00:00We're in front of the old Picus Fires building, which will be home to the Lumisphere for the next few weeks.
00:07This stunning light and sound exhibition is brought by Experience Company U, in collaboration with Peach,
00:13who are behind some of the iconic light installations from Bristol Light Festival, as well as the Clifton Christmas Light Show.
00:22Lumisphere will be open to the public from July 26th.
00:26Let's find out what this new exciting experience has to offer.
00:30Exactly, so in December of 2023, Peach put on an early stage version of the Lumisphere,
00:39but the work has moved on significantly, both in terms of scale and the ambition,
00:45and the team at Peach have been working very hard to put this together.
00:49So we're super excited to welcome back some of the people who enjoyed the experience last December,
00:55but also a whole new audience.
00:57So we've got a lot of our greatest hits over the years, and we've adjusted them to make them appropriate to a broad spectrum public audience.
01:05So we're tapping into our 20 years of experience to build different experiences, to put them into the Lumisphere.
01:10And then we've tailored them to work in this space, so that we can give great days out to a whole range of different families.
01:16Lumisphere's an immersive art experience, where guests can come along and experience a whole range of different technical installations,
01:24which give rise to the senses of sound, scent, and also light.
01:31The idea is that we use technology to bring people together and give them amazing experiences in an otherwise empty retail universe.
01:37And as you move through the different rooms inside this incredible grade one listed building,
01:42you'll be taken on a journey through the Lumisphere, which is a magical portal that takes you on a journey through time,
01:50and it culminates in a fantastic live show at the end of the experience.
01:54So great for all of the family, for children and the family to come along as a whole.
01:59So without giving too much away, I love the first space where the professor tells you about the Lumisphere and unveils it to the audience.
02:10And you then walk through a magical wall and begin your journey through the Lumisphere.
02:17And that moment for me, as the experience starts, is pretty cool.
02:21Highlights of the Lumisphere, I would say, are the range of different lighting systems and experiences.
02:27Personally, I love lasers, and it's great to see lasers used in a way that's not ravey, but creates a really ethereal, immersive experience.
02:35I really enjoy using technology in different ways, and there's a lot of that going on here at Lumisphere.
02:39My favorite installation is the ambisonics ones.
02:42This is where we have a 16-point surround sound system to create an immersive sound experience.
02:48I'm very sonically sensitive, and I find that kind of mesmerizing sound deeply engaging. I love it.
02:54Other people, though, can walk through that room and not even notice.
02:57So hopefully there's something for everyone.
