00:00On the next opening of the session of the Congress, the Camera will announce the approval of the proposed 2025 National Budget.
00:07In the Senate, the Charter Change, Divorce and Death Penalty are not yet a priority.
00:13We have the first news, Mav Gonzales.
00:17Twenty-three Senators are present in the first session of the Senate.
00:21The former Senator and now Education Secretary, Sonny Angara, is no longer present.
00:25Some former Senators and diplomatic corps are also present.
00:28In the opening prayer, Senator Aimee Marcos seems to have a message.
00:52In her first opening speech as Senate President,
00:55Senator Cheese Escudero said,
01:02He also said that the Charter Change, Divorce and Death Penalty bills are not a priority of the Senate.
01:07It is not on the list of the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council or LEDAC.
01:12This means that it is not a priority of the Executive.
01:25Instead, bills which can affect the same result,
01:28but without the needless political noise and bickering, will be prioritized.
01:33This will allow us to focus our energy on measures which the people truly need.
01:39The Senate approved the proposed bills which are also a priority of the Camera
01:43so that it can be implemented immediately, just like what happened in the West Philippine Sea.
01:47Unification and the establishment of a strong country
01:50became the center of the message of Speaker Martin Robalde during the opening of the session of the Camera.
01:55We all promised to work together.
01:59We agreed to put aside politics.
02:02We will do everything to improve the lives of our people.
02:08We at the House of Representatives stand united with the President
02:13in his desire to advance the legislative initiatives
02:16that will shape the nation's path forward.
02:20This is a time for unity and we fully support the President.
02:25The priority of the Camera will be the implementation of the 6.352 trillion Pesos 2025 National Budget
02:32and the remaining LEDAC bills that the Camera will not implement.
02:36The amendments to the Foreign Investors Long-Term Lease Act,
02:39amendments to the Agrarian Reform Law,
02:41and amendments to the Electric Power Industry Reform Act or EPIRA.
02:45The Speaker did not mention the Charter Change and its impact.
