00:00Stephen Jones, Papa Jerry's kid and the COO of the Dallas Cowboys, says Michael Parsons
00:12and CeeDee Lamb both want to become the highest paid non-quarterback in football, which would
00:16be over $35 million per year.
00:19Jones says they have all that going on while also juggling the Dak Prescott situation,
00:24which is ongoing.
00:25Quote, it's not easy.
00:28Papa Jerry Jones later adds, this puts gas in my tank.
00:33Okay, Michael Parsons cannot be paid until the end of this year, his third in the National
00:39Football League.
00:40CeeDee Lamb is up for an extension.
00:42He is playing under the final year of his five-year rookie deal in 2024.
00:47Dak Prescott under the final year of his contract as well.
00:51If they do not receive an extension before the NFL season begins in 2024, both Dak Prescott
00:58and CeeDee Lamb, your two best offensive pieces by a country mile, Jerry, are going to be
01:05a free agent.
01:06You are going to have to start from ground zero.
01:10You are going to set your franchise back by multiple years, a franchise that in the past
01:1528 seasons, since you last won a Lombardi trophy in 1995, has failed to even reach the
01:23NFC championship game.
01:24So you can say that you are all in, all in on what?
01:29Being bounced from the postseason before you even contend truly for a conference championship
01:34again to not have a future after that?
01:38I'm taking crazy pills.
01:41Let's equate it to another franchise.
01:43Let's go back maybe a decade or so.
01:45And this was before like you're coming into the NFL, you're getting big contracts before
01:49they actually slotted the first round.
01:51The Detroit Lions had Matthew Stafford and Donda Kinsu and Calvin Johnson, three extremely
01:57high player guys.
01:58Calvin Johnson, yes.
01:59And they couldn't resign all three of those.
02:01Why?
02:02Because they all make so much money at once, one, two, three, and we're like, we just can't
02:05do this and break the bank.
02:07So the Dallas Cowboys are telling us now that it's good for business, that next year, three
02:12different players will reset the market at their position.
02:15I don't know how you can afford that.
02:16And quite frankly, now you can play Micah Parsons.
02:18He's up for a contract negotiation, but he's willing to wait till next year because he's
02:22laughing behind the scenes.
02:23Go watch.
02:24We put up 18 sacks this year and you're going to pay me the most money, quarterback, non-quarterback,
02:28anybody regardless.
02:29So next year, if you want Dak Prescott, that's $60 million a year.
02:33If you want CeeDee Lamb, he's already put that feelers.
02:35He wants more than Justin Jefferson.
02:37And then Micah Parsons might be paid as the highest paid player in the history of the
02:41sport.
02:42They only did it to themselves.
02:44You're supposed to stagger these, sign a guy now, sign a guy in the off season, sign
02:47a guy next year.
02:48After that, they let all three happen at the same time.
02:51What a disaster in Dallas.
