00:00The family of Mdm Theobeng Hock, namely Theo Lilan, her sister, her mother, her father,
00:15and her son, Mdm Theobeng Hock, and I have met the honorable Prime Minister earlier,
00:23along with the Honorable Gobind Singh Deo.
00:28And during our meeting earlier, Lilan has raised several issues
00:37related to the delay in the investigation into the death of Theobeng Hock.
00:46And of course, the family is not satisfied with the delay.
00:54Of course, an appeal has been made to the Honorable Prime Minister
01:00so that this process can be accelerated by informing the police
01:09to resolve the investigation immediately.
01:14And this has been accepted by the Prime Minister.
01:19The Prime Minister has stated that he will raise this issue with the National Police Chief
01:26in the near future.
01:28And any follow-up steps will also be submitted to the Theobeng Hock family
01:36through me as a lawyer for the family.
01:41In the meeting with the Prime Minister earlier,
01:44the family has expressed their dissatisfaction with the investigation
01:54that was carried out in 2018 that they used Section 342.
02:02So...
02:04342 is a crime under wrongful confinement.
02:10The Honorable Prime Minister has stated this
02:15and he will start the investigation
02:25into the case of Theobeng Hock.
02:30The Prime Minister agrees to investigate
02:35and to use the sections that were decided by the Court of Appeal.
02:42He will discuss this with the National Police Chief.
02:46We only show the pathology of the inter-ethnic people
02:54who came to give assistance to the local experts.
02:58So, in the meeting with Dr. Sri,
03:03we asked the government to find a well-known inter-ethnic expert
03:12to help with the police investigation.
03:14So, Dr. Sri Anwar gave the opportunity to the police
03:28to suggest that they need an inter-ethnic criminal expert.
03:36Do you have a candidate from the family?
03:41No.
03:44But do you think that having an inter-ethnic expert is good?
03:48It is good because
03:50as we have told Dr. Sri,
03:54this case is not fair and just
03:57because the police investigation is not free and fair.
04:02So, the Prime Minister said that this time
04:05the police will investigate freely and professionally.
04:12If necessary, the police will invite a well-known inter-ethnic expert
04:19to investigate the case under the 302 Penal Code.
04:28Is that the request?
04:30Yes, that is the request.
04:31But I think that is what the Prime Minister has said.
04:34Of course, that is outside of his power.
04:37It depends on the police investigation.
04:41So, that is what he will do to help with this case.
04:47Are you satisfied with the meeting with the Prime Minister today?
04:53I am very thankful to Dr. Sri
04:59because he was willing to meet with our family.
05:04We also feel that
05:12with the promises that were given by Dr. Sri
05:19regarding the Bengkok case,
05:24he took the burden of this case.
05:29He said that this is not a small case.
05:32This is a murder case.
05:34This is a case involving lives.
05:38So, he took the burden of this case
05:42and will use all his efforts to investigate.
05:51In this case, the investigation has not been completed yet.
05:57And this has been going on for 15 years now.
06:01And this is a mistake that cannot be accepted.
06:06Therefore, we have brought this case to the attention of the Prime Minister.
06:11As Lilan said, he took the burden of this case
06:16because this is a serious case.
06:19So, as far as we know,
06:22this investigation needs to be completed.
06:27Just like other cases,
06:29there is no reason for this to continue for another 15 years.
06:33So, that's what has happened.
06:34What is the final decision?
06:40The final decision from the court is that this case should not be killed
06:43because in the past 15 years,
06:46the police investigation has not been completed.
06:49So, we filed a judicial review.
06:52So, we went for a judicial review.
06:54The decision will be given on 29 October.
06:59But this is not in line with the decision of the Prime Minister
07:04to reopen the Tio Pek Hong investigation.
07:07I have been waiting for 15 years.
07:10I hope this government can speed up the completion of this case.
07:15I am old now.
07:17I will be able to catch the killer.
07:20I will be able to catch the killer.
07:27I have not quit my job.
07:29I am not afraid anymore.
07:33I will catch the killer.
07:35My son will be dead there.
07:39My son was a good person.
07:44But he died in the MACC.
07:47What did he tell us?
07:50He said he killed himself.
07:53I don't believe it.
07:54Because my son's name is Sunamah Kawin.
07:56That day, he took me there.
07:58That night, he called me.
08:00He said, at midnight, he came back with his brother
08:05to take a wedding photo.
08:08I remember how he killed my son.
08:11I know how he killed my son.
08:14He's Sunamah Kawin.
08:17He came back that day.
08:19There is a pre-fall injury in his neck.
08:22Even the cord or the pectoralis aegypti is a pre-fall injury.
08:26Which means the injury happened before fall.
08:30And in the custody of SBR.
08:32Someone, there is a unsu-unsu jenaya.
08:36So, someone has to be responsible.
