00:00My name is Mia and four years ago I left Ireland and moved to Tenerife with my son and my partner.
00:05My son was two years old at this time and now he's seven and I'm letting you guys into a typical day in our lives.
00:10This is the most typical day. We woke up, the first thing my son asked was to go to the pool.
00:14We go to the pool literally twice a day. At the moment we're minding a friend's dog so we just
00:18gave him some cuddles when we came home. There was laundry to do. All of the sand from the clothes
00:22always piles up in like the rubber bit in the washing machine so I clean that up, things that
00:25you don't think about when you're living abroad. Then I headed up to our roof terrace to hang out
00:28my load of laundry. This is the best thing about living in a country where the sun is always shining
00:33and it's always hot. It's so easy to do laundry. This was already my third load of the day. I had
00:37already put one out this morning that had fully dried. As you can see from the view there, wind is
00:41kind of hazy and that is because we have a clima at the moment which is sand from the Sahara desert
00:46up into the air in Tenerife. This is a really typical thing that happens in Tenerife but not
00:50the nicest thing to happen especially when the weather is already 30 degrees and it's already
00:54really humid and really hot. Extra sand does not help. I decided to clean the kitchen and then I
00:59made my dinner and I also started to meal prep for my meals the next day. At the moment I'm doing
01:04some personal training with an all-women's gym kind of situation that I found which I'm really
01:08happy I found and it took me four years to find so believe me when you move abroad it will take
01:12you some time to find your feet and find your people. After the gym I headed home and brought
01:17the dog for a walk and that was my day. My name's Mia. I'm four years ago. I moved from Ireland to
01:20Spain. I wanted to show you what a typical day looks like after I come home from work and collect
01:24Levi from school. What I'm about to show you might be really simple but it's one of the main reasons
01:28why I love living in Spain. The culture of like coming home, turning on the telly just doesn't
01:33exist here. There's so much life after work and after school. There's so much life in the evening
01:37that happens here. This is around 6.30 to 7.15. We were heading to get our hair cut and yes that is
01:43him trying to flip me off. After the haircuts we headed to a home store called Leroy Merlin. One thing I
01:47will say is I miss the stores being filled with like Easter decorations. We celebrate Easter here
01:51but more of a religious side of it instead of like let's say the Easter bunny so they don't
01:54have Easter bunny treats or Easter bunny decorations that you can get. Even though over the years I do
01:58see them converting more into these kind of holidays like for example Halloween wasn't a
02:02thing here when we came here four years ago but now they really do celebrate it. There's a little
02:06coffee shop attached so we did get a takeaway coffee and takeaway hot chocolate. By the way as
02:10well guys I'm going to do a video about culture shocks but one of them is that you will find a
02:13beer tap everywhere. Can you imagine walking into Woody's DIY at home in Ireland and there's just a
02:17beer tap? I've committed myself to spring cleaning my house all this week so I'm glad I got all these
02:21things. As I was walking out I noticed how beautiful the mountains were. I had to take a
02:24video. If I ever left Tenerife I know I'd miss the mountains. If you don't know the story by now how
02:29my name is Mia. I moved from Ireland to Tenerife to start a new life four years ago. I want to start
02:33committing to making more TikToks but that means bringing you along a normal day in our lives and
02:36not just the fun things so here we go. This is just a typical day in our life at the moment. Me and
02:40Levi are off for summer together and guys when I tell you it's getting hot in Tenerife it is so
02:44freaking hot. We went for a morning walk this morning. We're minding a friend's dog and on our
02:49way home we saw these two guys pull this electric scooter out of the ocean. I have so many questions.
02:53I have been promising Levi some Star Wars Lego for pretty much all summer so we hit up two
02:58toy stores today. One in Las Cristianas and then we headed to Siam Mall which I hate going to this
03:02toy store because it's so overly priced but anyway we secured the Lego. I stopped at Mercadona on
03:07the way home, got some groceries and if you can see there I dropped my yogurt on the way up from
03:11the car. We spent the rest of the day making Lego. We then stopped off in the park for an hour and
03:15watched the most beautiful sunset and after we got home I just sat down and did some freelance work
03:20and of course adjusted the vision board because there's been some amazing life updates recently.
