00:07The past few decades since twister came out the nature of tornadoes have changed tornado season itself is now longer

00:22We wanted to bring it storm chasing to live for audiences in the most authentic way possible

00:27All of the cast met real-life storm chases who showed us technical language and jargon

00:31We just wanted to be true to what tornado chasing actually is and we wanted the science to back the film

00:40We're having extremely active tornado season in this part of the country as we're learning a lot of tornadoes are starting to move further

00:47East and further south so there's a growing risk of more cities actually getting hit by tornadoes that otherwise in the past wouldn't have

00:54What are tornadoes have against small towns?

00:56I don't know a lot of those occur at night, which is really dangerous because you're just not aware you might be asleep

01:03So the Weather Service is having to get more creative how to give as much warning time as possible

01:11The Weather Service and NOAA are actually using high-resolution radars to quickly sample storm environments

01:18And this is one of the new technologies that allows us to track different storms in different areas

01:23Electronically so we can sample very large environments very quickly

01:26We could change those racks out with actual racks so that they're actually collecting data and basically integrated into the project

01:34Nice upgrade from the old bay, right?

01:36So those kinds of technologies are what we see integrated into the movie
