00:00Typhoon Gemi has barrelled across the Taiwan Strait and arrived in eastern China, lashing
00:06the coastal Fujian province with torrential rains and winds.
00:10Streets have been turned into rivers, nearly 300,000 people have been evacuated and almost

00:26Streets were flooded and 7,000 people were evacuated in the city of Wenzhou.
00:32The storm was expected to move north-westward into the centre of the country where it would

00:44On Friday, Philippine coastguards were racing against the clock to contain an oil spill
00:49after a tanker carrying 1.4 million litres of industrial fuel capsized in the rough seas
00:54off Manila, killing one crew member.
00:58It was one of two ships that sank in the region on Thursday.
01:03Filipino locals were also reeling after the storm triggered flooding, landslides and killed

01:46It was the largest typhoon to have struck the island in eight years.
