00:00now to Fraser Jackson in Washington. Fraser there's no doubt that the
00:04Democratic Party is full of pep and energy as a result of these two being at
00:10the front of the nomination but we've still got 90 or so days to go before the
00:16actual day of voting don't we? Yeah it's still a long road ahead but of course
00:22the Democrats will be hoping to capitalize off this energy which has
00:26been sparked by the fact that Kamala Harris is now the top of the ticket and
00:31that was also something that Tim Walz said as well when she when he first
00:34took to the stage he thanked Kamala Harris for bringing the joy back to the
00:38Democratic Party that was being used by many Democrats across the networks as
00:43they appear on news networks here in the US. There really is an incredible sense
00:49that they could do it here in the United States the Democrats are really feeling
00:54energized the energy in that room last night was honestly palpable it was it
00:59was quite something to witness and something that you see somewhat rarely
01:04in a political rally but Kamala Harris does have a ways to go her and Tim
01:10Walz will be heading off on a battleground tour over the next few days
01:14they're trying to shore up the votes there one of the reasons Tim Walz was
01:17picked was because she thinks that he will be a good addition to the ticket in
01:22those blue wall states he represents those working-class those middle-class
01:28Americans and Kamala Harris hopes that she he will balance the tickets in order
01:33to appeal to those voters the more Joe Biden kind of voters those people who
01:37once voted for Obama and then swayed and moved to Donald Trump and have had
01:42trouble coming back home since since 2016 so hopefully Tim Walz and her eyes
01:48will bring those people home and they've got the battleground states to try to
01:51persuade those people over the course of the next couple of days before they
01:55eventually heads to the Democratic National Convention which is taking
01:58place on the 19th of August where Kamala Harris will officially become the nominee
02:03and then hopefully they that they hope they can carry that momentum through to
02:08the beginning of November when the election actually takes place indeed
02:11thanks for that that's Fraser Jackson reporting there from Washington
