More than 100 people marched through Alice Springs this morning to protest the national crisis of domestic, family, and sexual violence. The NT has the highest rates of D-V in the country and amongst the highest in the world .. but advocates say governments aren't doing nearly enough to tackle the scourge.

00:31off my body, calling for more money, additional housing for victims and a specialist DV peak
00:37organisation for the Northern Territory.
00:39We're weeks out from an election here in the Northern Territory, domestic family sexual
00:44violence is the single greatest community safety issue facing the Northern Territory.
00:49With DV costing the NT government hundreds of millions of dollars a year in stretching
00:54police and health services, these advocates say the $118 million they're asking for over
01:00five years is pocket change.
01:02I know the advocates continue to ask for more money for DV.
01:06We have put a large amount of money into DV.
01:09The NT government has committed $70 million over the next two years and says more could
01:15be allocated in future budgets, but today the Chief Minister said individuals need to
01:21start taking responsibility.
01:23The men that are doing this need to stop drinking alcohol and stop bashing their partners.
01:29If Eva Lawler thinks that she's doing enough to address this issue then she is kidding
01:33herself and she is not listening to specialist domestic family sexual violence workers and
01:39services on the ground.
01:41Governments start listening and fund us.
