00:00I'm here at Sheffield Grand Prix. This is the 13th ever event held but this is the first
00:06ever event we are holding in Sheffield city centre. And you can see around me the music
00:10is on and there are a big crowd of people that are expecting spectators and we have
00:15different cyclists from all over the UK coming here in Sheffield.
00:19Well I've come down with my three children today. We live in South West Scotland so we
00:24do a few of these races during the summer.
00:25Have you been to the event before?
00:27We were here last year which was the first time we'd come. They enjoyed it hence why
00:31we're back.
00:32How did you find it last year?
00:36It was good, good fun, quite a good atmosphere I think. Quite a lot of people were out watching
00:42it so it's quite busy, quite bustly.
00:48So we're part of an eight race series and most of those aren't in city centre so we're
00:53the only one to be in a big city centre so that brings its challenges. It's very busy
00:58tonight, we've got lots of people going on, lots of food stalls, vendors, bike shops,
01:03all sorts of exhibitions etc where people can come and look at things and purchase food
01:11etc. All the bars are open so they're all busy.
01:14This is just seeing Sheffield at its best isn't it? The excitement, all the different
01:19people, people who've never cycled before. I mean I'm in between giving prizes I'm talking
01:24to you but I've been walking about chatting to people and just like I really want to have
01:29a go at this you know and it's just great to see this city centre buzzing. We've got
01:34the new Radisson there, we've got the Cambridge Collection, we've got all the stalls so it's
01:39a really lovely evening out in the outdoor city, in the heart of the city.
