
13:24That's So Raven. And living up to
13:26that show's theme song meant some pretty big
13:28shoes to fill. But more on that later.
13:30Just like Raven did before him,
13:32Kyle Massey leads this song with a sick
13:34rap and a bumping beat.
13:40The theme song both
13:42pays homage to its big sister show
13:44and sets up the new style of the
13:46spin-off. It also efficiently bridges
13:48the gap between both shows, so that
13:50when we jump into the first episode,
13:52there is no confusion as to
13:54why Cory and Victor are suddenly in
13:56Washington D.C.
14:0415. Better in Stereo
14:06Live and Maddie
14:08Live and Maddie
14:14Like many of the songs on this list,
14:16the Live and Maddie theme is also sung by
14:18the star of the show, Dove Cameron,
14:20who portrays both of the series' titular
14:22characters.
14:32The song uses the metaphor of listening to music
14:34in mono versus listening to music in stereo
14:36to describe the relationship between the twin sisters.
14:38The two of them may be polar opposites,
14:40marching to the beat of their own drums,
14:42but two is always better than one.
14:44Together, they are two halves of
14:46the same whole, and that's perfectly
14:48represented in this tune.
14:5614. Gravity Falls Theme
14:58Gravity Falls. The otherworldly
15:00music is a brilliant representation
15:02of the show's mystery and magic.
15:06Unlike most Disney Channel
15:08show themes, this song does not
15:10use lyrics to either provide exposition
15:12for the show's premise or set up
15:14the show's themes.
15:22But this theme does not need
15:24any lyrics to be an awesome intro
15:26for the show. The eerie-sounding
15:28intro of Gravity Falls is a
15:30perfect fit for the show's
15:32theme.
15:36The music and instrumentation is oddly
15:38appealing and draws you in.
15:40Even without lyrics to assist,
15:42the song, accompanied with the creepy
15:44images, expertly prepares the audience
15:46for exactly what to expect from the show.
15:48A strange, mysterious, wild
15:50ride.
15:5813. So Far So Great
16:00Sunny With A Chance
16:07Another theme on this list, sung
16:09by the star of the show, this tune
16:11is an enticing and enjoyable intro
16:13to the series that jump-started Demi Lovato's
16:15career. Lovato's mature and
16:17powerful voice helped make this theme
16:19song one of Disney's best.
16:30Sunny is ready to shine as she gets
16:32the call that all her dreams are just about
16:34to come true. Singing with hope and
16:36optimism, she is off to the races,
16:38going after her big break. And so
16:40far, everything is great.
16:5012. Take On The World
16:52Girl Meets World
16:54A highly anticipated spin-off to a
16:56beloved TV classic is destined
16:58to have a lot stacked against it.
17:00But having an awesome theme song definitely
17:02helps swing the odds.
17:12Sung by the stars of the show, Sabrina Carpenter
17:14and Rowan Blanchard, this song
17:16expresses the show's themes of family,
17:18friendship, and adventure.
17:20The song appeals to younger viewers'
17:22adolescent anticipation of growing up,
17:24as well as older fans' nostalgia
17:26for the original show.
17:28And the accompanying visual introduced
17:30in Season 3 pays homage to the
17:32Boy Meets World theme song.
17:4011. Hang In There Baby
17:42Good luck, Charlie!
17:50Today's all burnt toast,
17:52running late and dad jokes as anybody
17:54seem out of tune.
17:56The driving rhythm and changing melody of this
17:58fast-paced theme song is the perfect
18:00representation of the fast-paced and
18:02chaotic lives of the Duncan family.
18:04The lyrics drop any guise of poetry
18:06or metaphor, and get rather specific
18:08in telling the story of the day-to-day
18:10life of this family.
18:1210. The Chosen One
18:18Sung by Bridget Mendler, who plays
18:20Teddy Duncan, the lyrics are directed
18:22to her little sister Charlie, and reveal
18:24that while life may get messy,
18:26she should hang in there, because she'll
18:28help her get through it all.
18:3810. The Chosen One
18:40This song mixes a combination of
18:42fast-paced rock music, rap-style
18:44vocals, and cool melodic themes.
18:52The lyrics are all exposition
18:54setting up the backstory for the series,
18:56telling us exactly how Jake Long
18:58became the American Dragon.
19:00And if the voice behind the song sounds familiar,
19:02that's because you might recognize it
19:04from a Disney Channel classic.
19:10The song is performed by
19:12a Disney Channel legend,
19:14A.J. Trouth, who played
19:16Lewis' musically-inclined friend
19:18Alan Twitty on Even Stevens.
19:20With so much going for it,
19:22there was no way this theme song
19:24would end up being anything less
19:26than epic.
19:369. We'll Figure It Out
19:38Lizzie McGuire
19:40Nobody's got it all figured out,
19:42not even a picture-perfect family like the
19:44McGuires. The best thing about Lizzie
19:46McGuire was always how relatable it was.
19:54Lizzie was just an ordinary
19:56girl from an average family,
19:58with a couple of good friends, and that
20:00little voice in her head trying to navigate
20:02the hardships of growing up. And the
20:04theme song is a perfect representation of just
20:06that. Contrary to how things might seem
20:08on the surface, they are not quite so
20:10perfect after all. But they're figuring it out,
20:12and who can't relate to that?
20:208. Today Is Gonna Be A Great Day
20:22Phineas and Ferb
20:36Phineas and Ferb can't relate to this song's ode
20:38to summer adventures and mischievous fun.
20:40Performed by the pop-punk band Bowling
20:42for Soup, this theme is emblematic
20:44of Phineas and Ferb's wild and crazy
20:46antics. With accented upbeats
20:48and hard-driving guitar lines,
20:50this song is a fun and even uplifting
20:52tribute to the boys' determination to make
20:54every single day of summer vacation
20:56the best day ever.
21:07It's also a sneak peek of the kinds
21:09of awesome and numerous musical numbers
21:11we can expect from the show throughout its run.
21:13This show is famous for its epic
21:15songs, and it all starts right here
21:17with the theme. You hear the song come on
21:19the TV, and you just know it's gonna
21:21be a great day.
21:327. Proud Family
21:34The Proud Family
21:44In keeping with the show's main theme
21:46of family, the lyrics of this song
21:48are all about family dynamics.
21:50Like any great family, one minute
21:52they're driving you crazy, and the next minute
21:54you wanna hug them. Unlike most
21:56Disney theme songs, which fall more into
21:58the pop music genre, this song is
22:00definitely R&B, purposefully
22:02highlighting the culture of a black family.
22:12Their heritage is an important part of who the Proud
22:14Family is, and it's nice to see a theme
22:16song that reflects that. Oh, and
22:18the track was performed by Solange Knowles
22:20with backups from Destiny's Child.
22:286. Here I Am
22:30Sweet Life of Zack and Cody
22:32A down-strumming guitar line and youthful melody
22:34make up this pop-punk style theme song
22:36about two troublemaking twin brothers
22:38living at the Tipton Hotel.
22:46The opening credits sequence, presenting just
22:48a handful of the boys' crazy adventures
22:50that take place in the swanky hotel,
22:52will have you tapping your feet and singing
22:54along.
23:00Along with the inviting lyrics,
23:02the upbeat tune compels you to join in
23:04on the mischievous fun, and will have
23:06you wanting to check in and live the
23:08sweet life right along with them.
23:14Their sequel series,
23:16The Sweet Life on Deck, also
23:18had an equally awesome theme song.
23:305. Everything Is Not
23:32What It Seems – Wizards of Waverly
23:34Place
23:40When you can get all you ever
23:42wanted in your wildest dreams with the snap
23:44of your fingers, you might think everything
23:46would be a breeze. But everything
23:48is not what it seems. With her
23:50sultry voice, Selena Gomez brings
23:52this mysteriously magical melody
23:54to life.
24:00It's the
24:02perfect fit for this show about a family
24:04of wizards trying to get through everyday
24:06life with a magical secret.
24:08The racing lyrics and otherworldly
24:10music are emblematic of the magical themes
24:12of the show.
24:224. The Best of Both Worlds
24:24– Anna Montana
24:30This one is pretty self-explanatory.
24:32With this dynamic theme song,
24:34you get the best of both
24:36Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana.
24:50Other than just being awesome intros
24:52to their shows, and introducing all
24:54the main characters, all the best
24:56TV show theme songs also serve
24:58the purpose of preparing the audience
25:00for what to expect from the show.
25:02This song does just that. Miley Stewart
25:04is just an average girl who also
25:06just happens to live a secret life
25:08as a pop star. Just as the song
25:10title suggests, she struggles with
25:12the two conflicting worlds of Hannah
25:14and Miley, but she is making the best
25:16of it.
25:223. DuckTales Theme – DuckTales
25:28Life is like a
25:30hurricane here
25:32in Duckburg.
25:34Race cars, lasers,
25:36aeroplanes, it's a
25:38duck blur.
25:40Not only is this original tune fun
25:42and catchy as hell, but the
25:44lyrics perfectly encapsulate what the show
25:46is about. A little bit of mystery,
25:48a little bit of danger, and a lot
25:50of thrilling tales.
25:58It manages
26:02to tell a story without coming off as
26:04just a bunch of boring exposition,
26:06and it makes you want to sing along.
26:14This song is
26:16so good that when the show was rebooted in
26:182017, the song definitely
26:20got an upgrade, but didn't change much.
26:22The band Panic at the Disco even
26:24performs this song at their concerts.
26:28Life is like a hurricane
26:30here in
26:32Duckburg. Race cars,
26:34lasers, aeroplanes,
26:36it's a duck blur.
26:50Performed by Raven-Symoné herself
26:52with a chorus sung by Annalise Vanderpool
26:54and a sweet rap verse from Orlando
26:56Brown, this tune became one of the
26:58most popular Disney Channel theme songs
27:00of all time.
27:08With the hip-hop style beat and
27:10soulful vocals, you can't help but
27:12sing and dance along. And the images
27:14of Raven and her friends misbehaving give
27:16the viewer a taste of the exciting and
27:18humorous tone of the show.
27:27Raven can see into the future,
27:29but even she couldn't predict that this song would
27:31become a Disney Channel sensation.
