00:00The heat is on over the next few days but how long will it last? Let's find out.
00:06On Tuesday then, a widely fine and settled day across the UK. Plenty of
00:11sunshine and light winds means it will be feeling very warm especially across
00:16England and Wales. Locally hot across parts of the south where if we exceed
00:2031.9 degrees Celsius then we would see the highest temperature of the year so
00:24far which is quite likely in parts of the southeast. A warm and fairly humid
00:29night to come and then Wednesday sees a repeat performance of Tuesday's weather.
00:33Again another very warm day for many areas especially England and Wales. A
00:38little bit of fair weather cloud across the far northwest of the UK though could
00:41bring a little bit of patchy rain or the odd passing shower. Across southern areas
00:46particularly around the southeast, East Anglia and parts of the Midlands it
00:49could be an official heatwave as it would be the third consecutive day that
00:53the heatwave threshold would have been met. Beyond that Thursday again mostly
00:58fine and settled another very warm or locally hot day but later in the day
01:03there is the risk of some thunderstorms moving up from the English Channel over
01:07parts of the south and southeast of England and there is a warning from the
01:10Met Office as there could be some torrential downpours likely. The rest of
01:14the week eventually sees a front moving from the west and then cooler and
01:18fresher conditions to end the week.
