Liam Keen and Nathan Judah discuss 5 Wolves players that caught the eye during Wolves' pre-season training camp in Marbella.

00:00We are back, baby. It is Freeview Channel 276. Of course, it is exclusively on Shots
00:10TV. We love a bit of Shots TV, and we love a bit of this person here. Number three on
00:14the list, Rodrigo Gomez, Dan Bentley, were five and four before the break, after the
00:18break. My goodness, we didn't even expect this player to potentially be in Marbella,
00:23but he was, and he made a significant impact, not only in training, but also in the one
00:29game that we watched. It's incredible. He's almost gone from zero to hero among the fan
00:36base, and that's what six days can do for you in the sun, and that's not Liam Keane.
00:39That is Mr. Daniel Pedentz. Liam, probably one of the stories of preseason so far, Daniel
00:45Pedentz's rise and rise, and look, it remains to be seen. We know his future is still in
00:51doubt. It has to be in doubt, but as we stand here, as we sit here, on Monday, the, I've
00:58got to check the date, 22nd of July, you know, Daniel Pedentz is a Wolves player and one
01:03who thoroughly impressed in Marbella.
01:05Absolutely. Out of nowhere. Come with the moment, come with Daniel. Just a shock, as
01:11you say, for him to even be there.
01:14Shots TV.
01:15There you go. Look, he writes itself, doesn't it? Yeah, we didn't really, I mean, there
01:20was other players that weren't in Marbella that it wasn't a surprise. He was maybe a
01:2550-50 at best, if we've been generous for at least what we expected, and then to see
01:29him there, a surprise, to see him so heavily involved. He was, I mean, the fittest player
01:34in the squad on the training pitch. His endurance and running ability was brilliant. He seemed
01:41pretty focused in training for the most part. We know for a fact that with Daniel Pedentz,
01:47it's normally the stuff off the pitch that we need to keep an eye on. Is he settled?
01:51Is he happy? Is he causing any issues? We haven't heard of any so far. He seems fine
01:55around the squad. But of course, his future is still massively in doubt. He's got one
02:00year left on his contract. There was a year option on that as well, but it's still very
02:05much in doubt with other clubs obviously interested in a player who had a very good season.
02:11But what we've seen so far is Gary Neill willing to give him a chance. At the moment, he's
02:15taken that chance. Now, the sending off, obviously, against Coma was unfortunate in the circumstances
02:20sort of backing up Kwanghee Chan. It was understandable, although Gary Neill wouldn't say that publicly
02:25for obvious reasons, but I think probably understandable from our point of view for
02:29Daniel to react that way. And as you say, the supporters have taken to him quickly when
02:35things like that happen, but disappointed to not be able to see him fully in action.
02:40But what we did see for 35 minutes or so, or 30 minutes, was a player that I think needed
02:48a little bit of time to get up to speed. And once he felt comfortable, started to show
02:52some of the skills that we used to see, there was one beautiful pass in behind the fullback
02:57to release Giacchino down the left side. He was playing as the sort of 10 position behind
03:01Kwang. And when he pops up in those spaces, he's close control, he's low centre of gravity,
03:06his ability to look after the ball, retain it and find passes is what makes him quite
03:11an exciting player to watch. So there's no doubt that from a talent wise, talent perspective
03:16that Daniel Penance is more than good enough to play for Wolves in the Premier League next
03:19season. And it'd be interesting to see if the, the off pitch concerns with him can be
03:24squashed.
03:25Yeah, in absolutely great shape as well. I mean, he's beasted the guys in any kind of
03:30fitness drills. I mean, that's always been top draw. Doesn't need any excuse to take
03:34his top off and show his physique a bit like someone else opposite me in the pool. Every
03:39time, every time I look flexing in that pool, the sun glistening on his muscles, absolutely
03:46shocking scenes.
03:48You love to say it. Don't be jealous. There you go. Look, you've got some as well. Come
03:55on.
03:56So in terms of Daniel Penance, how, what are the factors that need to go into him staying
04:01at this football club? Because Gary O'Neill stated, like you say, that, you know, he wants
04:05to keep quality players and Daniel, Daniel Penance is a quality player, but there are
04:09a lot of hurdles to jump through for him to be starting at Arsenal or on the bench at
04:14Arsenal, so to speak.
04:15Yeah, I think three, three different factors in my opinion, Gary O'Neill wanting him to
04:20stay. And he has said publicly to us in an interview in Marbella that from a selfish
04:25point of view, if the budget allows for it and the player and the club working out that
04:29he would like Daniel Penance to stay because he adds to the attacking option. So that one's
04:33a tick.
04:34The other two are going to be maybe slightly more tricky. The club, first of all, happy
04:39to keep him again, budget wise is, is a, is a reason, but also the fact that, you know,
04:43he's got a year left in his contract. If they get an offer that they deem is, is a decent
04:47enough offer and they want to take, take it and bring some money in, then that could have,
04:51that could, you know, definitely happen as well.
04:53And then on top of that is maybe the biggest hurdle as I tried to describe already in this,
05:01in this show is yeah, Daniel Penance himself, because he's, he's been the kind of person
05:05that's caused a cause a little bit of fuss at times. Maybe not the easiest to, to, to
05:12keep happy and keep calm. If he's happy to stay happy with his role in the squad and
05:16goes out there and performs, then, then that obviously is a big tick as well, but there's,
05:20there's quite a few big ifs there. So it's one that I think is going to need a little
05:24bit more work on to, to make reality.
