Birmingham Airport is enhancing its services to better assist passengers with hidden disabilities. Starting from 5th August 2024, Sunflower Lanyard users will need to register at the Assisted Travel desk before proceeding through security. This initiative aims to provide personalised support, ensuring that each traveller's needs are understood and met by trained staff.

00:22Passengers who have booked assistance through their airline or tour operator should follow the current process by visiting the Assisted Travel Desk upon arrival or using help points.
00:33For those needing assistance on the day, registration at the desk is now required.
00:38Each registered customer will receive a tag to indicate their needs to airport colleagues.
00:43The airport has also introduced the Airside Sunflower Lounge, acquired space for customers with hidden disabilities.
00:50Additional amenities include accessible toilets, a changing places facility and interactive play zones.
