00:00The weekend welcomed the return of the City Region's annual March with Pride event,
00:06where tens of thousands of people have come together to celebrate the LGBT plus community.
00:11This is about us today. This is about, you know, forget about what's gone on for today.
00:16Be yourself, enjoy yourself, but also remember every single one of us is fighting for each other.
00:22We were at St George's Hall Plateau on Saturday morning to ask what pride means to you.
00:28Pride is very important as there are still homophobic attacks going on. There's still prejudice out there.
00:34There's been an article in one of the newspapers about me just this week,
00:39and all the comments underneath have been really nasty and horrible.
00:42It's really important to have pride because it's only one day in a city a year where LGBTQ people can be themselves.
00:50Celebration, basically being who you want to be, who you are, and everything that's like that.
00:56What do you think, Daisy?
00:57I think pride means everything. Pride means that all people of all sexualities should be free.
01:05Because it's exciting and it's brilliant.
01:08It's lots of fun. Come on down, see what it's all about. You don't have to get involved, but it's great to watch.
01:14Organised by Liverpool City Region's LGBT plus charity, LCR Pride Foundation.
01:20Firstly, on an individual basis, it allows people to show the world who they are.
01:25I think secondly, from a region basis, it basically says Liverpool is a safe city.
01:30If you're LGBT plus, you're absolutely welcome in this city.
01:34And then just generally to the world, we're proud of who we are.
01:38After some rousing speeches, the march began.
01:40Despite the rainy weather, spirits were high as the procession moved through the city centre and the Pride Quarter
01:46before making its way to the world famous waterfront.
01:49Organisers were expecting a record turnout for this year's March with Pride.
01:54And the route through the city centre was lined with people who were showing their support.
