00:05I'm Nick Mozesko and alongside me is none other than the Dev K Spades,
00:09but these guys don't want to watch us play.
00:10Joining us, we have none other than Cowboys linebacker,
00:14one of the best to do it in the game,
00:16Micah Parsons, and just a man known as the Madden Millionaire.
00:19But it's none other than Henry.
00:20Gentlemen, thank you so much for hanging out with us.
00:22I like these new intros into the game.
00:24Yeah, for sure.
00:25I mean, intros is something that you see every time you start a game.
00:27So making sure we breathe life into that moment is something that was important to the team.
00:32Micah, you spent a lot of time inside of AT&T Stadium.
00:34How realistic did they get this?
00:36This is super realistic.
00:38The graphics is actually pretty insane.
00:40Talk to me a little bit about high level.
00:42You've heard a lot about boom tech and what's coming into the game,
00:45and that's something that we're going to see right off the bat here in the game.
00:47Yeah, I mean, obviously for the dev team, the big thing was just giving control to the players.
00:51So you speak to boom tech, you know, wanting to take the hit stick,
00:55which to me is probably the greatest addition to the Madden franchise.
00:58And, you know, adding a skill mechanic to it.
01:00Really excited about this, though.
01:01This is the first time.
01:03We're going to see the new kickoff rule in the NFL here in the game
01:07for a lot of these people before the NFL even kicks off with it.
01:10Yeah, absolutely.
01:10Like we got a chance to work with some NFL coaches and just talk to them about
01:13how would you approach this new rule change?
01:16You know, what's some things you would do?
01:17And we were able to kind of take some motivation from those guys and apply it to the game.
01:26Micah on offense first.
01:27We're going to see Henry dealing with the defense.
01:32There's there's one of those hits.
01:33You can see it's less snappy.
01:35If you line it up, it feels rewarding.
01:37Talking about the fact that we added more control on the defensive side
01:40now is going to measure your timing, as well as how well your left stick
01:44is aligned to the ball carrier.
01:45If you get a perfect boom stick, which is what I'm calling it,
01:48you'll see the feedback over the top say boom.
01:50The player indicator ring will turn green at the bottom at his feet.
01:53And that lets you know that you perfectly aligned it.
01:55It feels great.
01:56Henry's having too much fun over there.
01:57Henry, it's two plays into the new game.
01:59You're just enjoying this so much.
02:00It's actually really fun playing this game,
02:03especially when you go in to get somebody that, you know, is a great opponent.
02:08And that was the case there where the hit stick was perfectly squared,
02:12but the timing wasn't perfect.
02:14Something I want to call out that'll compliment Boom Tech
02:16is the ball carrier balance system.
02:18So with this system, you're going to see more physics driven
02:20brokens, stumbles and stumble recovery.
02:23So player's strength, move, speed, ratings all matter more than ever.
02:27Oh, and another thing I should mention,
02:29Boom Tech allows us to let physics inform the outcome of our tackles
02:33so we can play the same tackle start and physics can resolve that tackle
02:36in a number of ways.
02:37So that means we get less scripted outcomes and that's just much more variety.
02:43An early fourth down attempt trying to keep the offense on the field.

02:56Those are over the middle, big hit holds on to the contact.

03:26So this year, you're going to notice that the size of the ball
03:28landing spot speaks to the accuracy of the pass.
03:31The smaller the size, the more accurate the pass and a bigger landing spot
03:34just means that that pass was more inaccurate.
03:36And the color speaks to the catchability with green being 100 percent catchable.
03:41Yellow mean likely catchable and red mean likely uncatchable.

04:25Perfect. It's more like not only like do they like work like really well,
04:29but like it's more realistic.
04:31Like last year, we had the juke where you went like crazy inside and stuff.
04:34Now, like this is like moves you really see on the field to that point.
04:38I mean, the juke that everyone loved.
04:39I like the people liked it, but it's a little bit unrealistic, a little bit warpy.
04:43And we just wanted to replace that asset with something to look more lifelike.
04:46And you still can get busy with it.
04:48You still can get open.
04:49And then like I might be tripping, but Pacheco like
04:52I feel like you're running like you run in real life.
04:54You mean like a kid trying on new shoes?

04:58That was one of the signature locomotion sets that we were able to add this year.
05:01So he has such a unique run style that was something that we went after.
05:05I feel like we really nailed it.
05:07Over the top, got him, found him down to the one yard line.
05:11Now that I think is a great showcase of you guys did a lot of work
05:14with past trajectories as well, trying to make an ability to fit
05:17into tighter windows and make some of those more precision throws.
05:19Yeah. So for a bullet pass, for instance, we sped that pass up
05:22so you can throw it faster.
05:23It's a little bit lower trajectory.
05:24This year, the return of jumping linebackers, linebackers can jump.
05:27So you want to make sure you use lines.
05:29I'm sure he is.

05:38you can get more arc on the lob or a touch pass.

05:56So your time has got to be more precise for starters

06:42We should talk about the new pass protections that's in Madden NFL 25.
06:45More pass protection.
06:47OK, I want to talk about the new slide protection mechanic in the game.
06:50Last year, you can only slide protection in four ways.
06:53And this year is eight ways.
06:54For me, my favorite is half slide, where you can take one half of your offense
06:57in line and give them a slide protection and you'll see block and match up.
07:01So you know exactly who is blocking who.
07:03And you'll see the flame icon on the unblocked player
07:05or the hot player on that play.
07:07Second and short clock running.
07:11I like the fire. I like him.

08:17But at the same time, you do have a slightly bigger radius
08:21when you're doing those one handed catches.
08:23You're also more susceptible to knockouts and drops
08:25depending on your spec catch rating.
08:27I also see new hot routes.
08:29Yeah, Nick, new hot route.
08:30So the outside receiver now you're going to see a speed out
08:34where it used to be a regular out the post replaced the streak.
08:37And now Zig has been removed and now you can run a corner route.
08:40The slot receiver now gets a post route where it used to be a fade
08:44and they get a corner route where it used to be a zig.
08:47For tight ends, a post route replaced the delayed fade.
08:50A slant replaced a block and release cross and a corner route
08:54now replaces what used to be block and release flat.
08:56Halfbacks got new hot routes as well.
08:58So the flat route replaces what used to be wheel
09:01and a triple option now replaces what used to be a check and release.

12:24Really love also the addition of three different commentary

12:28Depending on what you feel, Brandon Gaunt and Charles
12:30Davis have been so good for so many years,
12:32but now you got guys like Mike Tirico in the game.
12:35I mean, that's amazing.
12:36You got Kate Scott in the game.
12:37This is going to be a lot of fun.

12:47where you're going to see 900-plus new plays intended
12:50to get these superstars to ball.
12:52And you're going to see some of the same plays ran

12:59as well to try to get it to be more consistent for the players.

13:14Now we have the ability in these formations
13:16to show a different cover shell.
13:17So you're going to have the ability, based
13:19on your personnel, to showcase whether you
13:21can show that cover 2, you can show a cover 0.
13:23And that gives them flexibility to the defense,
13:25gives them an ability to disguise their coverages.
13:28One of the additions here in Madden NFL 25,
13:31those new custom stems.
13:32You're able to change some of these routes,
13:34and you can run them in five-route increments
13:35and really diversify your offense just
13:37from the adjustments you're making.
13:39Yeah, you could take, you know, a regular out, 8-yard out,
13:41push it further down the field, pull it more shallow.
13:44Yeah, you see them changing that little spot and go.
13:47That's probably my favorite thing
13:48to do in the game right now.
14:01This year, you're going to notice several improvements
14:03with our cover 3.
14:04You're going to see cover 3 get the escape
14:05call or the skinny call when you face trips or bunch.
14:08You're just going to see your defense face
14:10these formations in a more authentic way,
14:13more like what you would see on NFL Sundays.
14:16100 combined points in the first game,
14:18and we got 0 in the second quarter.
14:21Different feel.
14:22Different strategies, for sure.
14:25Look at C-Mac.
14:26I think I saw C-Mac there.
14:28It was definitely a smaller gap to run through.
14:31And you saw him get skinny and run through that hole.

14:35just contextual awareness.
14:36You're going to see these guys get skinny,
14:38move the ball away, and just look more lifelike.

14:48and those velocity abilities that
14:50were so important last year.
14:51This year, you're able to do it without those velocity abilities.

18:04But I would like to point out they
18:06have gotten significantly closer to the actual screen.
18:09I mean, Henry is a mere two steps away at this point.
18:12I tried to switch stick right there.
18:14I tried to go crazy with the switch stick.
18:15It does have a risk reward factor of like you're
18:17either going to get a huge turnover,
18:19but you also might put yourself out of the play.

18:36What's one thing playing this game that stood out to you,
18:40maybe one thing that you liked the most in Madden NFL 25?
18:44Biggest thing?
18:45Probably the stemming.
18:46Stemming, you can get so creative with offenses now,
18:48especially with the new hot routes, having a post
18:51and corner at your access at any point.
18:54What was one of your favorite things
18:56you saw from the game today?
18:57I really like the run game.
18:58Also, I do like the passing, too.
19:00Yeah, I saw a lot of those.
19:01You were able to, I think, make throws
19:03that we weren't able to do last year.

19:05I like how the high ball is more accurate, too.
