00:00My dad is Chinese, but he doesn't speak his mother tongue.
00:02He doesn't speak Hokkien, he doesn't speak Mandarin Hakka, none of that.
00:07What do we call these people in Malaysia?
00:10Useless! That's what we call them.
00:12Why did you not learn your mother tongue?
00:30Having this event, you know, a lot of people will come and a lot of people will see that,
00:46you know, sometimes that, you know, we can laugh at problems that sometimes feel a bit
00:52more serious.
00:53But, I mean, the people who come here, they already know what cancer is.
00:57It's just that cancer research needs a little bit more awareness and needs a little bit
01:01more, you know, people who understand that, hey, what we're doing here is actually researching
01:06a very different type of cancer to what, you know, the global cancer research is.
01:10So, this is something that I learned as well.
01:12So, now everybody can learn about this.
01:16One of my closest girlfriends, she had throat cancer about four, five years ago.
01:22So, when she went through radiotherapy treatment, she had to isolate from her family members
01:27and all my other friends couldn't be with her.
01:29So, me, the single girl, I stepped up and I stayed with her and kept her company.
01:34I, not to say take cancer lightly, but, you know, there's always, you look on the, like,
01:39you know, brighter side of, like, you know, you know, falling sick or just remembering,
01:43like, you know, having a good time while raising awareness and raising funds for cancer research.
01:58I'm very, very happy to be here as one of the sponsors, as well as, you know, cancer
02:13research is close to heart and I think that this event makes a lot of sense for people
02:20who, you know, who are having cancer right now and all that.
02:23And I think it's a very good awareness that, you know, you have something joyful.
02:27They have so much more as people and to see their smile, their smiles is something very
02:36awesome and to be able to smile all together through something like comedy is always special
02:43to be a part of, so.
02:44And we hope to find research that will help people, you know, and cure them.
02:52Prevention is better.
03:01What do you call a Malay person, a Malay person who cannot speak Bahasa?
