00:00Be Heard is the theme of this year's Pride in Liverpool. For the free festival
00:05on Saturday 27th of July, homegrown talent and tribute acts join a
00:09glittering lineup of stars who will take to the main stage, including a set from
00:14the headline act Katrina, formerly of Katrina and the Waves.
00:18It's all systems go on site. We've been building since Tuesday, just making sure that the
00:22festival site can be the biggest and best we've ever had, but also more
00:26importantly that we're delivering an event that's not only safe but it's got
00:29something for everybody. March with Pride returns for what is anticipated to be
00:32the biggest march yet with the muster beginning from 10.30 a.m. at St. George's
00:36Plateau before thousands make their way through Liverpool City Centre and onto
00:40the Pier Head. First and foremost, we're a protest. That's why we start the
00:44Saturday off with our March with Pride. This year we're expecting even more than
00:4720,000 that came out to March with Keeve Pride last year and we're going to take
00:51over the streets for a good hour, hopefully in the sun, and making sure
00:54that we are getting our voices heard. It is all about just letting everyone see
00:57us for who we are, letting everyone see that we're not those scary things you see on
01:00the internet and social media. We are just part of our communities and either
01:04as part of the LGBT community or people that just are there to support us and
01:07support equality. It's gonna be a really good day. A marketplace of LGBT
01:11merchandise and products, food and drink, as well as activities for all the family.
01:15Not only have we got the full festival with the main stage back, which is again
01:18the biggest we've ever had, but also we've got an extra day with Friday as a
01:22Pride Classical and an extra overflow on Sunday with the British Firefighter
01:25Challenge. So we've got so much and there's so much for everyone to take part in.
01:28Elsewhere across the city at the Pride Quarter, the Masquerade Bar Street Party
01:33outdoor stage returns with headline act The Cheeky Girls. Over 12 LGBT plus
01:38venues in the city's Pride Quarter will be ready to keep the celebration going
01:42until the early hours. So on the Friday we've got Pride Classical which is the
01:47first time we've done something a little bit outside the box but also deliberately
01:50to raise money to keep Pride in Liverpool free and accessible. Pride Classical
01:54it's a 32-piece orchestra headlined by Scissor Sisters Jake Shears.
