00:00Hey everyone, I'm The Canadian Lad and I just got back from watching Deadpool and Wolverine
00:12and my goodness, what a f**king movie!
00:15This movie deserves the title Multiverse of Madness.
00:18This was epic!
00:19The intro, probably one of the best intros I've ever seen in my life, not just from comic
00:24book movies perspective.
00:25The movie kept me hooked all the way through, they addressed all the issues with the MCU
00:29and of course the third act is just beyond incredible.
00:33Let me put it this way, the final battle of this movie will get you as excited as you
00:36were for Avengers Endgame.
00:39Such elevated and larger than life scenes, such great background scores, just what's
00:43been missing from the recent MCU, Ryan Reynolds, Sean Levy and Hugh Jackman have delivered.
00:48They didn't ruin the legacy of Logan, in fact this movie pretty much establishes that if
00:52you take great care of your characters in the writing process, there is no way people
00:56are not gonna enjoy the movie.
00:57It's not superhero fatigue, it's lazy writing fatigue.
01:00Now this movie uses everything it can from the broader MCU to further its plot but they
01:05made it make sense, not just because they could do it and that's the beauty of it.
01:10Now in this video I will only break down and explain the post-credits scene so if you haven't
01:14watched the movie yet, then please click away and come back once you've watched it.
01:17So with the spoiler warning out of the way, let's begin the video!
01:20Okay so I'm just gonna give you a little bit of backstory so you better understand the
01:24context of the post-credits scene.
01:26Don't worry, I won't recap the whole movie, just what's needed for the post-credits scene.
01:30The movie opens with Deadpool in a dire situation because his world aka Earth-100005 is dying.
01:37Because the anchor being of his universe is dead, who happens to be the Wolverine from
01:42the movie Logan.
01:43And what's an anchor being?
01:44Well, it's basically an entity of vital importance that when they die, their universe starts
01:50to fade away in a couple of thousand years.
01:52And bad news for Deadpool, it won't take a thousand years for his universe to die.
01:57Because Mr. Paradox from the TVA wants to speed things up so that he can show his superiors
02:02that the TVA can be much more efficient than what it is now and also get a promotion.
02:06So basically, Mr. Paradox is so evil that he won't even hesitate to kill billions just
02:12so he can climb up the ladder in the TVA.
02:14So he offers Deadpool a chance to join the Sacred Timeline aka Earth-616 but Deadpool
02:19refuses to let his world die and looks for alternatives.
02:23And that's when we see a montage of Deadpool going to different universes looking for the
02:26perfect Wolverine to replace his universe's Logan.
02:30And here we see some crucial cameos but I'm gonna get into it in my main breakdown which
02:34comes out next week.
02:35So long story short, Deadpool finds this variant of Wolverine who has basically given up on
02:40everything and teams up with him to save Deadpool's timeline.
02:43They both get thrown into the void by Mr. Paradox since they both pose a threat to his
02:48plans.
02:49And then Deadpool and Wolverine meet Johnny Storm played by Chris Evans himself.
02:53Chris Evans of course played the role of Johnny Storm aka Human Torch in 2005's Fantastic
02:58Four and 2007's Fantastic Four The Rise of Silver Surfer.
03:02Now Deadpool initially thought he was Captain America and so do we because of the Avengers
03:07background score but as soon as we think he's about to say Avengers Assemble, he says flame
03:12on and that's when we realize this is Human Torch and not Captain America.
03:16All three of them then get captured by the henchman of Cassandra Nova who rules everything
03:21inside the void.
03:22And as Johnny says and I quote, in the void you're either food for Alioth or you work
03:26for her.
03:27Cut to inside Cassandra Nova's compound which is located inside a giant man's corpse.
03:32And here we learn that Cassandra has been trying to catch Johnny Storm for years.
03:36But then Deadpool interrupts the conversation and goes on a rant about Cassandra Nova using
03:40all sorts of vile profanity that only Deadpool could say.
03:44He says at least 50 terrible things about Cassandra and says all of these things were
03:48said by Johnny, about you Cassandra.
03:51So Cassandra of course believes him and literally absorbs the skin of Johnny Storm, leaving
03:56only his flesh and bones which drop dead on the ground.
04:00And that's the end of this variant of Human Torch.
04:03Seeing this, Wolverine straight up calls out Deadpool for getting Johnny killed because
04:07that level of profanity doesn't seem like something that would come out of Johnny's
04:11vocabulary.
04:13So it's pretty clear at this point that Deadpool made all of that up in order to distract Cassandra
04:17from killing him instead.
04:19Okay, so now that you know the backstory, let's dive straight into the post-credit scene.
04:23The post-credit scene begins with Deadpool standing in the same room inside the TVA as
04:28he was with Mr. Paradox.
04:30Behind him we can see multiple monitors showing timeline branches.
04:33But what's interesting is that on a monitor on the left-hand side of the screen, I think
04:37they might have shown footage of Channing Tatum's gambit here.
04:40And if I'm remembering it correctly, the footage shows Gambit slowly walking and then
04:45turning towards the camera.
04:46But this shot was not in the movie, implying there were deleted scenes of other X-Men characters
04:51that didn't make it into the final cut.
04:53Because obviously, they wouldn't just film a scene of Gambit just for the sake of putting
04:57it here on this monitor.
04:58But I love that they found a clever way of showing it through these TVA monitors.
05:02Alright so Deadpool then says, I'm tired of these absolutely vile rumours that I got
05:06Johnny killed.
05:07Let's look at the tape.
05:08He then presses a button on the tempate and the three monitors on the center start showing
05:12us footage of the conversation that took place in the convoy when Deadpool, Wolverine and
05:16Johnny were captured.
05:17We get an angle from the top, a close-up shot of Deadpool and Wolverine and a close-up shot
05:21of Johnny Storm.
05:22And as soon as the camera pans towards Johnny, we see Johnny saying every single horrible
05:27thing that Wade claimed he said.
05:29And here's what he said.
05:30You ready?
05:31Okay.
05:32You were either food for a life or you work for her.
05:34And I'll tell you who her is.
05:36Cassandra Nova.
05:37A megalomaniacal, psychotic a**hole.
05:38A finger-licking, dead-inside, pixie-slapping, third-rate, dime-store nut milk.
05:43And I'll tell you what she can do.
05:44She can lick my goddamn cinnamon ring clean and kick rocks all the way to Bald Hill.
05:48In fact, I don't give a shit if she removes all my skin, pops me like some nightmarish
05:52blood balloon.
05:53If the last thing I do in this godforsaken c**k gutter existence is light that f**king
05:57box on fire, I still won't die happy.
05:59That's right, Wade.
06:00I won't be happy until I've urinated on her freshly barbecued corpse and husk f**k the
06:04charred remains.
06:06And Deadpool just calmly says, okay.
06:11And while Johnny was in the middle of this trash talk, taking a breather, Wade said,
06:16go on Johnny, I'm listening.
06:17And indeed he did because Wade delivered the exact same trash talk in the exact same tone
06:23to Cassandra.
06:24And notice how Wade and Logan at one point couldn't hold their laugh together while Johnny
06:28was going on with their shit-talking.
06:30Now hats off to Chris Evans for not only agreeing to do this but also nailing all the scenes
06:34that he was in.
06:35Every scene that involves him, you just focus on him instantly.
06:38That's how charismatic of an actor Chris Evans is.
06:41And it's kind of ironic that the same actor who played the role of Captain America who
06:45said language has now come back to play one of the most foul-mouthed, vulgar characters
06:50in the MCU.
06:51I mean, going from language to I won't be happy until I urinate on Cassandra's freshly
06:55barbecued corpse and husk f**k the charred remains, that is some escalation, eh?
07:01Oh god, seeing Chris Evans just letting himself go like that is just incredible.
07:05As Captain America, he could never do that but now look at him.
07:08After watching Chris Evans being so polite in the MCU for so many years and now this,
07:13it just felt like I'm watching porn with my dad, ugh.
07:17And then the camera pans back to Deadpool who says, got you f**kface.
07:20So there it is, Deadpool didn't lie at all and it is in fact from Johnny Storm's vocabulary.
07:25But yes, Deadpool did get him killed though.
07:27I mean, he quoted Johnny exactly like that and that's what sealed his fate.
07:31And that's pretty much the post-credit scene of Deadpool and Wolverine.
07:34Now even though it's just a funny scene and is played out like a joke but what I take
07:38from this is, it must've been a creative choice from Marvel and Ryan that they won't tease
07:42another project in the post-credit scenes because they want this movie to have its own
07:46identity and that's what it does.
07:48Although we may see some plots moving forward which was planned in this movie but overall
07:52judging by the post-credit scene and the entire screenplay, this movie wasn't made to tease
07:57another project.
07:58And that's one of the best things about this movie because some of the recent MCU projects
08:02just felt like filler episodes of a TV show but this movie is different.
08:06Now let's my full breakdown of this movie is coming out next week as I bought 4 more
08:10tickets to go watch this film in the theater.
08:12So by the time I upload my breakdown, I will have watched the movie 5 times and that should
08:16give me enough opportunities to write down hidden details and easter eggs.
08:20I did this for Spider-Man No Way Home although I might have watched that movie more than
08:245 times and for the Spider-Verse movie as well.
08:26Those videos have done really well in the past as I really managed to catch some hidden
08:30details even before the Blu-ray release.
08:33So hopefully I will be able to do it again with this movie starting tomorrow with my
08:36second watch.
