00:00Well, we live in a technological world, anything that can sort of give us more ability to do
00:05things, it's got to be sort of good because it produces some benefits in terms of the
00:11fact that we can get things done quicker or indeed we can rely on the system to make decisions
00:16for us.
00:17AI adoption is transforming healthcare with predictive diagnostics, finance with fraud
00:22detection and manufacturing with automation.
00:26Despite these benefits, challenges such as ethical concerns, data privacy issues and
00:31the need for substantial investments persist.
00:35Artificial intelligence will undoubtedly enhance our world, the problem I see is that in every
00:41other technological revolution it creates opportunities and indeed it's not to say
00:45there may be so from the next revolution and also computing power will undoubtedly be increased
00:52as a consequence.
00:53But the problem is, in this one of course, it may sort of take jobs away and indeed many
00:57of the low-skilled jobs, they have sort of ceased to exist because of course we can get
01:00machines to do that.
01:01What we're looking at in terms of artificial intelligence is the ability of a system to
01:06sort of take over professional jobs, so jobs which hitherto have sort of been unaffected
01:10by revolutionary changes of computerisation and robots and the like, they may sort of
01:16be the next in line.
01:18There are concerns regarding misuse of AI, such as in education, where students might
01:24use AI for submitted work, compromising academic integrity and genuine learning.
01:32Detecting AI-generated content is challenging, prompting educational institutions to develop
01:38new policies and detection tools.
01:40Well it's a problem, but of course if this has been sort of written off from scratch
01:45by a machine, it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to pick up.
01:49So as I say, you get a sort of a perfect piece of work and there is no sort of way, if you
01:53like, of disproving that that's a really brilliant student or somebody who's just sort of paid
01:57to sort of use AI.
