00:00Another team that might be in that competition or in that discussion for one of the worst teams in the NFL this year is the Denver Broncos.
00:11Of course, a lot of media types have already said that they are going to be horrible.
00:16The books have them, as we'll see in a moment, at a win total of five and a half.
00:20Sean Payton, though, Scottie, he does not listen to preseason prognosticators.
00:26Here he is.
00:27Yeah, Coach, outside your building, expectations for this team are quite low.
00:32The odds makers have put you over and under at five and a half.
00:35You have long Super Bowl odds.
00:37What do you think about that, and does that, you know, part of your daily speech to the players?
00:44Look, if I spent time on that in 2006, we would have never gone to the NFC Championship game, and I mean that seriously.
00:53Back in my first year as head coach in New Orleans, I don't have time to spend time on that, nor do I wish to spend time on it.
01:00I understand they have a job to do and where we're selected, and none of that means anything.
01:09It's stuff to talk about when the media cycle is quiet.
01:18No, it's actually that you have a rookie quarterback who was, you know, just above average in college.
01:26But was he?
01:27Like, was he like some kind of badass or something ever?
01:30No.
01:32And that's your future, and it's on you.
01:35Like, they selected him.
01:37They wanted him.
01:38That's what they got.
01:39And now he has to build that from scratch.
01:44And I got to tell you, the days of him and that Lombardi trophy seemed like a long time ago to me.
01:51He's not anything compared to that in Denver.
01:55And ever since he's been there, he's been a miserable SOB.
01:59He doesn't like anybody, the media, nothing.
02:02He's always, you know, surly and sour and bitter.
02:06I don't know what his problem is, but I know this.
02:11These sportsbooks don't put those numbers up for their health.
02:14They do it because they know how much money is going to be bet on it, and they don't want to lose money, and they won't lose money.
02:21So the bottom line is, who do you believe more, the sportsbooks or Sean Payton?
02:26I believe the sportsbooks know how to put Sean Payton in a casket.
02:31Well, and here's his other problem.
02:34You know, they always say when you have two quarterbacks, you don't really have one, right?
02:38You've heard that, like, forever.
02:40Like, that's, like, one of those old adages.
02:42What about when you have three?
02:44If you have three quarterbacks, do you really have one?
02:47He's going to split all the reps between all three of these guys, Jarrett Stidham, Zach Wilson, and Bo Nix,
02:53in hopes of finding which one is going to win.
02:56Now, that'll be a hotly contested quarterback battle, Scotty, out in Denver.
03:00Who do you got in that one, Nix, Stidham, or Zach Wilson to be the starting quarterback in Week 1?
03:07I mean, believe it or not, Stidham.
03:10Probably, right?
03:12I mean, probably you would have to think that's probably where it's going to crumble.
03:16He's played in the NFL a lot, so, you know, it's got to be him.
03:21I'm not trusting some rookie unless they want to win four games.
03:26Yeah, that's very possible, too.
03:29Five and a half is the number, as that gentleman who was interviewing in the press conference with Sean Payton nicely said before.
03:35In fact, 18-1 to win the West and 150-1 to win the Super Bowl.
03:40Yeah, I think those numbers stay at all.
03:43And Sean can blame that media guy sitting there for all of his problems.
03:47That's what he usually does.
