00:00The Sessions Court was informed that the full name of Zayn Ryan Abdul Matin, who was murdered,
00:07has been changed to Zayn Ryan Zayn Ikhwan.
00:10The lawyer for the boy's parents, Fahmi Moyin, said the National Registration Department
00:15issued a new birth certificate after Zayn's mother, Isma Nira Abdul Manaf, made the amendment,
00:21Sinar Harian reported.
00:23Zayn's father is Zayn Ikhwan Zahari.
00:25Fahmi, who submitted to the court a copy of the new birth certificate, was applying for
00:30Zayn's name in the parents' charge sheet to be amended.
00:34Judge Shahliza Warno then ordered the prosecution to verify the change.
00:39Meanwhile, lawyer Mahmood Jumaat confirmed to the court that he was no longer representing
00:44Isma Nira, who, along with Zayn, is charged with child neglect.
00:48They are charged under Section 31 Sub 1A of the Child Act 2001, read with Section 34
00:55of the Penal Code.
00:56If found guilty, they could each face a fine of not more than RM50,000, imprisonment of
01:02up to 20 years, or both.
