Exo-skeleton lifts tennis star for Paris Games

Physical achievement is everywhere at the Olympics. But perhaps nothing at Paris 2024 will be more amazing than tennis player Kevin Piette carrying the Olympic torch.

Paralyzed from the waist, Piette is a tester for French company Wandercraft which has created an exo-skeleton to allow him and others to walk. The company’s founders were originally inspired to help wheelchair-using family members move more freely.

00:24It's not only about getting around, sometimes more effectively than a wheelchair.
00:32It's all about participating in social events, like dinner with friends, and all of a sudden
00:41you're not sitting but you're standing up and you can share a drink with someone whom
00:47you like and you're seeing that person at eye level.

01:00is in a wheelchair.
