00:04If Supreme Court reform does not pass,

00:06and it seems unlikely under this Congress that it will,

00:10what does the President hope his effort will accomplish?

00:14Is it to get the American people used to the idea

00:18of the need of reform?

00:19Is it a message to Justice Roberts?

00:21What does he think this would lead to?

00:24I will say majority of the American people support

00:28and want to see reform, right?

00:32They want to see this.

00:33This is where majority of Americans are.

00:35And I will say this, the President and the Vice President

00:38believe that the rule of law

00:40is the foundation of our democracy.

00:42It is the foundation of our democracy,

00:45which is why the President took action yesterday,

00:47and he's calling on Congress to do the same.

00:49Now, what we welcome is a debate,

00:52as we've seen as many times

00:54as the President introduced legislation

00:57or some ideas on how the direction of the legislation

00:59that's important to the American people.

01:01We see a healthy debate.

01:02I listed out moments ago

01:04when I was having a back and forth with Jackie here,

01:08conservative legal experts who support,

01:10for example, term limits.

01:12And so I think that was important to note.

01:14Senator Marco Rubio, who I also mentioned,

01:17who's obviously a current senator in the U.S. Senate,

01:20supports term limits.

01:22So there are ways that we can work together.

01:25I'm not going to get into

01:27what that legislation is going to look like.

01:28We're going to have a healthy debate.

01:30We think that's important.

01:31But we're talking about the rule of law here.

01:33We're talking about the rule of law,

01:35which is the foundation of our democracy.

01:37The President is going to say something.

01:39The President is going to make sure

01:41that is protected, as he has done.

01:43That is one of the reasons he decided to run.

01:46That is one of the reasons of the work

01:49that we were able to do.

01:512022, the rule of law, democracy,

01:54was one of the top issues that Americans cared about.

01:57Could it also be a message to Justice Roberts?

02:12there's reporting that North Korea

02:14could conduct another nuclear test

02:16to coincide with the U.S. election,

02:18the presidential election.

02:20How concerned is the administration about this?

02:22Is this a real threat?

02:28On today's sanctions on Iran that Treasury announced,

02:33individuals and entities related to its ballistic missiles

02:35and drones program, can you speak about the timing?

02:38Today, the Iranian new President

02:40is being sworn in by the parliament.

02:42So, look, what I can say, this is something

02:43that the Department of Treasury did.

02:45They announced new sanctions, as you just said,

02:47targeting five individuals and seven entities

02:49based in Iran, the PRC, Hong Kong.

02:53That have facilitated procurements

02:55behalf of Iran's military forces.

02:59The designated entities have been involved

03:01in procuring key components of Iran's ballistic missiles

03:05and UAV program.

03:07These sanctions are part of,

03:08you've heard us talk about sanctions before,

03:10especially in the last three and a half years.

03:13They're part of our ongoing efforts

03:14to counter Iran's destabilizing activities,

03:18including its arming of proxies in Middle East

03:21and its enabling of Russia's war in Ukraine.

03:26Again, this is part of announcements

03:28that we ongoing efforts

03:30that we've had here in this administration,

03:32and that's how I would view it.
