00:00Here's a look at what we had yesterday, the Giants and the
00:06Lions. Players got into a scuffle during their joint
00:09practices. That time of year, says Ari Mayrov. Danny Rogers,
00:14who is the Lions team reporter, said it was the most fight she
00:18had ever seen at a single practice. So, buy or sell DRS
00:22to you. Joint practice fights are tired like they're old news
00:28at this point. Nah, sell that. You gotta have fights here.
00:31It's ingrained in society, in the NFL, in high school football,
00:35and in college football. Now, typically, in the summer camp,
00:37it's so hot and dusty out there, you just fight yourself.
00:40It's better to fight another opponent and sort of rally
00:42around but also keep in mind why these fights are starting
00:45here. The guys are trying tooth and nail to make rosters and a
00:48lot of times, it's not necessarily the starters
00:50fighting each other. It's the backups trying to show that
00:53they have heart. They're not gonna back down but also, from
00:55a Detroit Lions perspective, they're built in and ingrained
00:59with Dan Campbell's, their head coach, that they're gonna be
01:01the bullies. They're gonna beat you around. So, don't think the
01:04New York Giants coming to even day one of that practice are
01:06like, well, one thing straight. I don't know if there's gonna
01:08be a scoreboard or not but you're not gonna come in here
01:10and punk us here in our own, you know, quote unquote,
01:13gymnasium at this point. So, I don't mind the fights here
01:16because we've all been through it. It's 90 degrees. You're
01:19irritated. You just had practice for four straight days
01:22and you get a cheap shot in the back or you get held cuz keep
01:24in mind, you're not going to get fine. Like, sure, your
01:27coach could send you to the showers early from practice but
01:30it's not a regular season football game. You're not gonna
01:32get suspended and also, things go on in practice when you have
01:35those joint practice that don't go on in games. You can hold a
01:38little bit more. You can do things that a little bit shady
01:40and the other guy is going to get upset and therefore, you're
01:43gonna be throwing punches. I don't mind the fights. It builds
01:46team camaraderie as well. It's just a thing that the NFL,
01:49college football, and high school football happens.
