Successful rescue of lost tapir in Kajang

In an unusual turn of events, a stray female tapir found itself in the middle of a rescue operation after wandering into Bandar Teknologi Kajang in Selangor on Sunday (July 21).

00:16After being alerted on the incident, the Selangor Department of Wildlife and National Parks

00:23The personnel rescued the animal and after initial examination, the tapir was found to
00:28be in good health, despite the risks of human-wildlife conflict in populated areas.
00:33At the end, they transported the tapir back to its habitat.
00:37The Malayan tapir is an endangered species in Malaysia and its population is estimated
00:42to be fewer than 2,500.
