00:00After Debbie brought near record rains to this region, AccuWeather correspondent Leslie Hudson joins us now with more. Leslie?
00:09Hey there, yeah, it has been an unbelievable afternoon here along Black Creek where they are in a flood warning
00:16and as you can see the river has now turned into the road and it has spilled over into the
00:22the yards of all these residents and I'm going to turn the camera around so you guys can see what
00:27is going on. The road is completely impassable here and there's also another juncture a little
00:32bit further down as you can see. There are some homes that are on higher ground here but
00:37I'm standing, it could be much deeper, I'm at least in ankle deep but look at this. This is
00:42the river, this is the, or the creek, the Black Mill Creek. This is again just kind of racing back
00:48towards these homes. We shot some video earlier today. Take a look and you'll see again as the
00:55the water just continues to get right up to the edge of the homes. The good news in all of this
01:01is most of these homes are elevated where I am. However, there are several hundred homes along the
01:07Black Creek that are in jeopardy and the emergency officials here in Clay County continue to keep a
01:15close eye on all of this because they may have to tell the residents to evacuate. Of course, that's
01:20what nobody wants to do after they just weathered a tropical storm and that's what they're hoping
01:25they will not have to do. But if the waters continue to rise with this creek, which again
01:30spills out of the St. Johns, everything on this side of the state pretty much feeds into the St.
01:35Johns and it is a major player when there is a tropical system overhead. Now as you take a look
01:42again, we'll take a look at some of the live pictures if you want to. There's some homes again
01:47that have been up on stilts. The one that's off in the distance there, back in 2017 when Hurricane
01:52Irma came through, the homeowner told me that the waters got all the way to the base of those
01:58pylons. So again, incredible amount of flooding that has been in with this system and continues
02:04to be an impact for these folks. They are in good spirits here, I'll tell you. I've talked to several
02:09of the homeowners trying to keep a positive attitude when you've been dealt some lemonade,
02:15but it'll be a long several days for these folks in weeks. And not just here in this part of
02:20Florida, but all around Florida, the same scenario is going to play out. These flood waters continue
02:25to rise from Debbie. We're live in Middleburg, Florida. For now, I'm Leslie Hudson, back to you.
02:32All right, Leslie, thank you for that report and we want to take a look at what is to come here
02:36with this. So we've had a lot of damage in areas around not just Florida with flooding, but also
02:41into South Carolina too. So Bree, when we take a look at what is to come with this storm system,
02:47there's a future to it as well.
