00:00It's been an exciting week here at Folly Farm. We've moved our troop of pat-ass
00:03monkeys over to their new exhibit. They have been here for nearly two years, they
00:08were in a temporary enclosure. Our troop of pat-ass monkeys consists of our male
00:12Krusty, we've got two adult females Zwina and Zora, they were all from Europe
00:16and then we've got Wyatt who was born at Woburn and they all came
00:20from Woburn and then we've got a juvenile named Swift, she'll be a year
00:25old in August and then we've got a six-month-old who was born in March to
00:30mum Zora. She's very cute, she's very tiny, she's recently just started coming off
00:34mum and exploring the new enclosure. A new feature of this enclosure is our
00:39bio floor. A bio floor is something that will sustain itself, so how we've built
00:43it, it's pea shingle at the bottom and then it's layers of sand and soil mix
00:48and then it's got like a compost layer on top as well. It will be very
00:54self-sufficient so we'll have insects and bugs in here as well which the
00:57pat-ass can eat if they want to, so basically our cleanup crew is going to
01:01be living in the floor so it will help maintain this enclosure. Pat-ass monkeys
01:07in the wild are classed as near threatened, they face a lot of threats
01:10mainly from humans, they also suffer from the bushmeat trade as well as the pet
01:16trade and yeah habitat loss is quite a big one for the pat-ass monkeys. They're
01:20mainly found in Western Africa and in the savannas. Our pat-ass monkeys are
01:25part of a European breeding program, we are a handful of collections to hold
01:29them, they are a really nice beautiful species to have here at the park. We're
01:35really happy with how our troop of pat-ass have moved into their new home,
01:38we're really looking forward to you guys coming to see them and hopefully you'll
01:42be able to pop down this summer and come and have a look at our troop.
