00:00Meanwhile, Metro Manila is in a state of calamity.

00:04A town in Oriental Mindoro and two other towns in Cotabato are also in danger.

00:09Some have already declared a class suspension tomorrow, Thursday.

00:21Because of the heavy rains caused by Tropical Cyclone Karina,

00:26the Metro Manila Council has already declared that the entire National Capital Region is in a state of calamity.

00:56Mr. Mandon, seconded by Mayor Lanny Cayetano, the motion is hereby approved that Metro Manila is now in a state of calamity.

01:27Las Piñas and Paranaque are also in danger because of the heavy rains.

01:32This is a big help to their local governments, especially when they are already in a state of calamity.

01:38They can easily issue a quick response fund or a fund that can be used to help all those affected by the floods and heavy rains.

01:46At present, the number of evacuees in Quezon City is at 1,000.

01:50The number of evacuees has reached 22,000.

01:54And the number of barangay residents is at 142.

01:57The Camanava area is also in a state of calamity.

02:0060 to 80 percent of the entire area is submerged in water.

02:04Even Marikina, which is also at a critical level, is also in a state of calamity.

02:08According to the PNP, residents are now being forced to evacuate.

02:13They will be brought in if the residents need to leave, even if the flood is already in their area,

02:28Before this, the State of Calamity was also declared in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro,

02:33Cabacan, Cotabato, Pikit, Cotabato, and Barangay Butuan, Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental.

02:40At present, 96 roads, 13 bridges, 11 seaports are affected.

02:47There are 33 power interruptions, 3 water interruptions, and 7 communication lines are also affected.

02:54Earlier, there was also an emergency meeting at NDRRMC, where President Bombong Marcos of DILG,

03:01DSWD, OCD, Pag-asa ng Situasyon, and Lawak ng Pinsala in the entire country,

03:08as well as the number of casualties and those who are missing.

03:11The President is particularly focusing on those affected by the opening of the dam gates.

03:16The President also assures that all those affected will receive assistance, even those in the isolated areas.

03:24I just want them to focus on the areas where we haven't been able to enter yet.

03:33So that will be the next priority of DSWD and of course Public Works,

03:43because if the roads are landslides, they need to be assisted by the LGU to clear the roads.

04:03Rescue, recovery, relief, and rehabilitation of the government and all the authorities

04:09that are involved in providing assistance to our affected countrymen,

04:16Malacanang has already declared that all classes of Region 3, Region 4A, or Calabar Zone,

04:27and the entire National Capital Region will be suspended by July 25.

04:32That was announced by Executive Secretary Lucas Beresamin just yesterday.

04:37Meanwhile, we are now here in the Situation Room of the MMDA,

04:41where 24x7, MMDA personnel are monitoring the situation here

04:49so that all those who will be put in danger will be immediately called by the MMDA to the authorities,

04:55particularly to their flood control, rescue, and their hotline 136.
