00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we are looking at items and equipment from the God of War
00:12series takes the most effort to unlock.

00:27Daedalus' Schematics – God of War 3
00:40We'll start off with one that isn't too big a hassle, but can be easy to miss.
00:44In general, finding the godly possessions in God of War 3 isn't all that challenging.
00:49Most of them, Kratos can grab either right before or right after each character dies.
00:54However, Daedalus' schematics are a little trickier than the rest.
00:58Naturally, they're located in his workshop, but the room has multiple portals in it.
01:08You have to pull a lever to raise the ballista up, then run up a wall into the portal facing
01:13downwards.
01:14This leads to another lever, which lowers a platform with two chests.
01:18Back by the ballista, firing it into the portal directly ahead will drop the chests, one of
01:23which holds your prize.
01:28Ivaldi's Deadly Mist Set – God of War
01:42Niflheim can be a fairly intimidating realm when you first encounter it.
01:46Covered in a deadly fog, Kratos and Atreus will be given a time limit for how long they
01:51can stay there.
01:52And if the bar depletes, they'll quickly die.
01:55However, only by continuing your exploration will you get armor that can help you.
01:59There are several resources that can only be found here, hidden in chests and guarded
02:04by enemies.
02:05By taking these resources to Sindri, he can craft you Ivaldi's Deadly Mist Armor Set,
02:10which not only gives you resistance to Niflheim's mist, but gives Kratos minor health regeneration.
02:19However, if you happen to die in Niflheim before reaching Sindri, you'll lose those
02:29resources.
02:38Dark Odyssey Costume – God of War II
02:50God Mode is the hardest difficulty in multiple God of War games.
02:54But in God of War II, it's the second hardest.
02:57We'll talk about what you get from Titan Mode, the hardest this sequel offers, in a
03:02bit, but God Mode is still nothing to sneeze at.
03:04The enemies are still going to hit you much harder, and your useful orbs are going to
03:09be in shorter supply.
03:20By completing this game on this difficulty, you'll get the Dark Odyssey Costume.
03:25It cuts your defense in half, making any replay just a bit more dangerous.
03:30But it also doubles your attack power, and makes it so red orbs go a lot further in upgrading
03:35your weapons.
03:45The Gravedigger's Shovel – God of War, Ghost of Sparta
03:57Ghost of Sparta played things a bit differently with how players unlocked content.
04:02It included a new area called the Temple of Zeus where Kratos could spend red orbs, collected
04:07either in the campaign or through challenge modes.
04:10The highest costing reward was the Roboto's Costume at 250,000 orbs.
04:16But in total, you'd have to spend a million red orbs to unlock everything, and therefore
04:21gain the Temple's hidden prize.
04:30While you get these orbs just by playing, that's still a lot of work.
04:34But by doing so, you'll be led to a secret area with the Gravedigger's Shovel, which
04:39unlocks the ability to play as Zeus in the game's combat challenges.
04:52God Armor – God of War II
05:01Kratos may start the game wearing this armor, but you have to work extra hard to get it
05:06back.
05:07After beating the game, you'll unlock the Challenge of the Titans, seven combat encounters
05:11that can be a major pain.
05:14Some of them task you with defeating enemies a specific way and within a time limit, which
05:18can be nerve-wracking.
05:19However, there's also one where you must defeat all enemies before Kratos runs out
05:24of health, which is constantly draining.
05:34And another where you must defeat all the enemies without getting hit at all.
05:38Plus, you don't get the God Armor just by beating these challenges.
05:42You have to gain enough points to earn a God Ranking.
05:45It doubles all of Kratos' stats though, making it a very tantalizing prize.
05:57Steinbjorn Armor Set – God of War Ragnarok
06:06Anytime after completing Chapter 10 in God of War Ragnarok, Kratos can find a hidden
06:10relic on the frozen Lake of Nine called the Mystical Heirloom.
06:14At first, it seems like this item does nothing, but while it's equipped, you can use it
06:19to access four mini-boss fights against various trolls.
06:23One is at the Derelict Outpost in Midgard, another is at the Forbidden Sands in Alfheim,
06:29and the two at Noatun's Garden in Vanaheim are obviously the hardest.
06:34But after going through the process of tracking these trolls down and defeating them, the
06:38Steinbjorn Armor Set makes a mighty fine prize.
06:49The Waste Guard and Gauntlets give a moderate luck chance to stagger and stun enemies when
06:54Kratos takes damage, while the Chest Piece lets him regain health with each hit after
06:59taking enough damage.
07:07The Blazing Magma Armor Set Muspelheim is the fiery counterpart to Niflheim,
07:22and while it doesn't feature mist that can slowly try to kill you, it's still the harder
07:27of the two.
07:29Made up of combat challenges, you'll be able to craft and buy the Magma Armor Set from
07:33materials you only find here.
07:35Doing so only takes a few fights, but if you want to take full advantage of what it
07:40can offer, you'll need to put in quite a bit of effort.
07:53Upgrading the armor set requires going through many increasingly tougher trials, including
07:58a fight against Gondol who, while not on the level of Sigrun, is one of the hardest Valkyries
08:04in the game.
08:15General Kratos – God of War 2 In God of War 2, Kratos can actually collect
08:26the eyes that he rips from the sockets of Cyclops' enemies in their death animation.
08:32And if players want the General Kratos costume, they'll need to yank out 20 of them.
08:37This may seem tricky at first, given there aren't 20 individual Cyclops encounters
08:41in a single playthrough.
08:43There are other ways though, like farming them in the Challenge of the Titans, or fighting
08:47them in the Arena of the Fates, which adds to your total.
08:5420 is still a fairly large number of them though, and they're pretty formidable enemies.
09:02The costume increases the potency of red orbs by quite a lot while decreasing that of green,
09:08blue, and gold ones, as well as reducing Kratos' attack and defense.
09:21Hilt of Forcebrander – God of War Ragnarok In 2018's God of War, killing all of Odin's
09:32ravens only got you XP, but in Ragnarok, they get you something pretty neat.
09:37After hunting down all 48 of them across the realms, which, trust us, is no small feat,
09:43you'll unlock a secret boss fight against the Raven Keeper.
09:46She's essentially a souped up revenant, but that's still one of the most annoying
09:51enemies of the franchise's Norse era.
09:53She'll frequently teleport around the arena and bring in minions to whittle away your
09:57health, but at a quarter health, she'll summon a freaking dragon.
10:10After taking them both down, you'll earn the rare Hilt of Forcebrander.
10:15It can push enemies back and grant Kratos an aura of protection, making it very useful
10:20if he's getting swarmed.
10:28The Spartan Armor Set – God of War Ragnarok Valhalla
10:40Sony surprised everyone with an unveiled free DLC for God of War Ragnarok at the 2023 Game
10:47Awards, and it is, without a doubt, one of the most difficult areas in the game.
10:53Bringing new story elements as well as roguelike mechanics, it's hard to say how difficult
10:57a time you'll have when so many things are randomized.
11:01However, you'll have no companion, and you'll only unlock cosmetic armor as you go.
11:06Kratos enters with only his weapons, and gains perks as he goes.
11:15Additionally, considering there are a ton of bosses inside, you'll definitely be tested.
11:25While there are additional challenges, beating it once gains you the Spartan Armor Set, and
11:29the ability to make Kratos look like his Greek-era self.
11:36Surtur's Scorched Set – God of War Ragnarok Ragnarok brought back the combat challenges
11:51of Muspelheim, but unlocking the armor here is a bit more of a time commitment.
11:56You'll need to have already completed the six Crucible challenges, which unlocks the
12:01final challenges.
12:11Needless to say, these are much harder than those that precede them.
12:14You'll get a piece of Surtur's Scorched Armor Set after finishing the first, third,
12:19and fourth challenges.
12:20They are all pretty hard, so which ones you choose are down to your skills as a player.
12:25It's one of the best armor sets in the game, though.
12:28The Gauntlets and Girdle make Kratos take less damage and stagger when hit while performing
12:33an attack, and the Cuirass lets him do extra damage while interrupting an enemy's attack.
12:46Mime of War – God of War Chains of Olympus There are a lot of unlockables in God of War
13:00that you can only get by beating an entry on the highest difficulty.
13:04For Chains of Olympus, you get the Mime of War costume.
13:08It isn't as simple as just starting the game on God Mode, as it's called.
13:11The difficulty level is only unlocked after beating the game once.
13:15Not only do enemies naturally hit harder, but orbs are only worth half as much.
13:29The Mime of War is definitely a good reward.
13:32In contrast to God Mode, wearing it multiplies the worth of red orbs by four, and green and
13:38blue orbs by two.
13:40That's on top of the silly appearance and invisible weapons.
13:52Armor of Zeus – God of War The Armor of Zeus can only be gained on a
14:03new game plus playthrough.
14:05That wouldn't be so bad if not for the particular enemies that hold each piece.
14:10Of course, they're Valkyries, and of course, they're three of the strongest ones.
14:15To get the War Belt, you must defeat Hildur in Niflheim with its annoying Deadly Mist
14:21issue.
14:31The Gauntlets are earned from Gondol in Muspelheim, who has extremely destructive fire attacks.
14:41Finally, the Cuirass is held by Sigrun, the queen whose reputation for being a chore should
14:51precede her and who's only fought after all the others are slain.
14:55The set comes with high stats as well as a major increase to damage, both in output and
15:01how much Kratos takes.
15:02It returned in Ragnarok, but was a bit easier to obtain.
15:14Ghost of Sparta – God of War, Ghost of Sparta One of the things you can't obtain in Ghost
15:26of Sparta's Temple of Zeus is a costume named after the game itself.
15:31The Ghost of Sparta costume can only be earned by beating the game on God Mode, which is
15:35the hardest difficulty here.
15:37Naturally, that means it's only for players with the skill and patience to pull it off,
15:42as bosses and enemies can absolutely shred you.
15:45You might find it not even worth the effort.
15:53The costume makes Kratos take twice as much damage as he normally would.
15:57The benefit is that Pharaoh's Bane deals four times the fire damage, and refills drastically
16:03quicker than with any other costume.
16:05Still though, that's only one attack.
16:12Mik Kratos – God of War, Chains of Olympus It's a shame the newer God of War games don't
16:28costumes of the Greek era.
16:30In Chains of Olympus, the Mik Kratos costume made the Ghost of Sparta resemble a Scotsman,
16:35complete with bright red hair, a kilt, and gigantic axes in place of his Blades of Chaos.
16:45Wearing it drastically increases Kratos' damage output, while halving the amount of blue and
16:50green orbs you can collect.
16:52The costume is unlocked by beating the Challenge of Hades, a series of five combat encounters.
16:58It isn't as arduous as some other optional challenges in the series, but a few of them
17:03are still a pain, especially one that has Kratos constantly losing health while enemies
17:08come at him.
17:16Rond of Obliteration – God of War Ragnarok, Valhalla
17:27Players can earn this powerful shield rond in Ragnarok, which charges a projectile-based
17:32attack while Kratos guards, by defeating the post-game boss, the new Valkyrie Queen, Ganon.
17:39However, it's actually a bit harder to get in Valhalla.
17:51You must reach the end of the DLC, conquering the most challenging fight against Tyr on
17:57the Show Me Mastery difficulty, which is the highest difficulty offered.
18:02But that's not all.
18:04You must also choose the Penalty of Breaching Affliction at the beginning of your run, which
18:09makes you weaker and slowly drains health without outright killing you.
18:14Honestly, props to those of you who have done this, because I could not be bobbing.
18:27Athena and Hercules Costumes – God of War II
18:39God Mode is called Titan Mode in God of War II, but no matter what it's called, the
18:43very hard difficulty remains an insurmountable challenge for many players.
18:48In addition to beating the game once to unlock it, Titan Mode increases all enemy's strength
18:52while decreasing yours.
18:54Green and blue orbs aren't quite as potent, while red orbs are much rarer.
19:00Beating Titan Mode gets you two costumes for the price of one, Hercules and Athena.
19:11The Hercules costume doubles your power while halving your defense, and the Athena costume
19:16increases the value of red, green, and blue orbs while also giving a decrease to defense.
19:29The Hilt of Skafnung – God of War Ragnarok
19:40Technically speaking, Kratos gets this hilt upon starting the fit-for-a-king quest in
19:45Ragnarok, but actually being able to use it, that's the tricky part.
19:49Players must hunt down and defeat all 12 Berserkers, a couple of which don't fight alone.
19:55Not only are they naturally scattered throughout the realms, but they're on par with the
20:00Valkyries from the 2018 game.
20:02Which is to say, they're gonna beat the crap out of you.
20:12The final bout against King Krulph is obviously the toughest.
20:16If you don't have your weapons and armor fully upgraded, he'll make you regret it.
20:21Thankfully, the hilt is worth it once you can actually use it.
20:25It summons a group of ghostly swords that make every enemy encounter a breeze.
20:36Radiant Shield of Unity and Aspis of Spartan Fury – God of War
20:47Every God of War game is hard if you play on the highest difficulty.
20:51With less opportunities to heal than the original games, the Norse ones may just have the edge.
20:57But that's far from the only issue.
20:59For the 2018 installments Give Me God of War difficulty, enemies are not only stronger,
21:04quicker, and more durable, but their status effects also deal more damage and last longer.
21:17Beating the game this way will surely satisfy you, but it also comes with a couple of rewards.
21:22These are two shields for Kratos.
21:24The Radiant Shield of Unity and the Aspis of Spartan Fury.
21:28Sadly though, these are purely cosmetic skins for the shield he already has.
21:38Challenge of the Gods Costumes – God of War 2005
21:50The original God of War had multiple silly but rewarding costumes to unlock.
21:54However, it took beating a series of fights that are some of the hardest the series has ever seen.
22:00The Challenge of the Gods is unlocked after beating the game, and tasks you with completing
22:04ten encounters.
22:06Many of them come with time limits, which only add stress to the already daunting criteria.
22:12Most of them throw groups of extremely powerful enemies at you, and the final one is a recipe
22:16for fury.
22:25Kratos must raise a platform by defeating Satyrs and Cerberus pups, who endlessly spawn
22:31and take up quite a bit of room on the minuscule platform.
22:35If you have the patience, this unlocks Chef of War, Ares Armor, Bubbles, Tycoonius, and
22:41Dairy Bastard.
