Venezuela, Attorney General congratulated the Bolivarian people for holding peaceful elections

00:02offered statements on the plans of the extreme right
00:06to undermine the results of these presidential elections.

00:16The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab,
00:20just made a public statement, a public press conference.
00:25He, first of all, congratulated the people of Venezuela
00:28for holding peaceful and institutional elections.
00:33He congratulated the elected president, Nicolás Maduro, for being re-elected.
00:39And he said this has happened despite years of inciting to violence,
00:45trying to cause coup d'état, acts of sabotage and sanctions
00:50led by the oppositional powers and foreign powers as well.
00:55The Attorney General then made declarations about incidents that occurred yesterday.
01:01He said that during the elections there have been some violent actions
01:06against electoral centers and voting machines,
01:09whereby 17 people were detained,
01:11some of them trying to burn in smaller incidents voting machines
01:17and trying to enter electoral centers illegally.
01:21More importantly, the Attorney General said that
01:24there has been an attack on the electoral system fundamentally,
01:29firstly by attacking the electricity system,
01:33and secondly and more importantly by attacking the informatic system,
01:38the data connection between voting centers
01:41and the center of it in the National Electoral Council.
01:44He said that a cyber attack has occurred against the system
01:49that was led from, he said, North Macedonia,
01:54a country in the Balkans in Europe.
01:56He said that this attempt tried to change the results
02:00that were received by the National Electoral Council,
02:03but it was defeated and it only led that the results came in later
02:11and were announced later on.
02:13The Attorney General said that investigation is going on
02:16to get the evidence of who is involved in this attack
02:21on the informatical system of the voting yesterday,
02:25but he also already mentioned that three names,
02:30Lester Toledo, a fugitive,
02:32Leopoldo Lopez and Maria Corina Machado,
02:35will be investigated for being involved in this attack
02:39on the election system of Venezuela.
02:42He concluded his words saying that these were minor incidents,
02:46the actions against the election centers.
02:50The ones I referred to, not the attack on the informatics center.
02:55And that the entire Venezuelan people
02:58has resisted the attempts of destabilization
03:02and has voted for peace and stability in the country.
