00:00Yorkshire's top 500 businesses, a landmark property deal and funding for a travel platform featuring today's business briefing.
00:12Hello, I'm Adam Beach. I'm Stephen Pavell.
00:14I think we'll kick off today with the landmark property deal announced late last week in Birmingham.
00:20National Highways, which look after the country's motorways of course, have taken almost 60,000 square foot
00:27at Three Snow Hill. Now, this is said to be the largest deal of this year in the city's central business district.
00:34So definitely a significant deal for the city and one worth reading about in today's West Midlands news to us.
00:39Yeah, really, really big deal for Birmingham that one.
00:41Up in Yorkshire this month, you may have already seen, we've got the new issue of the Yorkshire Business Insider Magazine out.
00:47Now that features our ranking of the top 500 businesses in the region.
00:51We put that together by first picking out the really top 1,000 businesses.
00:56We then rank those by turnover and pre-tax profit, and the average from that is taken to create the top 500 list.
01:03And as you can imagine, a huge number of well-known names on that, but also a lot of new faces this year.
01:08Among those is the historic textile manufacturer Camira Group.
01:12And we covered their accounts a few months back. Really strong year for them.
01:16And they've spoken about the investment they've been making in the business to put together the foundations for growth.
01:23So great to see them up there and their strategies paying off.
01:26I won't go into too much detail and give too much away about the list, because obviously it's all out there in the magazine.
01:32But I will say there's a new name at the top of the list. So one to check out.
01:36Certainly. And I think we'll move on to a very interesting deal coming out of Cardiff.
01:42Love to Visit, which is a travel platform which helps people book experiences, events, days out.
01:49And they're partnered with the likes of Alton Towers, Chester Zoo, Zip World.
01:53So definitely a useful tool for families, you know, trying to find something to do in the summer holidays.
01:59Now, they've raised £3.2 million in VC funding, which they're going to use to scale up their operations and expand.
02:06Definitely an interesting company and interesting founders as well.
02:09They're actually insider rising stars.
02:11So worth looking out for today.
02:13Yeah, it's good to see. It's good to see those people doing well.
02:15Definitely.
02:16Last thing from us today, we've got the announcement that the Lancashire Property Awards deadline is being extended.
02:21So the event itself will take place on the 14th of November.
02:25It's going to showcase the work of the property community in the region, highlighting the success of the developers, the house builders and their partners.
02:33Twelve categories in total.
02:35So that's a great opportunity there to cover a whole host of the major developments, the deals and also the property professionals in the region.
02:43So if you're involved in the Lancashire property market, you now have until the 22nd of August to register an entry.
02:48So, yeah, have a look at our website, you'll be able to find out how to do that.
02:51Definitely worth looking into.
