Germany will not be intimidated by recent comments from Russian President Putin about the U.S. deploying missiles in Germany, said the spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry.

He responded to Putin’s recent statement that Russia might deploy new strike weapons in response to U.S. plans to station longer-range and hypersonic missiles in Germany, starting in 2026.

Speaking at a naval parade in St Petersburg, Putin vowed ‘mirror measures’ to reinforce NATO and European defense following Russia's attack on Ukraine since February 2022.
