00:41The scale of the disaster has prompted a rare appeal by Myanmar's military junta.
00:46It's under Western sanctions and has previously blocked humanitarian aid.
00:51But now state media has reported that the junta is calling for international assistance.
00:58Typhoon Yagi has caused chaos across much of Southeast Asia.

01:05while in Thailand, emergency services have been using helicopters, boats and jet skis
01:11to rescue residents trapped by high water and mudslides.
