00:00The Philz. Philadelphia opened up an early lead once again. It
00:07did not end that way. The Philz since the all-star break four
00:10and twelve. The Dodgers ten and six. Today, it's virtually a
00:15pick em in Los Angeles. Clayton Kershaw, yet another start. His
00:20third of this MLB season. Minus one ten for Los Angeles. Minus
00:24one oh six on the other side for Philadelphia. The over under
00:28eight and a half. Can the Philz even this set or the Dodgers
00:32already at least win the series against Philadelphia tonight?
00:36They should. If this was 10 years ago, Clayton Kershaw,
00:40Dodgers, you know, Chavez Ravine, it should be an easy
00:42victory for the Dodgers. I don't think that's gonna be the
00:44case because of what we possibly are getting out of
00:46Clayton Kershaw tonight but let's we'll start here with the
00:49Philadelphia Philly side of things. Christopher Sanchez on
00:51the mound looking for a bounce back effort and quite frankly,
00:53the Philly's entire lineup is looking for bounce back efforts
00:56on a day-to-day basis but if we are looking at just the power
00:59numbers for Christopher Sanchez against him this year, he's a
01:02left-handed pitcher. Take a look at this. Lefties and righties
01:04combined been an 075 ISO. That is tremendous. Last 30 days, it
01:08does rise a little bit to 094 which means he's going to keep
01:11the ball in the ballpark and also limit the damage of
01:15triples and doubles hopefully holding in the singles but also
01:17you gotta take a look at who he's going up against. The
01:20Dodgers. Typically, it's like, hey, that's a pretty good
01:22hitting team. Not against lefties and not over the past
01:2430 days, Ben. You take a look at this lineup. Tasker
01:27Hernandez and Freddie Freeman. Twenty-six at bats and twenty-one
01:30bats combined along with Ahmed Rosario have solid numbers
01:33power-wise and weighted on base percentage. The other guys,
01:36Shohei Otani, Will Smith, Pajes, Hernandez, Lux, and Ahmed
01:39have been dreadful against left-handed pitchers. So,
01:42Sanchez in a pitcher's ballpark brings his A game. You think
01:46runs might be of a premium here to the Dodgers. Now, let's flip
01:49it over to Clayton Kershaw who again, we're not dealing with
01:51Clayton Kershaw, the ghost of the past when he was maybe the
01:53most dominant pitcher in Major League Baseball. He's a
01:56left-handed pitcher that really struggles with right-handed
01:58batters but this Philly's lineup, if you're looking at
02:00the first six batters, five of those guys elevated numbers
02:03against left-handed pitching. The only guy that's not
02:06elevated is JT Romuto with one at bat which obviously he
02:09probably either struck out or grounded out at that point but
02:11Schwarber, Turner, Harper, Boehm, and Castellanos, all
02:14higher numbers. So, if we're just being optimistic tonight
02:17and saying, don't take a look at what the Phillies have done
02:19in the past, they do have the better pitcher on the mound and
02:22the better lineup in play tonight. That should equate to
02:24a victory. I'll stand on that.
