00:00In this video, we're going to talk about how to create an eBay selling account professionally
00:05and set up each and everything so we are ready for selling.
00:09I'm going to divide this video into three different portions.
00:13Timestamp for each and everything will be inside the description.
00:17Number one, I'm going to talk about the things that you need to know before you actually
00:22create an eBay account.
00:23This is really, really important.
00:25The second thing, I'm going to share my screen and I'm going to walk you through each and
00:30everything and I'm going to show you what to do once you are creating your eBay account.
00:36The third thing, we actually going to design a logo for our business and set up our eBay
00:43account so it will look professional and it is ready for selling.
00:47So without any delay, let's get started.
00:49My name is Zain Shah and I've been selling on eBay and Amazon from past 10 years.
00:55My target on this channel is to actually help you make 100,000 pound every single year.
01:02So if you're interested in that kind of stuff, consider subscribing.
01:05Let's talk about the things that you need to know before you start selling on eBay.
01:11So before we create the new eBay account, the first thing to keep in mind that if you
01:16already have an eBay account and maybe you are only using it to buy the items from eBay,
01:22you can actually use the same account to sell the item on eBay as well.
01:28There are the changes that you will have to make, which I will show you further down in
01:32the video.
01:33Once I will talk about how to set up the account as well.
01:36The reason we're going to use the same account because it is very likely that you're going
01:40to have some kind of feedback from other sellers.
01:44It doesn't matter if you have a feedback as a buyer or you have a feedback as a seller
01:49because on the eBay ID, whenever the customer will see your eBay ID, there will be the number
01:55in front of it and that will show how much feedback you have.
01:59So the bigger the number is, the bigger the social proof you have.
02:03So the buyer will feel comfortable buying from you.
02:06So that's the reason I encourage people to actually use the same account if you already
02:12have an account as well.
02:14Second thing to keep in mind is that eBay and PayPal are no longer working together.
02:19So if you need to receive a payout from eBay, you need to link your bank account and the
02:24bank account has to be in a country where the eBay is natively available.
02:29So if your account is in the UK, it has to be a UK bank account.
02:32If your account is in the US, then it has to be a US bank account.
02:36Now the question is, a lot of people ask me, can I link my own personal account or it has
02:41to be a business account?
02:43If you register a limited company, then it has to be the separate bank account for a
02:48limited company.
02:49It has to be a business bank account.
02:51As a small scale, once you are starting out, you're going to register as a sole trader.
02:55You can always upgrade further down in the line.
02:58You can link your own personal account, but I highly recommend creating another account
03:03specific for eBay, even if it is your own personal account, just create another account.
03:08So all the payout you're going to be receiving in that account, all the expenses you're going
03:12to be doing from that account.
03:14So at the end of day, you will know how much profit you are making.
03:17So everything stays really to the point and effective as well.
03:21The third thing that you need to keep in mind that if you've been previously banned by eBay,
03:26I do not recommend creating another account because even if you're using a different details,
03:32for example, your family member details or friend details, even you have a permission
03:37from them as well, eBay still know your computer IP address.
03:42They still know your Wi-Fi MAC address.
03:45So easily they can spot that out and they will actually ban the new account again as
03:50well.
03:51So if your account been previously banned, the best thing to do is to actually call eBay
03:56and 99% of the time you will get your old account back as well.
04:01You just have to speak with the customer services, but I will not just go ahead and create another
04:07account because you've been previously banned on eBay.
04:10Even though it been a permanent suspension, you can reach out to them in many different
04:15ways.
04:16For example, going on a Twitter and then talking to eBay customer service.
04:20So far, if you're getting a value from the video, please hit the like button and subscribe
04:24to the channel.
04:25Both of these things are free.
04:26I'm not just saying please do it now.
04:28So let me share my screen now and I show you how to actually create a eBay account and
04:33then I will show you how to actually set up and design the logo for your eBay business
04:39as well.
04:40So on my screen right here, I am at Google.
04:43Depending on whatever country you are, it doesn't matter.
04:47As long as eBay is natively available there, just come on to Google and click on eBay sign
04:54up.
04:56So once you're going to click on that one, if you are in the UK, make sure you are creating
05:00an account on eBay.co.uk.
05:03If you are in, let's say, Italy, make sure you're creating an account on eBay.it.
05:08And if you are in the US, you need to make sure you're creating an account on eBay.com.
05:13So I am in the UK.
05:14The process is going to be similar all across the country.
05:18Just click on the relevant link depending on your country.
05:21Once you're going to click on that link, now eBay is going to ask you to create an account
05:26right here.
05:27Here, normally you're going to have two choices.
05:30So either you can create a personal account or you can create a business account right
05:36here.
05:37The only difference between two of them, personal account is for somebody who normally use their
05:42account to buy the stuff on eBay and sometime they need to sell the item on eBay as well.
05:48The things they actually used in their own house and they no longer need that item.
05:54But the business account is for somebody, even though they are selling a used item or
05:58new item, but their purpose is as a business to sell the item on eBay on a regular basis
06:04and make the profit from it as well.
06:06So as a seller, you always, always have to create a business account because the personal
06:13account, according to eBay terms and condition, is not the account that you can use on a regular
06:19basis.
06:20So your account can get banned as well.
06:22The other thing that you need to keep in mind that if you create a personal account, the
06:27thing with the personal account that you're selling limit is going to be very low because
06:33eBay don't expect you to sell the item on a regular basis.
06:36So selling limit mean once we create the account on eBay, eBay gonna actually limit you how
06:42many items you can sell per month.
06:44So by just having a business account, that limit will be higher, which is very, very
06:49important right here in this case scenario as well.
06:53So if we go to our business account, the first option that we have is a business name.
06:59A lot of people get confused by it.
07:01They think about business name that they need to register a limited company and that name
07:07you have to put right here.
07:09That is also right if you go down the route, if you register a limited company, but even
07:13though you are not registering a limited company, you can pick the business name for yourself.
07:19It can be any business name.
07:21But what I normally recommend, what you can do is just go on to your company house website,
07:28just Google company house, and then it gonna give you this link where it's going to show
07:33you get the information about the company.
07:35And here what you can do is the search for the different, different names that the name
07:41that you need to pick for your eBay account.
07:44If the company under that name already exists, then I will not actually pick that name for
07:50my eBay store.
07:51Because later down in the line, let's say you need to register a limited company.
07:55I need to make sure that name is actually available.
07:58So you can come on to the company house website and you can search the register because this
08:03is completely free to do so.
08:05This gonna actually future proof your name.
08:09So you know that this name is going to be available even though you are not registering
08:13a limited company at this state as well.
08:16So right here, let's say I pick the name Zensha eBay.
08:21I'm just giving you one example.
08:24It doesn't have to be that one, but just you need to make sure it is available.
08:28And then the business email here, you're going to need to put the business email that you're
08:33going to use.
08:34It can be Gmail, it can be Yahoo, whatever.
08:37But I recommend just the business email that you're going to be using for eBay.
08:42Keep that email separate as well.
08:44Because you know this is the one you are only using for eBay and the email are not mixing
08:49up.
08:50So creating another email account is just a simple process.
08:53So just create another email account and use that as a business email right here.
08:59You're just going to need to pick up the password right here, whatever the password that you're
09:02going to choose, and then you're going to select your business location.
09:06So for me is a United Kingdom.
09:08And here this is very important.
09:09It says that I only want to buy on eBay.
09:13I don't want to sell.
09:15So if you check this box, then this is not going to be a selling account.
09:20It is just going to be a buying account.
09:22Leave that box empty.
09:24Do not do anything with that box.
09:27And once you do that, just simply click on register.
09:30And that's all you have to do in order for you to have a basic registration for your
09:36eBay account.
09:37Now I'm going to go inside the eBay and I'm going to show you how to actually set up the
09:42payment method where you're going to need to receive the payment.
09:46So you're going to need to link your eBay account with it.
09:49And I received this comment from a lot of people that they created an account and they
09:54went on to their dropshipping software.
09:57They tried to list something and it is coming as an error because your payment information
10:02is not added.
10:03And it's not a straightforward process as I talked about earlier.
10:07We have to create a dummy listing in order for eBay to prompt us to that particular page
10:13where we need to add our payment information.
10:16So let's go to my eBay right here and then we're going to click on a selling.
10:22Once we click on selling, we're going to be added this particular page right here.
10:26Here we're going to just simply click on a list and item.
10:30We are not listing anything.
10:32We are just creating a dummy listing so we can actually add the payment information.
10:37Once you're going to click on list an item, you're going to be on to this page right here.
10:41Here you can type anything.
10:43Just let's say type iPhone cable.
10:45If you just type iPhone cable, anything, let's say iPhone cable charger, I will just pick
10:50up that one and then I will just simply search and then I can select any item.
10:55We are not actually selling that item.
10:58We're just creating a dummy listing.
10:59So new and then continue to listing right here.
11:03Once I will come on to this page right here, the picture is already added.
11:07The title is already there.
11:09I'm just going to need to fill up some information.
11:11So it actually allow me to make this listing right here as well.
11:16So description, we can type anything in the description, doesn't matter.
11:19The selling price, let's say $4.99 quantity one, postage, we need to select something
11:27for the postage domestic service right here.
11:30Let's say we do this one and then we offer a free shipping right here, one working day.
11:37This is just two.
11:38It will let me add the information.
11:41So once I'm going to click on list with displayed fees underneath, now eBay going to ask me
11:47to actually, you know, looks like you are selling, but now you need to add the payment
11:53method inside your account as well.
11:56So I wish they just make it simple.
11:58We don't have to create a dummy listing, so we can just go to our software and we can
12:02create the listing from our dropshipping software.
12:06So even if you just need to create a listing, I hope that they will make this simple in
12:11the future.
12:12So once we get to come to the payment page where we need to add all the information,
12:17this is very, very simple right here as well.
12:20So you're going to add your first name, you're going to add your last name, you're going
12:22to add your address, city, and then you're going to put your postcode.
12:26The phone number is, if you haven't added the phone number, you need to add one phone
12:31number as well, which need to be verified.
12:33So eBay just going to send you the text and inside the text, there's going to be a code
12:38which you need to verify.
12:39So just fill up the detail and then it's going to take us to the next page where we need
12:43to add our banking information.
12:45So once we're going to need to add the payment information right here, then eBay going to
12:50give us an option onto the page that you can actually log into your eBay bank account.
12:56So once we need to add our banking information, you can actually log into your business or
13:02personal bank account and then eBay will automatically pull up the detail.
13:07You don't need to worry about it.
13:09This is actually a very secure process.
13:11So you can log into your eBay bank account.
13:14This will get instantly verified.
13:16A lot of time we might have a bank account which is not listed right here.
13:22So let's say it's a TideBank or it is a Starlink Bank or Monzo or something like that, then
13:27it is not listed right here.
13:29So once you're going to click on log into your eBay bank account, then you can actually
13:34choose the one right here.
13:36So if your bank is not listed, then you're just simply going to click on my bank is not
13:41listed.
13:42And then what the eBay going to do, they're going to manually ask you to put your sort
13:46code and account number.
13:49If you do that and you're not actually logging into your bank account, what's going to happen?
13:55Then the eBay will actually make a small deposit into your account.
13:59Then it doesn't matter what will be the deposit, maybe 1P, 2P, 5P, 7P.
14:04But you need to come back and then tell in eBay that how much was that amount.
14:11So they will normally do two transactions.
14:13Let's say one is a 5P or one is 6P.
14:16You need to come back and put those two transactions and this is how you're going to verify your
14:22account.
14:23And then that's all it is.
14:25Then you can create a listing and then your eBay account is ready to go.
14:29So now what we need to do is to actually create a logo because that looks really professional
14:35if you have a logo inside your eBay account.
14:38I'm going to show you how to create a free logo.
14:41But if we come on to the eBay page right here, the way I came right here, this is your name
14:46right here.
14:47And then once you're going to click on your name, all you have to do is just click on
14:52your username right here.
14:53So we're going to click on username and then you're going to be on this particular page.
14:58Right now, this will be the same for you.
15:00I don't have any kind of logo and that looks really, really unprofessional.
15:06So if we come back and then just simply click on edit profile, this is where we can actually
15:13upload our logo.
15:15But obviously I'm going to show you how to actually create a logo.
15:18So edit profile here, you just need to tell something about yourself, for example, you
15:23know, just a little bit information, but you're passionate about, you know, your store.
15:28We are based in UK or we are selling top quality item.
15:33That's what you need to type something.
15:35Do not leave this empty.
15:37That is very, very important.
15:39And in order for us to create, upload a logo, this is a pencil sign right here on the top
15:45of your, this kind of dummy picture right here.
15:48So once we do that, then the eBay going to ask us to actually create a logo.
15:53Now, in order for us to create a logo, just simply come back to Google right here.
15:58There is a free website called Canva.
16:01You don't need to pay anything.
16:02It's completely free to get started with Canva.
16:06And I'm going to leave the link for Canva inside the description in order for you to
16:11actually create a free logo.
16:13I'm going to show you how to do that.
16:15So once we come inside the Canva or the top right hand corner right here, there is going
16:22to be an option called create a design right here.
16:26And this is going to be completely free.
16:28So if we click on create a design, it can ask what kind of design you want to create.
16:33So we're going to click on a logo right here.
16:36Once you're going to click on that one, Canva will actually give you a lot of, a lot of
16:40different templates as well.
16:43And they are really, really easy to use them.
16:46You can select a different category.
16:48So let's say we put online shop, we will do that.
16:52And then a lot of free templates going to come up as well.
16:56So let's say I like this particular design.
16:59Some of the design are going to be paid.
17:02So if that have a crown sign on it, like, like this, that it means it is a paid design.
17:08So I'm going to pick up just simply a free design.
17:10Let's say I like this particular design as well.
17:13And now I can make changes.
17:14So I will do instead of online shop, my shop name is Zensha, I'm just going to type Zensha
17:20and that's it.
17:21My logo is ready.
17:22I can choose the motto for me if I need to make some changes.
17:26Once you're done with it, just simply come back right here and just click on share.
17:31So if you click on share, it's going to give you the option to actually download this for
17:36free inside your computer.
17:38And then you can just simply come on to eBay.
17:41Just click on a pencil icon and you can upload that file and your account is actually ready
17:48to go.
17:49So before we finish, this is a step by step series where I'm going to explain each and
17:53everything as a step by step guide.
17:55So the next part will be linked right here, which I'm going to show you after you have
18:00created an account, what will be the next step.
18:02Do check the links inside the description.
18:04Like and subscribe.
18:05Take care.
