Team USA prepared for toughest ever Olympic test

Team USA believe that the standard of women's basketball worldwide has dramatically improved ahead of Olympics

00:00I would say taking the time that we have when we do get on court, when we do get

00:08together to make sure that we're doing everything that we can to just try and

00:12build chemistry, understanding what it is we need to do. Like you said, obviously

00:15limited time together in the middle of a season just trying to come together, but

00:19I think we've had, you know, many days to be able to come together, practice, watch

00:23a lot of film, and know what we have to go do. It's time for us to be together. We

00:27don't have a lot of time like other teams may, but we can't use that as an

00:30excuse. We still have some of the greatest players in the world here, so we got to

00:33go out there and just play our hardest. Every game matters, every practice matters,

00:36so we don't take anything lightly because we know we don't get this chance

00:39back. We don't have much time, but we've had two practices a game, and then, you

00:43know, we practice today and play a great team in Germany tomorrow, so, you know,

00:47it's something that when we do get together, we have to forge this

00:51chemistry pretty quickly, and, you know, we've always looked at that as a

00:55challenge, and we're going to try to do the same thing going into Paris.

01:00Yeah, incredible feeling to compete in the Olympics and, you know, to have the

01:05honor of this being my third one. I think that each one is kind of special in

01:09their own way. Like my first, I was a rookie, so my head was spinning that

01:13whole summer. The second one, obviously, playing in the middle of a pandemic was

01:20tough with no friends, no family, and now to go to Paris, and it's going to have

01:24like the whole Olympic experience again. You know, fans are going to be there.

01:27Obviously, there's top teams around the world, and they have a lot of time

01:31together, and so I would say, obviously, the level of women's basketball continues

01:35to rise, not only in the States, but around the world as well, and so I would

01:38say, yeah, I mean, you're able to see so many other countries continue to just

01:43come together and be really good.
