00:00If there's a lot of work to talk about, many are moving to Metro Manila to look for an opportunity, according to an expert.
00:13But some are leaving Manila for life in the province. Their reason? Let's find out in the report of Katrina Son.
00:22Mikey Basa was born and raised in Caloocan. He also found a job here. But his parents had to return to their province in Southern Leyte.
00:39When my dad had a brain tumor, we couldn't afford to pay rent. So they moved to the province.
00:52When the pandemic hit, Mikey returned to the province and found a job there.
00:57I decided to live here in the province. The traffic in Manila is not right and it's very chaotic. So it's very safe in our province.
01:08In 2007, Toto Madayag and his wife started working in Metro Manila. But as their son grew up, they felt the difference in life here in the province.
01:21I think there was one time, there were several times that I was out of the office at 5 p.m. but I got home around 8 or 9 p.m.
01:32And that's just for a 5-kilometer distance from your house to the office.
01:41They say buying and utilities in Metro Manila is more expensive. That's why in 2018, he built a house in the province.
01:48Everything is a lot cheaper here in the province because this is a farming community. So sometimes we just ask for water spinach, chili, and long chili.
02:02Here, where there are plants, the air is fresh. The houses are not crowded.
02:07According to a property consultant firm, even if someone leaves Metro Manila, many people still move here to work.
02:15What we're really trying to say is that there are more investments that are going outside of Metro Manila as compared to before.
02:24The house and land outside of the NCR is cheaper. If the 50-square-meter house outside of Metro Manila is worth P5 million,
02:33in the NCR, it will double or even triple, and it will be a condominium and not a house.
02:40Including Kavite, Pampanga, and Bulacan, in places that are limited to moving.
02:46The work-from-home setup during the pandemic became an opportunity for others to work outside of the NCR.
02:54People have also realized that they have other means of making money outside of the usual employment.
03:00So now, they are more comfortable investing in condos or houses outside of Metro Manila.

03:17Kobe Paras became a fanboy for the magazine cover of Sparkle star, Kailin Alcantara.
03:23Kobe posted a picture of Kailin on his IG story with the caption,
03:28My cover girl with heart-eyed emoji.
03:31Kailin is sharing this.
03:33Kailin.
03:42Shooting of Hello, Love Again by Alden Richards and Catherine Bernardo in Canada,
03:47was loved by fans.
03:50My beautiful, are you happy?
03:58Kapuso it girl Gabby Garcia will be the star in her first-ever international film, Death March.
04:08K-pop group New Genes will go to the Philippines for the Ultimate Fandom Concert next month.
04:16Irish rock band The Script will return to the Philippines for the Satellites World Tour next year.
04:23Aubrey Carampel reporting for GMA Integrated News.

05:11Let's go Kalanggaman!
