00:00We were talking to some NFL earlier in the show with the top 100 players, 10 more players
00:07revealed as voted on by the players, and I actually put some credence into this list.
00:14I think, okay, you know, the players are voting on it.
00:16They know better than most.
00:17It speaks a lot about, as you put it, it probably has a lot to do with how much of a pain in
00:22the ass is this guy to play against, which is a great way to look at it.
00:26We didn't give you all the players that made the top, that made 20 to 11, but they were
00:31CJ Stroud at 20, Roquan Smith, linebacker from Baltimore at 19, Justin Jefferson, Vikings
00:39wide receiver at 18, Micah Parsons, 17, Cowboys, Dak Prescott, quarterback Cowboys, 16, Jalen
00:45Hertz, 15, quarterback Philly, George Kittle, 14, the tight end for the 49ers, CeeDee Lamb
00:53at 13, wide receiver for the Cowboys, Josh Allen at 12, quarterback of the Bills, Fred
01:00Warner, the linebacker from San Francisco at 11.
01:05And that's four more quarterbacks ahead of Goff.
01:09We're waiting on Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, which we assume top 10, pretty safe
01:14assumption.
01:15So when you work your way down the list, quarterbacks that the players rank ahead of Jared Goff,
01:19Mahomes, Lamar, Josh Allen at 12, Jalen Hertz at 15, Dak Prescott at 16, CJ Stroud at 20,
01:25Purdy at 28, Love at 34, Tua at 36, Burrow at 39, Stafford at 42, and Goff at 48.
01:32So Goff's the 12th best quarterback in the league according to the players.
01:36I mean, this holds a little bit of weight, but here's what it doesn't do.
01:41It doesn't impact the actual on-field chances of the Detroit Lions winning the Super Bowl.
01:47It doesn't.
01:49It's just ironic that today, Pro Football Focus put out a tweet that asked the question,
01:53just a picture of Jared Goff and said, is Jared Goff underrated?
01:56And I'm like, huh?
01:59Now if you were to bump one player that's ahead of Goff behind him, who would you bump?
02:07Bump one ahead that's behind him?
02:09One of them that's ahead of him, who would you say shouldn't be?
02:12Stafford's ahead of Goff, right?
02:13Yep.
02:14I don't think he should be.
02:15I agree.
02:17Kang, if you have one of those players that's ahead of Goff right now that you would move
02:20behind him, who would you move?
02:22Right now, yeah, because this is a current list, I would say Stafford as well.
02:25I just think his body's just broken down, and he's just, I mean, he's old, man.
02:30You know, it's funny, I was thinking this league fell in love quickly with C.J. Stroud
02:34and Jordan Love, but then again, they fell in love quickly with Sam Laporta, who was
02:37number 80 on this list as a tight end.
02:40But Jameer Gibbs did not make the top 100.
02:43Not this year.
02:44Nope.
02:46Which, you know, I don't know how many running backs are on the list.
02:51I know that Christian McCaffrey's going to be high up on that list.
02:53I think he's in the top 10.
02:56But he won't be there for, it depends on how, if he's splitting time, you continue to split
03:03like they have the two-back system with Detroit, it's going to be hard to get on that list.
03:08But because he's dynamic as a receiver as well, he's got a chance.
03:12I feel like Montgomery probably doesn't have a chance to be on that list.
03:15He was a few years ago, but I don't know, I don't think he made it this year.
03:20As a Lion, I don't know if I see it, but I could see Gibbs on the list next year.
03:23Feedback coming in on this.
03:25Any quarterback ranking I see where Goff isn't in the top five, I can't take seriously.
03:30People rank guys like Allen on potential, not accomplishments, oohs and ahhs.
03:35It's dumb.
03:36That's from Dan.
03:40Allen takes over games sometimes.
03:43And he does it because he's a dual threat.
03:46And I'm not saying that I would trade Goff for Allen, because I really like what Jared
03:53Goff does on this team in this offense.
03:57And I don't know how different things would look if they had, let's say if he had Josh
04:01Allen on this team in this offense.
04:03How different does that look?
04:04Does that take away what Josh Allen's effectiveness is?
04:07He likes to go, he likes to run.
04:11I'm not sure.
04:12You know, I don't know what the, I think Goff is almost the perfect fit for this offense.
04:17When you've got the line set up the way that it is, and you've got the running backs are
04:20really good and they compliment each other, and you've got receivers that are really good
04:24and a tight end that's really good.
04:27It's funny because all those quarterbacks, who averages more yards a game out of those
04:33quarterbacks, their offenses, Tua at Miami, Purdy at San Francisco.
04:38Whoever just more points a game, those offenses, those offenses, Dak, Tua, Purdy, and Lamar
04:45Jackson.
04:46So, you know, there they are, top three yards, top five points, Goff 12th.
04:53Tua ahead of Goff makes me wonder if whoever votes on these lists actually watch the games.
04:58Tua is very accurate at short throws, and that's about it.
05:03That's from an unnamed texter.
05:04Hey guys, Jared Goff is not rated too high or too low.
05:08The other guys are rated based on physical abilities.
05:10I believe if you rated them on player IQ, maybe Goff would be higher.
05:14That's from Toro and Warren.
05:16Well, they've gotten a lot out of him.
05:18And like I said, it's not particularly consequential.
05:22It's just interesting.
