00:00So, now that we have created a billing account, although those billing account by default
00:09got created when we create a Google Cloud account.
00:13And there is a project associated with those billing account, because of which only we
00:18are able to provision different resources inside that project.
00:22Now, everything has been set up now for you to create a different resources, provision
00:27different resources, managing those resources, but it is going to cost something.
00:33And it may happen that when you provision some resource after your next credit card
00:39bill, it is going to make a big shock to you.
00:42It may happen that it will reach to $10,000.
00:45Now currently we are running with the free trial account, so you do not need to worry
00:49about anything.
00:50Whatever you do with your Google Cloud account, nothing is going to happen with your credit
00:56card.
00:57If your $300 credit, if let's say it got exhausted, Google will simply disable it and Google will
01:05ask you to upgrade unless and until Google do not ask any kind of permission to upgrade
01:12your account, Google will not charge anything to you.
01:15But still, as a caution, if you are not using the free account, definitely in your organization
01:21you are not using and you have some monthly budget, you have some weekly budget, maybe
01:25daily budget for different resources.
01:27So, how we can create those kind of budgets corresponding to individual billing account
01:34and how it is going to alert us.
01:37So, let me just go to my Google Cloud account.
01:41Let me make fonts little bigger.
01:44Yes.
01:45And what we will do, we'll go to our billing.
01:51And inside the billing, we have a budgets and an alert.
01:54So, we can create here the budget.
01:57Let me create budget and let me give the name like, let's say monthly 100.
02:04That means $100 I can spend monthly.
02:08Now, this budget you want to apply on all the projects or let's say I am just caution
02:14about my project Learn GCP SE Guide.
02:19You want to apply for all 1669 services or you want to monitor for some services only.
02:26So, let's say you are using just for compute engine resources.
02:29So, it will just monitor compute engine related services.
02:32So, let's just focus upon every single service.
02:35If my monthly budget overtake those particular number, it will, it should give me some kind
02:42of alert.
02:43Credit.
02:44So, you want to include those credit or you just want to exclude those credit.
02:49So, let's say we want to include those discounts and a promotion.
02:54Let's say promote.
02:55Next.
02:56Now, in my case, it is like a currency in my local country currency.
03:03So, what I'm going to put, let's say $1000.
03:06If you want to put specified amount or last month's spend, so based on last month's spend
03:11also, you can create those kind of budget and alert.
03:14Now, in our case, let's just put some specified amount, let's say 1000 INR or Indian Rupees.
03:22In your case, depending on different countries you are operating, you will have a different
03:26currency.
03:27Let's just put next and what action you want to put when your budget or your billing goes
03:34beyond this number.
03:36So, we'll say that if I reach, let's say, just 40% of that, not 540 or 40% of that,
03:44that means 400 INR.
03:47What do you want to do?
03:48An actual one.
03:49You want to trigger something.
03:51After we reach 90% of our budget, just trigger something.
03:56Now, here trigger, that means forecasted or actual, when you actually reach 400 INR, then
04:04only it will trigger something.
04:07Or there is one like a forecasted, that means Google will predict something that it may
04:12reach 400 and it will immediately give us alert.
04:15Now, in our case, we just want to trigger based on the actual numbers.
04:20And at the end, there are a number of ways it will send us some kind of notification.
04:26Like email alerts, we have a link monitoring email notification channel to this particular
04:32budget and we have a cloud PubShop also.
04:35So, based on when we reach or exceed this particular number in case of budget, it will
04:42alert and put all those data inside the Google Cloud PubShop so that later on you can analyze
04:48it.
04:49In our case, let's just get those alerts via our email.
04:54So, this is about the budget and alert.
04:57So, what it indicates that inside this budget, when we reach 40%, 90% or 100% of our budget,
05:06it will send me a trigger.
05:07So, this is about the budget and alert, how you can set up so that you won't get one big
05:14shock on your credit card bill.
05:17Alright, that is all about this video.
05:19See you in the next video.
