00:00One girl has been returned 13 times after being adopted.
00:02Today I found out the horrifying reason why.
00:04Most orphans find a loving family within a few years.
00:07However, something was different about Bonnie.
00:08She's been returned 13 times, and the actual reason why is terrifying.
00:12No one knows where Bonnie came from, but she was the perfect case for an adoption.
00:15Blue eyes, blonde hair, and six months old.
00:17Exactly the kind of child anyone would want.
00:19Yet only two weeks after being adopted, she was sent straight back with no explanation other than,
00:24she's a handful.
00:25When she was first handed into the adoption facility,
00:27she was found in the backseat of a car that had been in an accident.
00:30The driver appeared to have suddenly swerved and ran into a tree.
00:32It killed him instantly.
00:33However, when the driver was ID'd, he didn't have any children.
00:36The girl wasn't one of his relatives, and she was found in a worn-out car seat
00:39that had the name Bonnie scrawled on it in black crayon.
00:42After the first family adopted her and returned her,
00:44it wasn't long before another family was interested.
00:46The next couple seems to be an even better fit than Morrison's.
00:49They'd already adopted three-year-old Lily the year prior,
00:51and they were excited to grow their family again.
00:53Mrs. Morrison was a teacher, Mr. Morrison was an accountant.
00:56Lily was a happy, healthy girl.
00:57Well, she was.
00:59His family had no idea what they were getting into.
01:01Right after Bonnie joined their perfect family, Lily was diagnosed with leukemia.
01:04This was out of nowhere.
01:06It worked fast.
01:07Before the year was out, the family had shrunk,
01:08and the Morrison family had to buy a coffin that should never have to be made so small.
01:12Everything fell apart after this.
01:13Mrs. Morrison started having an affair with one of her students.
01:16Mr. Morrison came home to them in bed, and in a rage, he shot them both.
01:19The teenage boy didn't survive, but Mrs. Morrison did,
01:21although she'd never be able to walk again.
01:23During the trial, it came out that Mrs. Morrison felt like she was no longer in control of her actions.
01:27She claimed she was sleepwalking when she seduced her student and brought him into her bed.
01:31Funny part is, Mr. Morrison said he had no idea where he even got that gun.
01:34He didn't own one, and it wasn't registered to him either.
01:37Obviously, little Bonnie had to be sent back into the system while her parents were sent to prison.
01:41However, this was a recurring issue with Bonnie.
01:43I wish I could say it got easier for her from here, but it didn't.
01:46Not at all.
01:47It got worse, even.
01:48Not every house was as perfect as the Morrisons could have been.
01:50There are so many parents out there that are in it for the paycheck.
01:54Frankly, they got what they deserved when Bonnie entered their house.
01:56I was on the computer all night to see the path of destruction that laid in Bonnie's wake.
02:00House fires.
02:01Unexpected deaths, some explained, some not.
02:03Illness.
02:04Erratic and violent behavior.
02:05The most saintly of people became depraved maniacs,
02:07devolving into deviants that sold their kids to sickos and downloaded terabytes upon terabytes of illegal corn.
02:13Big brothers began gutting cats, and big sisters were found with their wrists cut in the bathtub.
02:17Parents threw children out the window on the second floor.
02:19Jobs were lost.
02:20Homes destroyed.
02:21And the only thing in common with each and every one was Bonnie.
02:24The last house probably had it the worst.
02:26The Zamoras.
02:26This poor couple hadn't a damn clue what they were getting into when they adopted Bonnie.
02:30They'd already adopted three other problem children who came from abusive pasts,
02:33so they probably thought that Bonnie would be nothing new.
02:35Nothing unexpected.
02:37Mr. Zamora went into work last week and murdered every one of his co-workers with a shotgun.
02:40No one was spared, and it ended only when he turned the gun on himself.
02:43The only survivor had managed to hide herself in the closet,
02:45and she said that he didn't say a word until everyone else was dead.
02:48Then she heard him start to scream uncontrollably.
02:50The screaming grew louder and louder until it was cut off by the final shot.
02:53I can't say the rest of the family had it easy.
02:55On the same day, Mrs. Zamora drowned the youngest child in the bathtub,
02:58while the older children ran down the streets naked and wailing.
03:01They finally managed to flag down a neighbor and told her, and I quote,
03:04"'Mom's gone crazy. She's going to kill us all just because of Bonnie.'"
03:07When the police finally got home, Mrs. Zamora had hung herself off the shower rod
03:10while Bonnie was busy drawing flowers in the basement.
03:12It was like she didn't even know what was going on upstairs.
03:15I've seen a lot of children, many who might be concerned problems,
03:17but Bonnie takes the cake.
03:19This child is a jinx in human form, and I have no idea why.
03:21So this is why I've agreed to foster Bonnie.
03:23I cannot let this child go into another home knowing what I do now.
03:26Bonnie is one of the most beautiful children I've ever seen.
03:28Dark golden curls and those wide eyes are such a bright blue they make the sky seem drab.
03:33She's quiet, always says please and thank you,
03:35and I've yet to see any typical troublemaking behavior.
03:37Stealing, hoarding, lying, destroying.
03:40I questioned her about all her previous homes,
03:42how her entire life she's never spent more than seven months in a house.
03:45At the time we were enjoying dinner and Bonnie looked up from her mac and cheese to ask for some applesauce.
03:49When I poured her some applesauce in a bowl, she took it and then she started talking.
03:53I'm a very bad thing.
03:54I can't do good things no matter how hard I try,
03:56and everyone around me gets hurt because of it.
03:58I'm sorry, I'll try to do better this time.
04:00I pity this child.
04:01I don't know if I trust her, but I do pity her.
04:03I only hope I can avoid the fate of Bonnie's other families.
04:05I should have known better.
04:06I should have seen the signs, but I was blinded by Bonnie's apparent innocence.
04:09Things started off normally at first.
04:11Bonnie was quiet, polite, almost too good to be true.
04:14She seemed happy here, but I began noticing strange events.
04:17Food would go missing from the fridge overnight.
04:19I'd wake up with mysterious bruises.
04:20I swore I heard whispers and giggles late at night,
04:23but when I went to check, Bonnie would be fast asleep.
04:25The final straw was when I caught Bonnie in the basement, surrounded by dead animals.
04:28Cats, squirrels, even a stray dog, all arranged in a ritualistic circle.
04:32Bonnie just smiled sweetly at me, blood smeared on her face.
04:35I tried to warn you, she said in a sing-song voice, but you didn't listen.
