00:10go from Rams to Chargers, by the way, but the Rams practice with the Chargers this past
00:16weekend.
00:17Puka Nakua got hurt, although I'll play for you.
00:19In fact, why don't we just play it for Eric right now, Alex?
00:22Here's what Sean McVay, the coach of the Rams, said about Puka Nakua.
00:26And then when we come back, I want to I want to double down on this.
00:28Go ahead and play that, Alex.
00:29And you know, it's just going to be week to week with him, nothing serious, nothing
00:33structurally.
00:34He'll be in good shape and he'll recover and we'll be ready to go.
00:37No threat of anything for Detroit.
00:39OK, so Sean McVay seems very positive about Puka Nakua.
00:43I'm not 100 percent sure I buy all of that.
00:47But in addition to losing Puka Nakua, at least for now, three starting offensive linemen
00:53for the Rams are down and they went out and they signed three guys yesterday.
00:58One guy played for the Patriots last year.
01:00He's, you know, career backup player, six or seven year veteran at a UCLA.
01:04Two guys came from just having played in the UFL.
01:08Right.
01:09And according to the reports, it's not just because of the starting offensive linemen
01:12that are out, but even the Rams backup offensive lineman got beat up by the Chargers this past
01:18weekend.
01:19What can you tell us about the Rams situation?
01:21Well, as you said, they got three guys out on their starting offensive line.
01:26Kevin Stein, left tackle, he has an ankle injury, Jonah Jackson, who they gave a lot
01:30of money to.
01:31I think it's a shoulder for Jonah.
01:33And then Alaric Jackson, I believe, is dealing with a lower leg injury.
01:37He's their left tackle.
01:38So that is more concerning to me than Puka being out for a little bit, because when you
01:44have a 36 year old quarterback, that protection up front is going to be paramount in order
01:48to keep Stafford on the field.
01:50And it's one of the reasons they made the investment, both in Jonah Jackson and Kevin
01:54Johnson, their right guard, who they picked up from Pittsburgh last year and played really
01:58well for them.
02:00And so when you go and sign three guys like they did, I think it's more in terms of just
02:04being able to practice because you have those off those starters out, you need to be able
02:09to go out and get reps with the twos and threes.
02:12And so I think it's just more of being a practice for McVay.
02:16But longer term, you are concerned about those injuries to those starters, particularly Jackson,
02:22because he's coming off of an injury for last year.
02:25And so that's going to be something that I'm keeping an eye on.
02:29I am going to go watch their joint practice against the Cowboys on Thursday.
02:34And so, again, that'll be something I'll watch out for both the offensive line and then who's
02:38giving the reps for Puka now that he's not playing.
