Getting more productive starts with tracking how you use the time you already have in the day.

00:00Do you feel like you have enough time in your day, or do you feel like you're kind of rushing around?
00:04A little of both.
00:06What's nice about my job is it's very flexible.
00:08When's the last time you went on vacation?
00:10I would say, maybe like two, two, three years ago?
00:14Two or three years ago, wow.
00:16Do you have a RAPTO?
00:18Do you use all of it, or do you...
00:20No, I haven't done it, I haven't done it in a while.
00:24Being more productive means prioritizing what's important to you.
00:27Author Laura Vanderkamp explains how to get started.
00:30We all say, you know, there's not enough hours in the day to get to everything I want to get to,
00:34and that may be true, but we don't tend to live our lives in days.
00:37We actually live our lives in weeks.
00:39Most of us do not really know where our hours go.
00:43We might have a general sense of our work days,
00:46I mean, particularly if people have to report their time somewhere,
00:50but the time after that can get incredibly vague and amorphous,
00:54and we don't know what's going on,
00:56and we might end up going to bed at some point,
00:58but what happened in those hours in between
01:00and weekends are an entirely different thing altogether.
01:02So, try keeping track of your time,
01:04and I think you'll start to see that there are things you wish to spend more time on,
01:08and there's also probably things you want to spend less time on,
01:12or that you could move around to try to make space for the things that matter to you.
01:18Excuse me.
