Peaceful protestors in Preston rally together to stand up against violent and racist riots

The planned Preston protests took place tonight yet the atmosphere was thankfully calm and peaceful.  The heavy police presence was to be expected following the number of violent protests and riots that have taken place recently across the county and in Lancashire.

00:00OK, we're out of the system, but let's look to the left.

00:05As we always do, there are many, many, many more of us than there used to be.

00:10Always was, always is.

00:16And I want to point out that today, across the country,

00:20we are basically now working against the wall.

00:23We're trying to make this work for us, and we're taking damage,

00:27and we have to keep going, and we're not prepared to fight the virus.

00:31And I would say, we're out.

00:33We need to move forward as a nation,

00:36but in good times and in bad times,

00:38we have to be able to act,

00:40and we have to be able to demand from the nation,

00:42we are going to rally,

00:44and we're going to do it Saturday afternoon,

00:46and we're going to try and do it,

00:49and we're going to try and do it,

00:51and we're going to make sure that we start to set the agenda,

00:55an anti-fascist, anti-racist agenda,

00:58and we're going to make it clear

01:00that the ordinary people, the vast majority,

01:02aren't going to stand up against fascist violence

01:05that we've seen over the last week,

01:07that we stand up to it all.

01:12And that we stand up to racism,

01:14whenever it comes, in some way, in some way.

01:17So please, if you are a member of this group,

01:20if you are a member of this group of families,

01:22I think there will be similar events in Lancaster,

01:24I know there will be similar events in Shoreditch,

01:26so if you are proud, join that rally,

01:29and make it clear that we are an anti-racist,

01:32anti-communist, and we join in this country,

01:34and we will not be pelted by the minority,

01:37we will not be pelted by the fascists,

01:39and we will not be pelted by the enablers,

01:41whether that's Israel Al-Baghdadi,

01:43or Kia Sedama,

01:45and we will not be pelted,

01:47and we will not be pelted,

01:49and we will not be pelted,

01:51and we will not be pelted,

01:53and we will continue to make sure

01:55that we are here, standing in position,

01:57whenever we can.

01:59So as we said, there are none of them attending tonight,

02:01so now we need to prepare.
