00:00And finally, as you all know, and certainly are tracking, what we saw from the President
00:06the last couple of days is what we have seen from him over the last several decades.
00:13Human decency, patriotism, a good man who puts the American people ahead of himself.
00:21As the President said in his letter this past Sunday, it has been the greatest honor of
00:26my life to serve as your President, and while it has been my intention to seek re-election,
00:33I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down
00:38and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
00:46As a member of his team, and as an American, I am proud of this President's record.
00:52He's accomplished more in nearly one term than most Presidents have in two terms.
00:58The President remains focused on fighting for the American people and building on the
01:03historic progress his administration has made.
01:07He's focused on growing the middle class instead of delivering big giveaways to corporations
01:12and the ultra-wealthy.
01:14Fighting to lower costs for families instead of raising them by threatening to cut critical
01:19programs like Social Security.
01:21Fighting for a fairer tax system instead of championing a $2 trillion tax bill that overwhelmingly
01:28benefited the ultra-wealthy.
01:31Making healthcare more accessible and more affordable instead of working to eliminate
01:35the Affordable Care Act.
01:37Strengthening and growing NATO, not eliminating it.
01:41And fighting for reproductive freedom, not working to take it away.
01:45You will hear directly from President Biden when he addresses the nation tonight at 8pm
01:51Eastern Standard Time.
01:53Tonight the President will discuss his historic decision to put the country above all else
02:00and about the inflection point we face as a country in this moment.
02:05This is one of those rare moments in history when the decisions we make now will determine
02:12the future of our nation.
02:15America must choose between moving forward or backward.
02:19Between hope and hate.
02:21Between unity and division.
02:24He signed historic, monumental pieces of legislation into law and has worked across party lines
02:31to get a lot of them done.
02:34From jump-starting a historic economic recovery to the largest investment in clean energy
02:40and climate action, gun safety and more.
02:42The President is proud to have delivered these historic results for the American people and
02:47he is going to use the remainder of his term to build on this progress for the future with
02:53the enduring faith he has in our nation and so therefore I encourage all Americans to
02:58tune in tonight to hear directly from the President.
