00:00 The public has been barred from observing Najib Razak's bid to compel the government to produce a supplementary order purportedly issued by the former king.
00:11 The supplementary order allegedly allowed the former prime minister to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.
00:18 Lawyer Shafi' Abdullah made the request to Justice Amarjit Singh at the start of proceedings at the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.
00:26 Senior Federal Council Shamsul Bolhassan and Ahmad Hanir Hambali, appearing for the Attorney General's Chambers, did not object to having the case heard in camera.
00:36 Amarjit then ordered everyone in the public gallery, including journalists, to leave the court.
00:42 On April 1, Najib filed an application claiming that then Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah issued the supplementary decree during a Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting on January 29.
00:55 On February 2, the FDPB halved Najib's prison sentence in his SRC International case from 12 years to 6 and reduced his fine from 210 million ringgit to 50 million ringgit.
