00:08:00He has no sense of direction.
00:08:01He has no sense of direction.
00:08:02He has no sense of direction.
00:08:03He has no sense of direction.
00:08:04He has no sense of direction.
00:08:05He has no sense of direction.
00:08:06He has no sense of direction.
00:08:07He has no sense of direction.
00:08:08He has no sense of direction.
00:08:09He has no sense of direction.
00:08:10He has no sense of direction.
00:08:11He has no sense of direction.
00:08:12He has no sense of direction.
00:08:13He has no sense of direction.
00:08:14Well, a little bit off on that headscissors.
00:08:16Notice how Brad turns his body so he can't hook the hold right.
00:08:20This enables Brad to turn his head and try to pop out of there.
00:08:26Brad out of it.
00:08:27Nicely done.
00:08:28But Martin Bagwell back to the attack once again.
00:08:30Keeping the quick man on the mat.
00:08:32Very good strategy employed here by one half of the American males.
00:08:35Well, Bagwell knows the reputation of Armstrong.
00:08:37Brad's very good.
00:08:39So this is not a match to get fancy with.
00:08:41This is a match to take your time.
00:08:43Hopefully, let Brad Armstrong make a mistake.
00:08:46Because if you do, Brad will beat you.
00:08:48Ladies and gentlemen, we have to take a commercial break.
00:08:51And we are red hot already.
00:08:53A lot going on.
00:08:54A lot still to come.
00:08:56The NWO is here.
00:08:57The Giant.
00:08:58Is he waiting for Sting to return or not?
00:09:00I don't know.
00:09:01DBI, he's with him.
00:09:02And he's always got his checkbook.
00:09:04We'll be right back.
00:09:05Stay with us.
00:09:08Back on Nitro and live from the Van Andel Arena in downtown.
00:09:13Grand Rapids, Michigan.
00:09:14Brand new arena.
00:09:15Standing room only.
00:09:17This is the hottest ticket in town right now.
00:09:19And we've got two men giving it their all here, Larry,
00:09:22in this opening battle of this two-hour live Nitro event.
00:09:25Well, so far, I'd say they're even on point.
00:09:27Bagwell looks like he's getting a little.
00:09:29Oh, my goodness.
00:09:30Whoa.
00:09:33Armstrong's not the guy to get ticked off like this.
00:09:36He'll come at you.
00:09:38How about that drop kick?
00:09:41And he sends him outside.
00:09:44That's what a slap in the face will do for you.
00:09:47Well, it looks like Bagwell is getting frustrated.
00:09:49But again, against a competitor like Brad Armstrong,
00:09:53you've got to use your head.
00:09:54I mean, you don't want to play beat the clock.
00:09:57This is beat the opponent.
00:09:59But one thing you want to do, Larry,
00:10:01during the month of November is pick up the intensity.
00:10:04Well, of course, you say, and you're right,
00:10:06you want to do that always in the ring.
00:10:08But now that World War III is looming,
00:10:10where 60 men will collide in the three-ring battle royale
00:10:15where the winner will get the first shot
00:10:18at Hulk Hogan's WCW World Heavyweight title,
00:10:21you want to pick up the intensity
00:10:23because that night, it'll be every man for themselves.
00:10:26And what if a guy like Brad Armstrong can win it?
00:10:29Well, then he's going to have an opportunity of a lifetime.
00:10:32You've got 60 competitors
00:10:34all trying to achieve the dream of dreams, the ultimate.
00:10:40And that's the prize at World War III,
00:10:42if you can survive.
00:10:45If you can survive,
00:10:46Brad Armstrong takes a nasty spillout
00:10:49at the feet of Scotty Riggs,
00:10:51one of the American males, and Mark Bagwell,
00:10:55very happy about what's going on in the ring so far.
00:10:58Bagwell's got that intensity.
00:11:00But if you take a look around
00:11:02at the competitors in WCW...
00:11:04Oh, Bagwell!
00:11:05I think Brad Armstrong's hurt.
00:11:07Yeah, he hit hard. Bagwell was right on target.
00:11:11I think he hurt himself, too.
00:11:13I think both of them are down. There's no question.
00:11:15But the man who is as intense as anyone
00:11:18is Lex Luger right now.
00:11:20And if you've got to pick a favorite,
00:11:21I know it's very early to pick a favorite
00:11:23because we've still got 20 days to go
00:11:25until the big event.
00:11:26Less now than three weeks to go.
00:11:28I would think Luger, based on the intensity,
00:11:30there you see the Giant.
00:11:31He is watching this match-up
00:11:33along with Ted DiBiase and the crowd.
00:11:36This is typical NWO intimidation here.
00:11:39But I've got to figure
00:11:40that there's a little bit of concern
00:11:42in the camp of the NWO right now
00:11:45as they are watching on.
00:11:46Well, they better be since Piper's showed up again.
00:11:50Well, now they're leaving.
00:11:51Well, now they're going away.
00:11:53I don't know. You know, I still go back
00:11:55at the opening of the telecast.
00:11:56You saw Sting in the upper reaches
00:11:59of this arena.
00:12:01And you saw him leave.
00:12:02You saw the members of the NWO looking.
00:12:07Oh! DDT!
00:12:09And I can only think they are waiting
00:12:11on Sting to return.
00:12:12I don't know what's going on.
00:12:14But as we said last week,
00:12:15if Sting goes to the NWO,
00:12:17there goes the balance of power.
00:12:19Almost got a three-count that time.
00:12:21See, the problem is,
00:12:22I don't think Sting knows what's going on.
00:12:24That's the problem.
00:12:25He's a lost soul.
00:12:27He's got to pick the yin or the yang,
00:12:29the head or the tail.
00:12:30You got to be a something
00:12:32before you can direct all your energy.
00:12:37You can see the wear and tear
00:12:39of this opening bout of these two men.
00:12:41High-impact wrestling.
00:12:43Only the opening bout.
00:12:44And as we said before, ladies and gentlemen,
00:12:47you got to keep it right here.
00:12:48We will be hearing from Eric.
00:12:50There's a glancing blow on the top of the head
00:12:52from Eric Bischoff a little bit later on.
00:12:55Meeting with Rowdy Roddy Piper,
00:12:57attempting to sign.
00:12:58And I got to think, Larry, he's going to do it.
00:13:00And we're going to have that announcement
00:13:01later on in this telecast.
00:13:03The match of the decade.
00:13:04Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper.
00:13:06The one match that every fan worldwide
00:13:10has been wanting to see from day one.
00:13:12Bagwell!
00:13:13One, two, and three!
00:13:15He got him!
00:13:19And he earned a two.
00:13:22Well, you know, Armstrong took a bad shot
00:13:24outside the ring.
00:13:25Bagwell was right on the money.
00:13:27And I don't think Armstrong ever recovered from it.
00:13:30He couldn't get his win back.
00:13:32And Bagwell, he capitalized on the situation.
00:13:36It's WCW Monday Night Raw.
00:13:39When we come back in this telecast,
00:13:41Diamond Dallas Page.
00:13:42Big win for Bagwell.
00:13:44The match, will it be signed?
00:13:46Hogan and Piper.
00:13:47We're going to find out live tonight.
00:13:50We are back on TNT.
00:13:53You look at a standing room only crowd
00:13:56at the Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
00:14:00Where WCW is, like it is all over the world,
00:14:04number one in wrestling.
00:14:06The fans are red hot here tonight.
00:14:08Great wrestling action.
00:14:09The fans here know, as well as you fans,
00:14:12watching on television all across the world.
00:14:15That we are on pins and needles here tonight.
00:14:17On the verge of signing.
00:14:19The biggest match ever.
00:14:21The match of the decade.
00:14:23Hulk Hogan.
00:14:24Roddy Roddy Piper.
00:14:25Hogan is here.
00:14:26He's on pins and needles as well.
00:14:28We're going to be talking more about that.
00:14:30We'll be hearing from Eric Bischoff.
00:14:32Now, as Diamond Dallas makes his way to the ring,
00:14:34some very interesting things happened last week.
00:14:37And they always seem to do here on Nitro.
00:14:40The Wild Cards are back.
00:14:42And they always seem to do here on Nitro.
00:14:44The Wild Diamond Dallas was wrestling last week, Larry.
00:14:47We saw members of the NWO in the stands.
00:14:51Here comes Diamond Dallas and his opponent here is Ice Drake.
00:14:55But again, Diamond Dallas Page would be an excellent recruit
00:14:59for the New World Order.
00:15:00Here's a guy that was in the gutter.
00:15:02Now he's gotten back to his feet.
00:15:04But boy, it would be hard to turn down a gigantic check
00:15:08from Ted DiBiase.
00:15:10Ice train.
00:15:11Look at it.
00:15:12This guy's neck's so big, he couldn't get his coat on.
00:15:15All right.
00:15:16We're going to show you that footage, I understand,
00:15:18from a week ago.
00:15:20Here it is.
00:15:21Now, Diamond Dallas was wrestling.
00:15:22You see that Hall and Nash, the outsiders, as they always are,
00:15:26perched in the stands are cheering.
00:15:28When Diamond Dallas put the diamond cutter on,
00:15:30they apparently were cheering Diamond Dallas.
00:15:32And like he said, you know, they obviously
00:15:35want to strengthen their ranks.
00:15:38And obviously, the number one man they want to strengthen
00:15:40their ranks with is Sting.
00:15:42But is Diamond Dallas?
00:15:44A little discussion going on.
00:15:46Did you see that?
00:15:47No.
00:15:48You were looking at the same monitor I was.
00:15:50He was whispering something to Nick Patrick.
00:15:53And Nick Patrick, if you'll recall,
00:15:56at Slim Jim's Halloween Havoc on October 27th,
00:15:59had the ring in his pocket all along.
00:16:01Something's up here with Page, the NWO,
00:16:05and of course, as always, Nick Patrick.
00:16:06He had the ring in the pocket.
00:16:07His job as referee is to award it to the winner.
00:16:10Well, I know that.
00:16:11But the ring had been missing up until that point.
00:16:13No one knew where it was.
00:16:15Nick Patrick denied knowing where the ring was.
00:16:19Well, I tell you, you never know what's going to happen in WCW.
00:16:22And there they are, the World Tag Team Champions.
00:16:26This is looking live here.
00:16:28Hall and Nash, the outsiders.
00:16:30It's a disgusting sight.
00:16:32But what they are doing is one positive thing.
00:16:35Again, with the manipulation,
00:16:37and they're almost like sending Diamond Dallas,
00:16:41you know, like a good vibe,
00:16:44like they appreciate his talent.
00:16:46Trying to wave to him during his matches,
00:16:48make him feel like he's got a home
00:16:51if he accepts very subliminal domination.
00:16:57I don't think there's any question
00:16:59that Diamond Dallas would jump to them, too.
00:17:01I think Diamond Dallas looks out for one person,
00:17:03and that's himself.
00:17:05He has no allegiance to anyone.
00:17:07They better keep his eyes on Ice Trade.
00:17:09Look at this guy.
00:17:10Looks like he's got four legs.
00:17:12What a huge arm.
00:17:14He is tremendous.
00:17:16What an athletic specimen Ice Trade is.
00:17:18And he will back down with no one.
00:17:20Well, it's impressive to watch him move.
00:17:22I mean, this guy can move a man over 300 pounds.
00:17:25Boy, Diamond ran into him, and that's smart.
00:17:28No, not at all.
00:17:29But Diamond Dallas, one thing you can say about him,
00:17:32they are leaving.
00:17:33They are not watching his match.
00:17:35So what's going on here?
00:17:37What they're doing?
00:17:39Again.
00:17:40Something's up here tonight, I can tell you that.
00:17:42And I know we're on pins and needles
00:17:44about the eminent announcement of Piper and Hogan
00:17:46tonight on this program.
00:17:47But something else is up.
00:17:48We see Sting.
00:17:49We see the Giant looking at Sting.
00:17:51Sting left.
00:17:52The Giant left.
00:17:54Paul and Nash, they come in.
00:17:55They leave.
00:17:56Subliminal manipulation.
00:17:59The New World owner is very good at taking advantage of Nitro.
00:18:03This is a live show.
00:18:05They can't be stopped.
00:18:07They cannot be edited out.
00:18:08They can basically do what they want.
00:18:10That's a good point.
00:18:11And they're taking advantage of it.
00:18:15No doubt about it.
00:18:16Pulling down on the head of Ice Train.
00:18:19And that time, Ice Train a little bit too close.
00:18:21They're too close to the ropes.
00:18:23Diamond was waiting for him.
00:18:24Look at the grandfather of wrestling
00:18:26Frustrated, but Ice Train went down.
00:18:30The grandfather of wrestling?
00:18:32Well, whatever.
00:18:33You mean the godfather of WCW.
00:18:35That's what he thinks he is.
00:18:36Kenny Long.
00:18:38Kenny Long has been quite a role model for young people worldwide.
00:18:42Just ask around.
00:18:43And you can't deny that.
00:18:44And you can't knock that.
00:18:45Well, I don't talk to young people.
00:18:47So I don't annoy myself.
00:18:50Right in the snow in the back.
00:18:54Little lenient on the break that time from Nick Patrick.
00:18:58And I don't know.
00:18:59It seems to me all the signs are pointing.
00:19:01Ladies and gentlemen, this is only hour number one.
00:19:04I'm going to be with you through the entire hour.
00:19:06Join in hour two by Bobby the Brain Heenan, by Mike Today.
00:19:10And later on in this telecast, we will talk to Eric Bischoff
00:19:14on the telephone.
00:19:16I know he's been working very hard to get this match signed.
00:19:19Truly, Piper Hogan, the match we've all wanted to see.
00:19:24Here's the cover.
00:19:25Got a one count that time.
00:19:26Page out.
00:19:27Try to close line.
00:19:28Oh, my goodness.
00:19:30No doubt about it.
00:19:31It would be the biggest match of the 20th century.
00:19:35I know they're doing all they can to sign it.
00:19:37And, in fact, we could be getting the call any second.
00:19:41Any time.
00:19:42So stay right with us.
00:19:43We could be getting that call.
00:19:44I know he's been working long and hard.
00:19:46And we'll talk to him.
00:19:47We're also going to talk to Lee Marshall later on tonight
00:19:50as WCW goes worldwide.
00:19:52You know, our fans in Norfolk know that World War III
00:19:55is coming to the Norfolk Sculpt.
00:19:57That's where the event will be held live Sunday, November 24th.
00:20:02The Pancake.
00:20:03Tickets are available at the Bob Zales and Ticketmaster locations there.
00:20:07Here's the lateral press.
00:20:08One, two.
00:20:10Next week, Nitro's going to be live from St. Petersburg, Florida,
00:20:13downtown in the Bayfront Center.
00:20:15We're also coming to Baltimore on the 23rd of November.
00:20:19That is a Saturday night at the arena.
00:20:24Spinning neck breaker.
00:20:25Here's a cover.
00:20:26One, two.
00:20:27Big kick out.
00:20:29Boy, nice move by Diamond.
00:20:31Ice train is just so strong, it's impossible to hold him down.
00:20:36Pushed him right on top of Patrick.
00:20:37Look at the agony McPatrick is in.
00:20:40Yeah, right.
00:20:42That hurts.
00:20:43He didn't even hit him in the neck.
00:20:44He hit him in the lower back.
00:20:45Diamond's a big guy.
00:20:46We're going to have to reel him to the ring one day in a stretcher.
00:20:49Let him roll in and call the match.
00:20:54This is the mistake.
00:20:55You don't want to go fist to cuffs head on with Ice Train.
00:20:58He's too thick.
00:21:00Big forearm shot.
00:21:01Ice Train has him now.
00:21:03Ice Train.
00:21:05Down he goes.
00:21:09Boy, the air left Diamond down as he's trying to suck in that oxygen.
00:21:13Ice Train.
00:21:14No, he can't waste time.
00:21:15He's got to get on him.
00:21:18The whip in Ice Train.
00:21:20Great agility by the big man.
00:21:21Got a power slap.
00:21:22See, that's what throws you off.
00:21:25Two.
00:21:26Got a two count.
00:21:27And I'm not so sure if that wasn't pretty darn slow or not.
00:21:30I couldn't tell from here.
00:21:32But you don't expect Ice Train, a man that big,
00:21:35to jump up over your head when you're six foot five.
00:21:39This guy's a remarkable athlete.
00:21:41He's got him.
00:21:43Get down and count for crying out loud.
00:21:45Two.
00:21:47See, Ice Train didn't have it locked good.
00:21:49He moved that arm on two and Diamond straightened that leg out.
00:21:51Yeah, but you could have driven a truck between count number one and
00:21:54count number two for crying out loud.
00:21:56Whoa.
00:21:59Diamond's getting up.
00:22:02Diamond's going out.
00:22:03Out he goes.
00:22:06Diamond Dallas is out.
00:22:08The Outsiders are in.
00:22:09It's Hall and Nash.
00:22:10They've got the World Tag Team Title belts.
00:22:13And they are nailing Ice Train.
00:22:16And look at Nick Patrick.
00:22:18He's got his back to everything.
00:22:21Turn around is what Teddy Long is saying.
00:22:23Well, the grandfather has to get out of the way.
00:22:26And Patrick will see it.
00:22:28What are you doing, defending them for crying out loud?
00:22:30You've got to control your frustration.
00:22:32The referee can only be in one place.
00:22:35And right there, there was three fields, one with Diamond,
00:22:38one with Teddy, and one with, you know, inside the ring.
00:22:41He couldn't see them all.
00:22:43Into the Diamond Cutter.
00:22:45He got him.
00:22:46He absorbed those belts on the back.
00:22:48But I don't know if he can get up from that.
00:22:50Two, three.
00:22:51He can't.
00:22:55If there's ever been a moment of incriminating evidence of a man going
00:22:59to the NWO, you are seeing that right now, I believe.
00:23:03That was the best finishing maneuver on the planet.
00:23:07Yeah, hang on a second.
00:23:08It has been the MO of the NWO to attack everyone.
00:23:15But this time, they were very selective.
00:23:17They attacked only one man, Ice Train.
00:23:19Well, look at Ice Train right here.
00:23:21Used his size and speed, exploded in.
00:23:24But right here, I mean, obviously, outside interference.
00:23:28No argument here.
00:23:29But the problem was, you know, Teddy Long and his frustrations
00:23:33yelling at Patrick.
00:23:35Patrick won't take up it.
00:23:36He wasn't there to see it.
00:23:38Diamond Dallas caught the Ice Train in that Diamond Cutter.
00:23:43And then Patrick was there.
00:23:44But what are we supposed to do?
00:23:46Make a mandate where all referees have to have eyes implanted
00:23:50in the back of their head?
00:23:52Yes, why not, as a matter of fact.
00:23:54Ladies and gentlemen, still to come in this telecast,
00:23:57Piper Hogan, will we sign the match?
00:24:00That major announcement live from Portland, Oregon.
00:24:03And much more, still to come.
00:24:07It's the hottest wrestling program on the weekends
00:24:09and the one that beats many prime-time wrestling shows as well.
00:24:13It's WCW Saturday night, 6.05 Eastern Time this Saturday.
00:24:17Hacksaw Jim Duggan against Lord Steven Regal.
00:24:20The Amazing French Canadians against Ireland Inc.
00:24:23And tonight, we have a Cruiserweight title match.
00:24:25Dean Malenko against Scotty Riggs coming up next.
00:24:28The winner to meet Ray Mysterio Jr. this Saturday at 6.05 Eastern Time
00:24:32and only on TBS, it's Saturday night.
00:24:36You're truly along with the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes,
00:24:39each and every Saturday on TBS.
00:24:4120-plus years now, Larry, the place to be on Saturday nights.
00:24:44Good. Did we get the call yet from Bischoff?
00:24:47We have not heard yet from Eric Bischoff,
00:24:49but I know Eric's been working on it very, very diligently
00:24:52over the past weekend, talking with Roddy, Roddy Piper.
00:24:55Ladies and gentlemen, literally on pins and needles right now.
00:24:58We can't wait to get that call.
00:25:00Piper Kogan, the big contract signing that everyone wanted to see.
00:25:03All right. We will have more on that.
00:25:06We said Hollywood Hulk Kogan is here,
00:25:09and I know he's on pins and needles more than anyone.
00:25:12Hey, where'd you say you got one, Will?
00:25:14Well, they're right. They have one win,
00:25:16and now Scotty Riggs has a chance of becoming the Cruiserweight champion.
00:25:20Hulk Kogan, as you know, Larry, as everyone knows,
00:25:23is the WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
00:25:27He says it's the NWO Championship.
00:25:29That's what he says, but we know what actually it is.
00:25:32Nevertheless, the winner of World War III
00:25:35will be the first one to get the title shot
00:25:38against Hollywood Hulk Kogan for the world title.
00:25:41Kogan's got two problems.
00:25:43What is he? Piper and World War III.
00:25:45And you think about when you talk about 60 men,
00:25:48and we'll go down the list of the potential 60 men
00:25:51who could win it, who will come out ahead.
00:25:54There's no doubt this man's a champion.
00:25:56He means all business, Dean Malenko.
00:25:59Dean Malenko is going to be at World War III.
00:26:01As a matter of fact, he's going to be defending
00:26:03his Cruiserweight Championship scheduled against Psychosis.
00:26:07That is, if he continues this Cruiserweight Championship up until that time.
00:26:12Last week on this program, this Mexican sensation, Psychosis,
00:26:16came out with a show of force to Dean Malenko,
00:26:19letting Dean Malenko know what he was thinking about.
00:26:21Of course, Psychosis could face Scotty Riggs
00:26:24or even Rey Mysterio Jr.
00:26:26The title could change between now and then, of course.
00:26:29Yeah, and the list goes on.
00:26:30When you've got a championship,
00:26:32you've got a big target right in the middle of your back.
00:26:35And Psychosis is just the man to hit a bullseye on that target
00:26:38because he truly is one of the most talented wrestlers from Mexico.
00:26:43All right, Dean Malenko and Scotty Riggs.
00:26:46First time these two men have met, that I recall,
00:26:49seeing the match here on Nitro.
00:26:51You know, interesting little story here.
00:26:52You know, about six weeks ago, Riggs kind of dislocated his shoulder
00:26:56and actually, through some lighter training,
00:26:58actually dropped some pounds.
00:27:01So he barely made the Cruiserweight.
00:27:03But I don't know if that shoulder's 100%.
00:27:06You can better believe a man of 1,000 holds will work on a shoulder.
00:27:09He'll know the soft points, the weak points,
00:27:11and he will take care of that.
00:27:13Spins into a hammer lock that time.
00:27:15Nicely done by Scotty Riggs.
00:27:17One half of the American males.
00:27:18And you see Mark Bagwell had a tremendous win
00:27:20in the opening part of the telecast
00:27:23at ringside with his partner.
00:27:25The American males, such a successful tag team.
00:27:27One, two, but showing us they can be successful
00:27:30in singles competitions.
00:27:31Well, he's trying to win.
00:27:33That's a good sign.
00:27:34You're in the win.
00:27:35That's what he's trying to do.
00:27:36But both times to no avail.
00:27:38Be right there, Riggs.
00:27:39He's trying to keep it moving because he knows
00:27:41he doesn't want to get on the mat too much with Malenko.
00:27:44Two and a-
00:27:45We almost had a new champion.
00:27:46Almost.
00:27:48What's this?
00:27:49It's Punk time on Nitro.
00:27:52Sleazy Punk time.
00:27:54Sleazy Punk time.
00:27:55Six has arrived.
00:27:56Of course, Six is timing his spots.
00:27:58And that's typical NWO.
00:28:02As Six has said, he wants the Cruiserweight Championship.
00:28:06And I guess-
00:28:07What is this, the Pied Piper here?
00:28:09Yeah, the Punk leading the Pucks.
00:28:11Yeah, Dibiase pays all these people off to do this.
00:28:14There you see, he's joining the fans.
00:28:16He's joining the fans with the signs here.
00:28:18Apparently, the NWO fans.
00:28:20Six leading him on.
00:28:21Uh-oh, and Riggs, he hit the pole.
00:28:23That's bad news.
00:28:24Come on.
00:28:25I don't know if it's the same shoulder,
00:28:26but he banged into that.
00:28:28If Six is so confident, and he wants the Cruiserweight Championship,
00:28:32why doesn't he just get in the ring with Malenko?
00:28:34I'll tell you why.
00:28:35Because he'll put on move number 996,
00:28:38and he'll be screaming until the outsiders come out.
00:28:41That's what'll happen.
00:28:42No, it's always smart to pick your own shot.
00:28:45When you go into battle,
00:28:46make sure it's on the battlefield you want,
00:28:49with the sun and your opponent's eyes.
00:28:51Make sure the timing's right.
00:28:54Blind is Riggs.
00:28:56Riggs hit hard that ring post, but he's back into it.
00:29:01Back body drop.
00:29:04And a drop kick, and that went on target.
00:29:06Randy Anderson checking out with Riggs as Malenko is on the outside.
00:29:10Scotty Riggs, much the same fashion Mark Bagwell did earlier.
00:29:14Earlier in the night, a high risk maneuver from the inside out.
00:29:18Well, that was successful against Armstrong,
00:29:20and Armstrong never recovered from that.
00:29:22I don't think Riggs landed quite as hard.
00:29:25Malenko's back up.
00:29:30Got a two count that time.
00:29:38Up on top, Scotty Riggs again.
00:29:40Malenko, wobbly, dazed.
00:29:44Oh, what happened?
00:29:46Malenko just fell to the ropes.
00:29:49Scotty Riggs lost his balance,
00:29:51and Bagwell shoved him back into the ring.
00:29:54Bagwell looked rather disgusted at that time, didn't he?
00:29:57If I was Bagwell, I would have let him take the eight count.
00:30:00I shoved it so quick.
00:30:01I would agree, and thus-
00:30:03The Oklahoma Roll, he got him.
00:30:05The Oklahoma Roll helps Dee Malenko.
00:30:10And Dee Malenko gets the one, two, three.
00:30:13What about that?
00:30:15Well, maybe a little overzealous on the part of Bagwell.
00:30:20He just threw Riggs back in to get him back in,
00:30:23so he wouldn't get counted out.
00:30:25But still, it was a little too soon.
00:30:27Take the eight count, and then, you know, put him back in.
00:30:30And now Malenko goes on to Saturday night,
00:30:33this Saturday, against Ray Mysterio Jr.
00:30:36Ladies and gentlemen, more to come live on Nitro
00:30:39after the time out.
00:30:40Stay with us.
00:30:44You know, we talked so much last week
00:30:46about the injuries to the Horsemen,
00:30:48and saying the Horsemen were down and maybe out.
00:30:51But last week, when Chris Benoit faced Eddie Guerrero,
00:30:54it was obvious to me the Horsemen were not out.
00:30:58Let's take you to the footage from last week
00:31:00here on WCW Monday Nitro.
00:31:02Chris Benoit wrestling Eddie Guerrero.
00:31:04Everything's going just right.
00:31:07And there you hear-
00:31:08No more slip-ups around here.
00:31:10Steve Mongo McMichael and the lovely Debra coming out.
00:31:13Woman is encouraging Chris Benoit.
00:31:16And then Steve Mongo McMichael makes his way
00:31:18to the ring-tight area with that Halliburton briefcase,
00:31:21and take a look what he does to an already banged-up
00:31:25Eddie Guerrero with the Halliburton.
00:31:27Yeah, but look, Guerrero saw it coming high
00:31:29in McMichael's, he brought it in low.
00:31:31That was a good move.
00:31:33It helps Chris Benoit get the win,
00:31:35and therefore, because of what happened last week,
00:31:38Eddie not able to compete this week,
00:31:40we've got kind of a return match.
00:31:42We talked about the Guerrero family.
00:31:44We talked about the family sticking together.
00:31:47We have seen Chavo Jr. on this program many times.
00:31:50Eddie has been such a sensation,
00:31:52but we want to welcome back a real veteran
00:31:54and a great professional wrestler.
00:31:56It's been quite a while, but here he is.
00:31:58It's Hector Guerrero, Eddie's older brother,
00:32:01who is out here wrestling Chris Benoit
00:32:03for family and honor once again.
00:32:05Just when you think you're out of Guerreros,
00:32:08there's another one.
00:32:10In fact, Hector and Eddie look so much alike,
00:32:14I get them confused sometimes,
00:32:16but Hector is a very good wrestler.
00:32:19You cannot underestimate this man.
00:32:21He's been around.
00:32:22He knows all the tricks of the trade,
00:32:24and against Benoit, this is gonna be a good one.
00:32:27And he realizes that where Benoit is,
00:32:29there's gonna be Steve Mongeau McMichael.
00:32:31Let's talk for a second about the Nature Boy,
00:32:34the Nature Boy, Ric Flair,
00:32:35and about Arn Anderson.
00:32:36Anderson not here.
00:32:38Anderson's back injury, we understand,
00:32:40a muscular injury, not a skeletal one.
00:32:43He has not suffered any broken bones
00:32:45or any bad disc or herniated disc in his back.
00:32:49We do understand that he'll be back
00:32:51in wrestling very, very soon.
00:32:53Ric Flair underwent surgery this past week.
00:32:56Next week on Nitro, a very special interview
00:33:00with the Nature Boy, Ric Flair,
00:33:02about his career, where it goes from here.
00:33:05You know, pain is part of the game,
00:33:08and if you can't take the pain,
00:33:11don't go in the wrestling kitchen.
00:33:14No question about it.
00:33:15And you think about the great career
00:33:17Ric Flair has had, first time for surgery,
00:33:21and of course, you can thank the NWO for that.
00:33:25I've been on a surgeon's table
00:33:26more time than Filet Mignon.
00:33:28Okay, now, last week on WCW,
00:33:31Saturday night, I had a chance
00:33:32to interview Chris Benoit,
00:33:34and he said to Kevin Sullivan,
00:33:36you are not the man you used to be.
00:33:39We are not so sure what he was talking about,
00:33:41but Kevin Sullivan has this response, we understand.
00:33:44All right, we're gonna take you
00:33:45to comments from Kevin Sullivan.
00:33:47Benoit, you said that the Testmaster's
00:33:49not the man that he used to be.
00:33:51Well, I'll promise you this,
00:33:52in Baltimore, Maryland, on November the 23rd,
00:33:55you're gonna find out what kind of man he really is.
00:33:57Benoit, are you getting your information
00:33:59from the same place I am?
00:34:01Is it infatuation?
00:34:03Do you really want it, Benoit?
00:34:05Well, I'll tell you what,
00:34:06in Baltimore, I'm gonna give it to you.
00:34:09You can have it.
00:34:11The easy way or the hard way.
00:34:13I'll see you up in the bathroom in Baltimore.
00:34:17Now, if I know the Testmaster,
00:34:18I know Chris Benoit's gonna be the hard way.
00:34:21Ladies and gentlemen, that is set for Saturday,
00:34:23November 23rd, downtown of the Baltimore Arena.
00:34:27If I was Benoit,
00:34:29I would never underestimate the Testmaster.
00:34:31He's just as deranged as he ever was.
00:34:35And a little, as Hector hits the ropes hard,
00:34:38arm drag takedown.
00:34:40Hector fixes her takeover, nicely done.
00:34:43Another one, Benoit goes down hard.
00:34:45Benoit on the upside now.
00:34:46Well, you can see who one of the guys was
00:34:48that trained young Eddie Guerrero.
00:34:51It was this man right here.
00:34:53Wow!
00:34:55Tremendous move by Hector Guerrero,
00:34:58using the springboard from the bottom rope that time.
00:35:02Nicely done.
00:35:03And I tell you, like you said, you said it, Larry,
00:35:06another one of the Guerreros,
00:35:08and he is going right for the shoulder.
00:35:11Well, he sees the tape, and that's a dead giveaway.
00:35:14Hector's seasoned vet.
00:35:16He's gonna go after any injury he knows about.
00:35:19Of course, you know, not to mention the adrenaline
00:35:22when it comes to family revenge.
00:35:23The Guerreros, they got revenge.
00:35:25They live for revenge.
00:35:27Problem is, they always need revenge
00:35:29because they're always getting beat up by somebody.
00:35:31No question, and for Chris Benoit,
00:35:33now is not the time to be injured.
00:35:36Now we are 20 days away from World War III.
00:35:38Benoit would like to be the man to get the first title shot,
00:35:42world title, Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
00:35:44And he can, as you take a look at woman,
00:35:46who's delirious about the victory of Benoit.
00:35:49And he can get that title shot
00:35:51if he is the one man left.
00:35:5360 men, three rings, World War III.
00:35:56It could be Benoit.
00:35:58What if the last two men in there
00:36:01are Benoit and McMichael?
00:36:03What would happen then?
00:36:05Tony, do I look like the amazing Prescott?
00:36:09No, but you act like it.
00:36:10I don't know, but it could happen.
00:36:12There's no question, and here's another what if.
00:36:15I mean, Ruber has not been able to confront Sting.
00:36:18We are not so sure if Sting is gonna be a part of this.
00:36:21We would assume so,
00:36:23but he has been so dark and mysterious as of late,
00:36:26we are not sure.
00:36:27Let's say Sting is in there.
00:36:28Let's say Sting is in there with Luger.
00:36:30They're the last two men.
00:36:31Luger will finally get to face Sting,
00:36:33but not really in the way he envies.
00:36:36Yeah, I don't know.
00:36:37I wouldn't bet any money on Sting
00:36:38till we find out what's going on with his.
00:36:40Can't anybody talk to Sting?
00:36:42Can't he be mad enough to come out
00:36:44and make a statement of where he stands here?
00:36:47No one can reach him.
00:36:48Well, reach him up in the balcony
00:36:50where he's hanging out up there.
00:36:51Well, Luger tried last week against Booker T.
00:36:54He left.
00:36:55He went after Sting, who walked away,
00:36:56and thus the countout in the return match later on tonight.
00:37:00When we come back, the match continues on Nitro
00:37:03live on TNT.
00:37:05Don't you dare go away.
00:37:06Still hearing from Piper Hogan in that match.
00:37:13The following announcement has been paid for
00:37:16by the New World Order.
00:37:17Want to make a fascist statement?
00:37:19NWO's back in black.
00:37:20Quite nice, quite lovely.
00:37:22So buy the shirt!
00:37:23What'd he say?
00:37:24Extra large? Double X?
00:37:26Giant size.
00:37:27What's it make you look skinny on TV?
00:37:29Buy this shirt!
00:37:30The preceding announcement has been paid for
00:37:33by the New World Order.
00:37:36All right, we are back.
00:37:37Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back
00:37:39as we begin our transition to our number two.
00:37:42This is live, and this is two full hours
00:37:45of wrestling's hottest television program, Nitro.
00:37:48Tony Schiavone joined here in hour number one
00:37:51by the living legend Larry Zbysko,
00:37:52and I tell you, Benoit's had his hands full
00:37:55with Hector Guerrero here, Larry,
00:37:57but he is up to the task here tonight.
00:37:59Yeah, but did you see the chest on Guerrero?
00:38:02Benoit just beating the heck out of him,
00:38:05taking his toll.
00:38:06Hector, look at him, just beat Red.
00:38:10Right there, Benoit,
00:38:11he's got his adrenaline going.
00:38:12That's why they call this guy the Crippler.
00:38:14No question about it, and the Crippler,
00:38:16as you can see, a little bit banged up,
00:38:18but the Crippler, who is a tremendous athlete,
00:38:21and you heard what Kevin Sullivan said early.
00:38:23I can advise you fans right now
00:38:26that in Baltimore, when Benoit and the Taskmaster
00:38:30finally collide, and this lady
00:38:32has a lot more on the line
00:38:33than meets the eye right now in that match,
00:38:36obviously, here's lateral press.
00:38:37One, two, I don't know what that's all about.
00:38:40But when that match happens in Baltimore,
00:38:42that may be a good time to either go to the potty
00:38:45or the concession stand
00:38:46because it's gonna leave the ring,
00:38:48I can guarantee you that.
00:38:49The potty?
00:38:50Thank you.
00:38:51You understood that, didn't you?
00:38:53Into the ropes.
00:38:54I didn't believe I heard it,
00:38:55but I understood it.
00:38:56And a headbutt by the Crippler, Chris Benoit.
00:38:59We have not seen Steve Mongo McMichael,
00:39:02but, you know, we've said it throughout history
00:39:05in this sport that the Horsemen
00:39:07are at their most dangerous
00:39:09when you think they're down,
00:39:10you think they're hurt.
00:39:12And thus, we saw what Mongo did last week,
00:39:14and obviously, I would think he'd be around
00:39:18somewhere here tonight.
00:39:19Well, that's why they call him the Horseman.
00:39:21I mean, these guys can go with it.
00:39:23Right there, Benoit,
00:39:24he's got the abdominal stretch.
00:39:26He sits really low on it.
00:39:28Wow.
00:39:29Pulling up on all the ribs.
00:39:30If he could get that left arm
00:39:32a little bit higher on the head of Hector,
00:39:35he could have this Guerrero scream.
00:39:37We better get another Guerrero.
00:39:40I'm sure they're putting.
00:39:41I'm sure Chavo's working on it.
00:39:43No question about it.
00:39:44This is a tight-knit family.
00:39:46This is one of the most successful families
00:39:48in our sport.
00:39:49Know that about it.
00:39:50Ladies and gentlemen,
00:39:51as we head into our number two here,
00:39:53I want to remind you,
00:39:54Eric Bischoff not here this week.
00:39:56Very important meeting for the one,
00:39:58two negotiations going on.
00:40:01As a result of what happened
00:40:03at the end of Slim Jim's Halloween Havoc,
00:40:05the Internet was jammed.
00:40:06The WCW website was jammed.
00:40:09Telephone calls.
00:40:10Cards and letters.
00:40:11Fans all over want to see the match
00:40:13they have not seen.
00:40:14The match the world wants to see.
00:40:16Two of the biggest,
00:40:17Rowdy Roddy Piper,
00:40:19the two biggest,
00:40:20and Hulk Hogan.
00:40:21Later on,
00:40:22we'll hear from Eric Bischoff.
00:40:23I got a feeling we are going to have that signing,
00:40:27and we're going to hear about it here tonight.
00:40:29Stay right with us as we begin
00:40:31our number two.
00:40:32I'm not going anywhere.
00:40:33I'm going to be in the back.
00:40:34We'll turn this over to Bobby.
00:40:35I'm going to be there by the phone
00:40:37when Bischoff calls.
00:40:38You are.
00:40:39I'm going to find out before you this time.
00:40:41You're going to scoop us all, huh?
00:40:43Super scoop right there.
00:40:44He's got Benoit.
00:40:45One, two.
00:40:46Two count.
00:40:47Ladies and gentlemen,
00:40:48within 30 seconds now
00:40:49to go to the program.
00:40:51The hour that set the standard
00:40:53that changed wrestling history.
00:40:55Hour number two.
00:40:56Nine to ten of WCW Monday Night Raw.
00:40:59One, two.
00:41:00Got a two count,
00:41:01and they're going at it tooth and nail here.
00:41:03You know, Hector won't give up,
00:41:04but that might be a dumb thing to do.
00:41:06He's slowly going down and down.
00:41:08And Benoit, I think he knows he has him.
00:41:10Just don't let up on him.
00:41:12They're standing here in Grand Rapids
00:41:14getting ready for hour number two.
00:41:17And hour number two of WCW Monday Night Raw
00:41:26starts with a bang in midstream
00:41:29in the midst of a match.
00:41:30And I'd like to welcome to the broadcast location
00:41:33Bobby the Brain Hedon.
00:41:35Mike Tanay with us as well.
00:41:37And Brain, I tell you,
00:41:38can you remember as much excitement
00:41:40surrounding one match
00:41:42and the potential announcement of one match
00:41:44ever in your career?
00:41:45Watch out.
00:41:46One, two.
00:41:47A two count.
00:41:48No, I can't.
00:41:49And I never thought this thing would come to be
00:41:50or even be in the stage of being worked out right now.
00:41:53You talk about the group,
00:41:54biggest icons in this sport,
00:41:56the history of this sport,
00:41:57Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper.
00:42:00I mean, you go from Hollywood
00:42:02to the ring, back to Hollywood.
00:42:04There's no two bigger men in this sport
00:42:06than Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper.
00:42:09And Hogan has never beaten Piper.
00:42:12Piper's the only man in this sport
00:42:14Hogan does not have a victory over.
00:42:16Never pinned Rowdy Roddy Piper
00:42:18and he's pinned them all.
00:42:19There's no question.
00:42:20You can't deny,
00:42:21even though he's become a schmuck,
00:42:24even though he's become a jerk,
00:42:26even though as he proved last week
00:42:27he's become a liar,
00:42:28you can't deny what Hogan
00:42:31has done in this sport,
00:42:32his track record.
00:42:33But there's one man that remains for Hulk Hogan.
00:42:36One man that gets him right in his side
00:42:39and that's the name of Rowdy Roddy Piper.
00:42:42Well, there's no doubt about it.
00:42:43Rowdy Roddy Piper is a very complex individual.
00:42:46Sometimes he smiles at you.
00:42:48Sometimes he'll give you his hand.
00:42:49You never know what the man's thinking.
00:42:51He's a very dangerous man
00:42:52and he's a very proud man.
00:42:54He has a huge, huge ego,
00:42:56bigger than this sport even.
00:42:58It's same size as Hogan's.
00:42:59I mean, they're right there,
00:43:00neck and neck.
00:43:01No one touches those two.
00:43:02No question.
00:43:03And you go back and think about the early career
00:43:06of Rowdy Roddy Piper.
00:43:07We've talked so much about it.
00:43:10Hector Guerrero.
00:43:12Both of them are going to be dizzy after this.
00:43:16Kiwi leg roll that time.
00:43:17Got a one, got a two,
00:43:18almost got a three.
00:43:19Woman reaching and yanking the hair of Hector.
00:43:26Out of a kiwi roll that time.
00:43:28Hector looking at Woman.
00:43:30She gets her job done.
00:43:31One, two, three.
00:43:33And Benoit wins it.
00:43:37Wow.
00:43:38Wow.
00:43:39Woman comes into play again.
00:43:41Now, you say what you want to say
00:43:43about anything perceived with
00:43:46Castmaster, Woman, or Benoit.
00:43:49As Woman said, she is a solid part of a horseman.
00:43:53Let's see what we've got.
00:43:56How would you like her mad at you?
00:43:58Not me.
00:43:59And there's the Giant.
00:44:01Ladies and gentlemen, the Giant
00:44:05was never, or never chokeslammed Jeff Jarrett.
00:44:11Jeff Jarrett said he never chokeslammed him,
00:44:14and he didn't.
00:44:15Let's get a look at this here.
00:44:17There he is, Jeff Jarrett.
00:44:19This is last week what happened.
00:44:20That's right.
00:44:21He's got Ricky Morton in trouble.
00:44:23Here he goes for the figure four leg lock.
00:44:25Slaps it on Mr. Morton.
00:44:27And it's all over for Mr. Morton.
00:44:29But who should appear in the stands last week
00:44:32but the Giant?
00:44:35Jeff Jarrett.
00:44:39Let me tell you, I could huff.
00:44:41I could puff.
00:44:43And I could blow Nitro down.
00:44:48But I'm not going to.
00:44:51I'm going to lay out a few simple facts.
00:44:55You think that you're the new member of the Horsemen.
00:44:59They brought you in.
00:45:01They say they passed you the torch from Ric Flair.
00:45:05They didn't pass you a torch.
00:45:08They passed you a wet match.
00:45:12Last night, brother, you know the deal.
00:45:15I had you in the chokeslam.
00:45:18Ric Flair saved you.
00:45:20It's not going to happen anymore.
00:45:23Horsemen, you're all pathetic.
00:45:26Each and every one of you.
00:45:28You band together like a pack of rats.
00:45:31You think you're so bad.
00:45:34You're not bad.
00:45:36You're afraid.
00:45:37Each and every one of you are afraid.
00:45:40You fight scared.
00:45:42You walk scared.
00:45:44And you are scared.
00:45:46Yeah, you got out of the chokeslam last night.
00:45:49But your day is coming.
00:45:51Someday, somewhere, my hand's going to wrap around your throat.
00:45:57I'm going to squeeze.
00:45:59I'm going to lift you over my head.
00:46:01And bam!
00:46:02That's the end of Jeff Jarrett.
00:46:05And Horsemen, you get in my way one more time.
00:46:10I will take you out systematically.
00:46:14Like the mean, mean fighting machine that I am.
00:46:20When you go to bed tonight, check the closet.
00:46:24Look under the bed and say your prayers.
00:46:28Because believe me, you, there is a monster behind your back.
00:46:35Seems to me, and as you see the Giant watching on here,
00:46:39that Jeff Jarrett and what happened at Slim Jim's Halloween Havoc
00:46:42has gotten the dander up of the Giant,
00:46:44who really doesn't even earn that U.S. title belt.
00:46:47With that in mind, let's take you over now to the special interview
00:46:50and our colleague Mike today.
00:46:51Mike?
00:46:52Thanks very much, Tony.
00:46:54Jeff Jarrett, it's become quite obvious,
00:46:56the serious injuries to the nature boy Ric Flair and Arne Anderson,
00:47:00that as we head into World War III,
00:47:03the four horsemen are at far less than 100% strength.
00:47:06Well, you're talking to the lead horse, and the old saying goes,
00:47:10we may be down, but we're not out.
00:47:12Because I've watched those guys' career from afar,
00:47:15and I know one thing, when they get together, the NWO will go down.
00:47:19Let me tell you the way it is, Mike.
00:47:22Any business pertaining to the horsemen
00:47:25shall be dealt with accordingly by a horseman.
00:47:31Listen, listen.
00:47:33In the age of free agency,
00:47:35I don't understand how somebody can just walk through a door
00:47:38and put his butt down in a seat and say,
00:47:40this is my house, mister, I got my foot in the door, Jarrett.
00:47:44You listen to me, boy.
00:47:46And another thing, baby, you see that shirt zipper head?
00:47:49It says four horsemen.
00:47:51And Chris and myself will be keeping vigilant, baby,
00:47:55until those two old horsemen, Arne Anderson and Ric Flair,
00:47:59who are tougher than boot leather, oh, yes, they will be back.
00:48:02And then they'll be held to pay from the horsemen, baby.
00:48:05And as far as I'm concerned, Chris and woman,
00:48:07this four horsemen interview is over.
00:48:13Jeff Jarrett, I know one of the things that concerns you
00:48:16is the fact that no one in world championship wrestling
00:48:19has stepped up and taken that leadership role against the NWO.
00:48:22That's exactly right.
00:48:23As I was saying, Mike, you want to talk about leadership.
00:48:27You want to talk about WCW versus NWO.
00:48:30You want to talk about WCW winning the war.
00:48:34Well, in order for that to happen,
00:48:36WCW, like I said two weeks ago, has to unite.
00:48:40That's right.
00:48:41The four horsemen in the Dungeon and Dune
00:48:43got to put their things aside and clear things up.
00:48:46Luger and Anderson, put your personal business aside.
00:48:49Nasty boys, all I got to say to you two fat doughboys is
00:48:52actions speak louder than words.
00:48:55And Piper, that's right.
00:48:56You got to wipe that Hollywood makeup off your face
00:48:59and get in the ring and see if you still got it.
00:49:02Because I've got it.
00:49:03Because Ric Flair said I had it.
00:49:05He said I could walk the walk and talk the talk.
00:49:07When I get the gun, I shoot a bullseye every time.
00:49:12Don't wrap me up, pal.
00:49:14When I get the ball, I score a touchdown every time.
00:49:17When I say I'm going to do something, I do it every time.
00:49:21You can't say that about Sting.
00:49:23No, he's walking around in some catwalk.
00:49:26He's not even in the game.
00:49:28The last time he's in the game, he fumbled the ball.
00:49:31He walked out at fall brawl.
00:49:33He turned his back on the people.
00:49:35It's right, he turned his back on the people that made him,
00:49:38and that's WCW.
00:49:40So you can X his name off the list,
00:49:42but you can't say that about Flair
00:49:44because he may get on his horse again.
00:49:46The big white stallion rides Space Mountain one more time
00:49:49and lead us to victory.
00:49:50It may be Piper.
00:49:51I may have to do it.
00:49:53But one way or another, Hogan,
00:49:54you and the rest of your NWO flunkies are going down.
00:49:57That ain't no threat.
00:49:58That's a promise.
00:50:00Strong words from Jeff Jarrett, Tony Schiavone.
00:50:02Things look unsettled in the four horseman camp.
00:50:04You're right, Mike.
00:50:05And Jeff Jarrett says actions speak louder than words.
00:50:08What does that say?
00:50:10That's an action.
00:50:11A very mysterious, very scary one.
00:50:14Sting still lurking here at Nitro.
00:50:17And more action, more to come after this.
00:50:25We welcome you back to our number two.
00:50:28Tony Schiavone now joined by my good friend Mike Tenet
00:50:31and Bobby the Brain Heenan.
00:50:33Mike, you were doing the interview,
00:50:34and Bobby, we saw Sting, who is here.
00:50:37You know, and I mentioned at the top of the hour,
00:50:39first hour, that I think we were the one that pushed Sting
00:50:42over the edge, no doubt about it.
00:50:43Well, there is no doubt about it.
00:50:44He relied too much on his friends.
00:50:46He's worried about how people look at him,
00:50:49the kids looking up to him.
00:50:50When everybody turned their back on him
00:50:52and thought he had joined the NWO,
00:50:54he didn't know how to react.
00:50:55He didn't know how to take it.
00:50:56Now he's all twisted inside.
00:50:58He's searching his soul.
00:50:59He's searching down deep.
00:51:00And to me, that makes a very, very dangerous thing.
00:51:03And Mike, I've already talked to Bobby about this.
00:51:05Eric, of course, not here this week.
00:51:07He's in Portland, Oregon.
00:51:08Rowdy, rowdy Piper, Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
00:51:11A match made in heaven.
00:51:12The two biggest superstars in the last 10 years in our sport.
00:51:15It would be the match of the decade.
00:51:17We could have it signed here tonight
00:51:18before we leave the air.
00:51:19Well, Tony, so many questions remain to be answered
00:51:22in this second hour of Nitro.
00:51:24We will hear from Eric Fischhoff,
00:51:25and hopefully with good news that he has signed
00:51:28the Piper-Hogan match of the decade.
00:51:31And, of course, also the question remains about Sting,
00:51:34his loyalty to WCW as well as to Lex Luger.
00:51:37Of course, we are heading into World War III.
00:51:38As you know, fans, a lot of controversy
00:51:41when you talk about Sting, Hollywood Hulk Hogan,
00:51:44rowdy, rowdy Piper.
00:51:45Will we get the match signed?
00:51:46Hopefully we will find out.
00:51:47We'll be checking in with Eric Fischhoff live.
00:51:49Speaking of checking in live,
00:51:51we're going to take you on the road now.
00:51:52It's time for our 1-800-COLLECT-ROAD report
00:51:55and checking in with our good friend Lee Marshall.
00:51:57Hey, Lee, how are you this week?
00:51:58Tony, I'm doing great.
00:52:00I'm all warm and cozy.
00:52:02We're having a Monday Nitro party
00:52:04here in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area,
00:52:06which is becoming the home of mega events.
00:52:08Soon there's going to be the final four
00:52:09of the NHL All-Star Game.
00:52:10The Super Bowl is coming,
00:52:11but it all starts a week from tonight.
00:52:13WCW Monday Nitro at the Bayfront Civic Center.
00:52:17Right now I've got this Nitro party I'm at
00:52:19with fans from Tampa, St. Pete.
00:52:20They're here from Sarasota, from Lakeland.
00:52:22They've got their tickets,
00:52:23and you can get your Monday Nitro tickets
00:52:25at the Bayfront Civic Center box office
00:52:27or any of the ticket master outlets.
00:52:29Got to go, guys.
00:52:30That's our 1-800-COLLECT-ROAD report
00:52:32from the springtime home
00:52:34of the world champion New York Yankees.
00:52:35I'm Lee Marshall for 1-800-COLLECT.
00:52:38How come Lee Marshall always gets to have nice parties
00:52:40and we got to work on Mondays?
00:52:43We're just lucky.
00:52:44I guess we are. All right.
00:52:46You know, as we said earlier,
00:52:47and as you saw sitting right here on the podium
00:52:49with us at our broadcast location,
00:52:51the WCW Women's Championship.
00:52:54And, Mike, today we have one of our first matches
00:52:57in this eight-lady tournament,
00:52:59and it should be a dandy.
00:53:00Well, it certainly should.
00:53:01First-round action kicks off
00:53:03with the masked Raina Yabuki,
00:53:06an international women's star.
00:53:08She began her career in her homeland of Japan.
00:53:10She gained major success in Mexico.
00:53:13Tony, back in 1994,
00:53:15she captured the CMLL Women's Championship
00:53:18in Mexico City
00:53:19and is still recognized today
00:53:21as the title holder south of the border.
00:53:23Very colorful as well there, Brain, wouldn't you say?
00:53:26Beautiful woman.
00:53:27Half woman, half goose.
00:53:29Look at the feathers on her.
00:53:30I don't know if you'd say that she's wrestling that attire
00:53:33or does she take those feathers off?
00:53:35That's part of the ring costume, obviously,
00:53:37and this is a rare U.S. appearance for Raina Yabuki,
00:53:41and obviously the opposition, as we see,
00:53:43comes from Medusa.
00:53:45Mike, you know the brackets of this tournament,
00:53:48and you've been studying it.
00:53:49Would you say that Medusa is a favorite in this tournament?
00:53:52I would say that Medusa has to be the favorite
00:53:55going into this 8th Women's Tournament
00:53:57to crown a new women's champion,
00:53:59although the competition is awfully stiff,
00:54:02especially with this influx of Japanese competitors
00:54:05from the Gaia promotion.
00:54:07We'll be talking about that later in this matchup.
00:54:09I'll tell you, this is just,
00:54:10Yabuki is here for her first appearance
00:54:12here on WCW Monday Night Show,
00:54:14and why in the world?
00:54:16Now, you know, I'm not here, one,
00:54:18to question the WCW Championship Committee.
00:54:21Hey, shut up for a minute!
00:54:22Well, why?
00:54:24Okay, go ahead.
00:54:25I'm not here to question the Championship Committee,
00:54:27but why, as we start this tournament,
00:54:29and I know he is senior referee,
00:54:31I know he has legal advice now,
00:54:32and he's probably seeking injunctions right and left,
00:54:34why would WCW let Nick Patrick referee this first match?
00:54:40Yabuki wasting no time here,
00:54:42and she wrestles with the feathers on there,
00:54:44Bray, how about that?
00:54:45Do you want me to wrestle with your feathers on?
00:54:47I guess so.
00:54:49Reina Yabuki made a very strong impression
00:54:51a couple of months back in Los Angeles
00:54:53at Antonio Inoki's Peace Festival,
00:54:55and to my knowledge,
00:54:56this is only her second appearance
00:54:58in the United States.
00:55:00And she is immediately taking the fight
00:55:02right to Medusa here.
00:55:04Well, Medusa will fight you,
00:55:05there's no doubt about that.
00:55:06Medusa can beat most men.
00:55:08I mean, this is one tough woman.
00:55:10And really, to be successful against her,
00:55:12you do have to take the fight right.
00:55:14I'll tell you what,
00:55:15Yabuki is very colorful,
00:55:16one of the most colorful wrestlers,
00:55:17male or female,
00:55:18that we've ever seen in this sport,
00:55:19and look at this,
00:55:20holding Medusa,
00:55:21showing some power of her own
00:55:23with a choke hold,
00:55:24and just throwing her right down.
00:55:26Well, she's known for her high-risk aerial offense,
00:55:28and that display of power,
00:55:29actually kind of surprising.
00:55:31No question about it.
00:55:33Nothing a woman does surprises me.
00:55:35Yeah, me neither sometimes, actually, Bray.
00:55:38I've been picked up before by a woman.
00:55:39You have?
00:55:40I don't want to go into that.
00:55:42Not by the neck, though.
00:55:43And she's biting her fingers.
00:55:45Now, that's a nitro first.
00:55:47Just when you think you've seen it all.
00:55:50Yes.
00:55:51A manicure by mouth.
00:55:53And now biting the toes.
00:55:55I mean, Yabuki is...
00:55:57Well, you know who this is.
00:55:59This is Zero.
00:56:00This is Zero,
00:56:01one of the most famous women wrestlers in the world
00:56:03from Japan,
00:56:04formerly known as Chigusa Nagayo,
00:56:06now known as Zero.
00:56:08And she is coming out in this tournament.
00:56:14Tony, I had to take a look at some bracketing
00:56:16upcoming for this tournament.
00:56:17Quick cover by Medusa.
00:56:18One, two, no.
00:56:20And in looking at that bracketing as we see Sunny Ono
00:56:23accompany Zero to the ring.
00:56:25Everything that's wrong with this country.
00:56:27Look at her.
00:56:28She's literally a chemical dumping ground.
00:56:31Look at her.
00:56:32What?
00:56:33She's full of peroxide and falling plastic.
00:56:35Oh, would you?
00:56:36Come to think of it,
00:56:37she reminds me of an American car.
00:56:39Ha, ha, ha.
00:56:42Well, I did have a chance to look at the bracketing,
00:56:44and obviously Sunny Ono and Zero are out here
00:56:47scouting this matchup.
00:56:49And should Zero be successful against Malaya Hosaka
00:56:52in her first round matchup,
00:56:53she would face the winner of this match
00:56:55next Monday night right here on Nitro.
00:56:57We do understand we're going to have first round matches
00:56:59as well on WCW Saturday night,
00:57:02as well as here on Nitro
00:57:03until we crown a new WCW Ladies Champion, Medusa.
00:57:08How's that for a flying head scissor?
00:57:09How about it?
00:57:10Oh!
00:57:11And Yabuki sidestepping that one.
00:57:14Doesn't go for the cover, though.
00:57:15No, you're right.
00:57:16Brain did not go for the cover.
00:57:17How about that bridge suplex?
00:57:18One!
00:57:19That on one count only.
00:57:21The fans are behind Medusa.
00:57:23Sunny Ono can say all he wants to about Medusa,
00:57:26but she's a fine athlete.
00:57:28Oh!
00:57:29Missile drop kick off the top.
00:57:32And the cover.
00:57:33One, two.
00:57:34Nick Patrick down, and Medusa bridges out.
00:57:37Zero watching on along with Sunny Ono.
00:57:39That tells me that Medusa still has a lot going for her,
00:57:41because she didn't kick out of that.
00:57:43She didn't power out.
00:57:44She bridged out.
00:57:45That means she's got a lot going.
00:57:46Yes!
00:57:47One, two, and three!
00:57:48She got her!
00:57:49Medusa in a big triumph here.
00:57:56Looking right at zero, and it's Sunny Ono defeats Yabuki
00:58:03and advances into round number two.
00:58:05What a way to kick off round number one
00:58:08of this women's championship tournament.
00:58:10She waist-locked her, got her in that German suplex with a bridge,
00:58:13and Medusa gets the victory.
00:58:15She's on her way to round number two.
00:58:17She's on her way to round number two.
00:58:19Will she face zero?
00:58:21That remains to be seen.
00:58:22She's ready for zero right now.
00:58:25And Sunny Ono obviously out of all intimidation.
00:58:31Here it is again, Bray.
00:58:32Let's get a look at this.
00:58:34Medusa does a handstand into a head scissors.
00:58:38Takes her opponent off the top rope.
00:58:40The last time I saw a move like this was at Bloomingdale's
00:58:42at the end of the month sale.
00:58:43Two women were fighting over some pillowcases.
00:58:45There's your winner, Medusa.
00:58:48Ladies and gentlemen, still the cop, Chris Jericho.
00:58:51Mr. Wallstreet, Lex Luger, Booker T, a return match.
00:58:54Hollywood Hulk Hogan is here, and we'll hear from Eric Bischoff.
00:58:58Will the match be signed?
00:58:59Piper and Hogan, we'll find out.
00:59:01Stay with us.
00:59:02Next.
00:59:04And it is loud here in the Van Andel Arena
00:59:07in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
00:59:09Tony Schiavone in for Eric Bischoff this week,
00:59:11along with Mike Tenet, Bobby the Brain Heaton,
00:59:14our number two of wrestling's number one television program.
00:59:19Monday nights are live.
00:59:20Mr. Wallstreet is here.
00:59:22Gentlemen, you take a look at the roster.
00:59:25You take a look at the athletes
00:59:26who are in world championship wrestling,
00:59:29and you figure that one man is going to prevail
00:59:32on Sunday, November 24th.
00:59:34One man will have to go through 60.
00:59:37One man will have to go through three rings
00:59:39for every man for himself.
00:59:40But add to that that that one man will get the first shot
00:59:43at the world heavyweight title.
00:59:44You're talking about World War III.
00:59:46It's going to be electric.
00:59:47Well, Tony, we've been so focused,
00:59:49and there's been so much emphasis on this match of the decade,
00:59:52and we hope to hear from Eric Bischoff later in this hour
00:59:55concerning the Rowdy Roddy Piper-Hollywood Hogan
00:59:58potential matchup.
00:59:59But I think we cannot overlook the fact
01:00:01that this very dangerous event,
01:00:0360 wrestlers competing at the same time in three rings,
01:00:07and that all gold at the end of the rainbow
01:00:09is that shot, the first shot,
01:00:10at Hulk Hogan in the world championship
01:00:12to some lucky man.
01:00:13And the man that defeats those 59 other men
01:00:16is going to have to go through an evening of torment.
01:00:18He's going to have to reach down
01:00:20and battle like he's never fought before.
01:00:22And whoever that man is
01:00:23and walks away the winner of World War III,
01:00:25when he gets that title shot at Hogan,
01:00:28I'll tell you something,
01:00:29or whoever has the championship by then,
01:00:31I'll guarantee you something.
01:00:33That man will be ready,
01:00:34because he's gone through the vet right here at WCW.
01:00:37You know, you talk about so many alliances in our sport
01:00:39when you think about McMichael and Benoit
01:00:42and the Horseman and Flair and Anderson.
01:00:44Of course, we'll be hearing from Ric Flair next week
01:00:47on his status as a result of the surgery he just had,
01:00:50thanks to the NWO.
01:00:52And you talk about the members of the Dungeon of Doom.
01:00:54But every man wants to be the world champion,
01:00:57and it's their one chance to get that shot.
01:01:01Therefore, it's got to be,
01:01:02even though you've got to put all friendship aside,
01:01:04it's got to be every man for himself.
01:01:06Well, that's the way it has to be.
01:01:07It's the only way it works.
01:01:08You can't go in there with any feelings.
01:01:10This is your shot of a lifetime.
01:01:12This is World War III.
01:01:13Three rings, 60 of the toughest men in the world
01:01:16are coming from all corners of this world
01:01:19to compete in this.
01:01:20And I'll tell you something, Shivani,
01:01:21it's how bad you want it.
01:01:22And it's not always the biggest man that wins a battle royal.
01:01:25And I would agree with that.
01:01:26And let's put it this way,
01:01:27as Mark Curtis counts a one-two on Mr. Wallstreet,
01:01:31Mike, what about Sting?
01:01:32Is he in the frame of mind to compete in this?
01:01:35If he gets the invite, will he compete in this?
01:01:38We just don't know.
01:01:39Well, we certainly don't have a definitive answer
01:01:41from Sting yet at this point.
01:01:42But I think if Sting could put aside
01:01:45all the differences that he has
01:01:46with everyone here in world championship wrestling,
01:01:48he would have to be one of the favorites.
01:01:50Heading into World War III,
01:01:51and what an opportunity for the entire roster of WCW
01:01:55with that world's championship shot
01:01:57waiting for the winner.
01:01:58Well, Sting has to do one thing.
01:02:00He's got to clear his mind.
01:02:02Chris Jericho had a little press that time
01:02:04but pulled away from it.
01:02:05Chris Jericho is a young man,
01:02:09one, two,
01:02:10who has truly, in a short period of time,
01:02:13turned heads, made a lot of friends,
01:02:15made some enemies, as you will in this sport,
01:02:18but also has risen up the ladder
01:02:20as quick as anyone has ever had.
01:02:22And, of course, the senior official here at WCW, Nick Patrick,
01:02:26has been pointing an accusing finger
01:02:28at Chris Jericho in recent weeks,
01:02:30claiming that he was responsible
01:02:32for the injury to Mr. Patrick.
01:02:33Right.
01:02:34Chris Jericho, as far as I'm concerned,
01:02:36is a show-off.
01:02:37You see the way he comes out.
01:02:38He falls into the people.
01:02:39He wants to be hugged.
01:02:40He wants to be kissed.
01:02:41I mean, he wants to shake hands with people.
01:02:44He wants to be loved and liked.
01:02:45Hey, this is a business.
01:02:47Get with it, punk.
01:02:48Those people will do nothing for you out there
01:02:50but get in your way.
01:02:51I don't think he's a show-off.
01:02:52I think that Chris Jericho has a lot of energy.
01:02:56As a matter of fact,
01:02:57if we'll take you back to last week
01:02:59and this shyster Alan Sharp,
01:03:01the lawyer for Nick Patrick, came out,
01:03:04it wasn't until Jericho came out,
01:03:06pointed an accusing finger right at Nick Patrick
01:03:08and really, I think, livened up
01:03:10an otherwise boring interview.
01:03:12Let me tell you something about that attorney.
01:03:14That's a very compassionate man, that attorney.
01:03:16One of his clients today was going to the hospital
01:03:18and I saw him following the ambulance down the road.
01:03:20I bet you did.
01:03:22How many attorneys would go to the hospital with his man?
01:03:25Only Alan Sharp, I guess.
01:03:27And he passed the ambulance twice.
01:03:29Stretching the man out along the ropes now
01:03:31and Mr. Wallstreet counting away on Chris Jericho.
01:03:35You can't deny the ability of Mr. Wallstreet,
01:03:38one of the great veterans in our sport,
01:03:40and he knows how to win a match.
01:03:42He knows that when you are down, where to hit you,
01:03:45and he is showing that right here, Mike.
01:03:47And on the other hand, when you take a look at the nickname
01:03:49of Chris Jericho, I think Lionheart says it all.
01:03:51That heart of a lion, that resiliency,
01:03:53that never-say-die attitude.
01:03:55One, two, no, sir.
01:03:57That's not why they call him the lion.
01:03:59It's because that mangy mane he has hanging out of his head.
01:04:02Mangy mane.
01:04:04Yeah, there's birds in there and owls, all kinds of things.
01:04:06We saw one fly out a couple of weeks ago for crying out loud.
01:04:10Hasn't washed his hair since 63.
01:04:13And Mr. Wallstreet, every man to a man in the dressing room
01:04:17thinking about their chance to get the shot
01:04:20at the World Heavyweight title.
01:04:22And every man has the equal opportunity
01:04:25on Sunday, the 24th of November, at World War III.
01:04:30Speaking of Hollywood Hulk Hogan,
01:04:32we understand he is here listening on,
01:04:35thinking about what is transpiring in Portland, Oregon.
01:04:38We hope to get the word at any time.
01:04:41And that's gotta be going through his mind.
01:04:43Knowing Bishop's out in Oregon.
01:04:44Knowing he's talking to Piper.
01:04:46And you know what a liar Hogan is.
01:04:48He'll lie his way out of any kind of a trap you put him in.
01:04:50Well, you know, and I think this,
01:04:52I think it's, Larry Zubisco brought it up during the first hour.
01:04:55When he comes out, like he did last week,
01:04:57and I'm talking about Hogan,
01:04:59says what he says, lies the way he lies.
01:05:02To me, it's obvious he doesn't want any part of Rowdy Roddy Piper,
01:05:05but the fans want it.
01:05:07The fans jammed the internet, they jammed the phone lines,
01:05:09they wrote the letters after seeing Slim Jim's Halloween out.
01:05:12You're right, this is the match that the fans have demanded,
01:05:14and Eric Bischoff is going to do everything within his power
01:05:18to get that accomplished for the fans of WCW.
01:05:20It's what we wanted to see too, Brink.
01:05:22Oh, no doubt about it.
01:05:23I'll tell you how important this kind of a match is.
01:05:26First of all, Hogan, when he was world champion at that time,
01:05:30controlled his fate.
01:05:32He pretty well handpicked who he wanted.
01:05:34He had a lot of clout.
01:05:35Why didn't he fight Piper?
01:05:38Because he didn't want to fight Piper.
01:05:40That's the reason.
01:05:41There would have been record gates all over the world.
01:05:44Pay-per-view would have gone off the charts,
01:05:46but Hogan didn't want to get beat by Piper.
01:05:48That's what I think.
01:05:50And that's why there's so much intrigue in this potential matchup.
01:05:53A man who has never been beaten by Hulk Hogan,
01:05:56and that's Rowdy Roddy Piper.
01:05:58I mean, you wanted to see the Yankees in the bridge,
01:06:00you got to see it.
01:06:01You want to see great Super Bowls, you get to see it.
01:06:03Now, if Bischoff can pull this off,
01:06:05you're going to see the greatest sporting event in the world.
01:06:07No doubt about it.
01:06:10I don't remember a great Super Bowl for a long time.
01:06:12Side of the head now.
01:06:14That's because you're always tailgating until 4.30 in the morning.
01:06:16That's what it is.
01:06:17Into the jaw now.
01:06:18At a little league field.
01:06:20Would you stop for hysterical.
01:06:23Great agility that time, landing on the apron.
01:06:25Behind you, Mike.
01:06:26Wall Street, right hand, Mr. Wall Street.
01:06:29Gets his neck yanked to the top rope.
01:06:32Here's to me, the Dow Joneses are down a bit.
01:06:34I believe so.
01:06:35Jericho, so much vigor and fire in this young man.
01:06:39Oh!
01:06:40With a drop kick.
01:06:41A missile drop kick like he caught it, Mike, today earlier.
01:06:44And down goes M. Wall Street.
01:06:47And it was on target.
01:06:48Look at Wall Street, heads out to the floor,
01:06:50trying to slow down this offensive attack of Jericho.
01:06:54And that's what he's doing.
01:06:55That's what he has to do.
01:06:58Uh-oh.
01:06:59Head first.
01:07:00He lured him on the outside that time, guys.
01:07:04It seemed as if he was down and out,
01:07:07but he just wanted Jericho down with him,
01:07:09and there you see the results.
01:07:10Well, he's a veteran.
01:07:11He knows what to do in that ring.
01:07:12Jericho will learn.
01:07:13If he does, he does.
01:07:14If he don't, he don't.
01:07:15Only he'll know it.
01:07:16No, and that's one of the reasons he's been successful, Mike.
01:07:19He has learned from his mistakes.
01:07:21He has lost matches.
01:07:22Look at that small package.
01:07:24He got it!
01:07:25He got him!
01:07:27That's what you call learning from your mistakes.
01:07:31Taking the advantage, seizing the moment.
01:07:34That's why he's called Lionheart.
01:07:36It's not because of a head of hair.
01:07:38It's because the fans love him,
01:07:40because he is 110% energy,
01:07:44and he's a winner in WCW brains.
01:07:46Ah, shut up.
01:07:48Let me get a look at this, and I can tell what he's done.
01:07:50I can tell if he had his foot on the rope.
01:07:52I can tell if the man had his shoulder up.
01:07:54I'll be the judge of this.
01:07:55Jericho off that top rope.
01:07:57Nails him right in the mush
01:07:59with a big, big, powerful drop kick.
01:08:01Wall Street, smart enough to get outside the ring,
01:08:03gets back in.
01:08:04He hooks him to the small package.
01:08:06One, two, three,
01:08:07and I believe Jericho did have a handful of tights,
01:08:10or he wouldn't be running away.
01:08:11Your winner, Chris Jericho.
01:08:13You sound like Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
01:08:14He's a liar.
01:08:15I'm not.
01:08:16I'm the brain.
01:08:17Let's go to Mike today.
01:08:18He's a liar.
01:08:19Thank you very much, Tony.
01:08:20The center of controversy in world championship wrestling
01:08:23remains senior official Nick Patrick
01:08:26and Mr. Patrick.
01:08:28Before we learn anything from last week there, Mr. Tanae,
01:08:31you talk to me.
01:08:32I'm the legal counsel, okay?
01:08:35Listen here.
01:08:37Everybody here and everybody at home knows it.
01:08:40Nick Patrick, there is nothing wrong with your neck.
01:08:44All right, doctor.
01:08:47And on top of that,
01:08:48you are a paid employee of the NWO,
01:08:53and we all know that, too.
01:08:55He puts a mask on on Saturday.
01:08:57Referees are magister sharp.
01:08:59You don't know that.
01:09:00Mr. Jericho, your wall does appear to be tumbling down.
01:09:06Is it not true, Mr. Jericho,
01:09:08that your father was an NHL hockey goon?
01:09:13Is that not true, Mr. Jericho?
01:09:16We won't go there.
01:09:17This has nothing to do with my father.
01:09:19This is between you, you, and me,
01:09:22and everybody else here!
01:09:25I went, Tanae, I went to a fight the other day
01:09:29and a hockey game broke out.
01:09:31I've got one thing to say right now.
01:09:33Everybody saw earlier what the outsiders did to Ice Train.
01:09:37They beat him in the back of the head with those belts.
01:09:40You stood there.
01:09:41You did nothing about it.
01:09:42Then Dallas Payne took advantage of it
01:09:44by catching him with the diamond cutter.
01:09:46He may be back there right now needing medical attention.
01:09:49Nick Patrick, not only are you a player hater,
01:09:52but you're with the NWO.
01:09:54I know it.
01:09:55Your attorney knows it.
01:09:56And this young man on his way to becoming another superstar,
01:10:00you've become a thorn in his side.
01:10:03I know it, Patrick.
01:10:05Wow, look at that.
01:10:06Teddy Long.
01:10:07Of all the people to be talking about character,
01:10:11shouldn't it be you, Teddy Long?
01:10:13Because if I am correct,
01:10:16a few years ago you were a referee
01:10:19that was suspended in WCW for some infractions.
01:10:24What do you have to say about that, Teddy Long?
01:10:27We're not talking about past mistakes here.
01:10:31Everybody has mistakes in their past.
01:10:33What we are talking about is the present, the here and now.
01:10:36And mistake, Nick Patrick, what you're doing is not a mistake.
01:10:40It's a premeditated plan against everybody at WCW.
01:10:45And I think that says it all.
01:10:47Tony, take it away.
01:10:48Now, wouldn't you know, the eve of Election Day,
01:10:50as the NWO watches on, Dirk would be flying here.
01:10:53Well, did you hear Teddy Long say,
01:10:54I, I, I, I?
01:10:55He has more eyes than a premium optical.
01:10:58We will be back.
01:11:00I, I, I, I.
01:11:01Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh.
01:11:03What were they watching?
01:11:04Well, he can stutter, can't he?
01:11:06And what are they waiting on?
01:11:07What do you think?
01:11:08We're waiting on the phone call from Eric Bischoff.
01:11:10Come on back with us.
01:11:11We have a return match here on Nitro
01:11:17between Booker T and the total package Lex Luger.
01:11:20Last week, there was a count out,
01:11:22and it all occurred because Sting made his appearance
01:11:25early in the show last week on WCW Monday Nitro.
01:11:29There you see Sting, and this was earlier in the night.
01:11:31Sting watching much the same way he has done tonight.
01:11:34Very mysterious, very dark, and Sting was there.
01:11:38Then later on, when Luger was facing Booker T,
01:11:41there was Sting again.
01:11:43You know this one had purpose.
01:11:44They are very, or have been in the past, very close friends.
01:11:47Luger saw it.
01:11:48Luger walked away from the match.
01:11:50Tony looks to me like Sting is stalking Luger.
01:11:53I mean, he's got very, very tormented makeup on.
01:11:57He doesn't have his Sting look, the different colors.
01:12:00And look at him.
01:12:01There is a man driven by I don't know what,
01:12:03by hatred, by despair, by people turning their back on him.
01:12:06And what's Luger going to do?
01:12:07Is he wants to shake his hand, talk to him?
01:12:09Who knows?
01:12:10Well, he lost the match last week when he left Sting
01:12:13left.
01:12:14He followed Sting out, and Booker T gets the win by count out.
01:12:19And therefore, the WCW Championship Committee
01:12:22has signed Booker T, Lex Luger.
01:12:24And you take a look at our jam-packed capacity crowd
01:12:28here in downtown Grand Rapids.
01:12:30And our thanks to all the great fans
01:12:32for their hospitality here in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
01:12:35They are WCW Nitro Red Hot Brew and Brew.
01:12:42No doubt about that.
01:12:43They've been jammed up here all day long to get in.
01:12:46And now we're going to see Booker T here, of the Harlem Heat,
01:12:49along with Sister Sherry, try to take Lex Luger apart piece
01:12:54by piece.
01:12:55But where's Colonel Parker?
01:12:56Yeah!
01:12:57Lex Luger!
01:12:58He's conspicuous by his outfit.
01:12:59Don't stand today, sucker!
01:13:01You've been ignored, just like last week!
01:13:04Now take your ticket!
01:13:06And our fans can watch WCW main event Saturday mornings
01:13:10at 9.05 Eastern on TBS.
01:13:12You saw the footage of how Colonel Robert Parker caused
01:13:16Harlem Heat to lose the World Tag Team
01:13:19Championship to the Outsiders.
01:13:21Maybe that's a little bit unkind.
01:13:23Actually, he helped in the matters,
01:13:25or he really did help.
01:13:26He hurt matters for Harlem Heat.
01:13:28We saw that on the main event.
01:13:29And I would think, as a result of that,
01:13:31maybe Booker T doesn't even want him out of here, Mike.
01:13:34Well, I think there may be trouble in paradise
01:13:36when it comes to the Harlem Heat camp,
01:13:38especially as it goes to the leadership
01:13:40or the managerial roles with Sherry and Parker.
01:13:44All right, the total package Lex Luger.
01:13:47You gotta wonder what's on his mind.
01:13:49Luger, as much as anyone else,
01:13:51feels he should get the shot at the World Heavyweight Title
01:13:55and would love, as much as anyone else,
01:13:58to get the chance to face Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
01:14:01But to get there, to get the first shot at the World Title,
01:14:05he must go through 59 other men
01:14:08on Sunday, the 24th of November, at World War III.
01:14:12And I think you would have to make Lex Luger
01:14:14one of the favorites as well as we head into that event
01:14:17if you can actually make a favorite
01:14:19in an event as outrageous as a three-ring 60-man battle royal.
01:14:22He's been very aggressive, but what's been on his mind?
01:14:25Let's hear these pre-recorded comments
01:14:27from the total package Lex Luger.
01:14:31Stinger, I have no idea where you're coming from these days,
01:14:34I've left calls, messages, all unanswered.
01:14:38I've even chased after you through crowds at Nitro.
01:14:42But I gotta hope and pray
01:14:44that these bogus overtures made by the NWO
01:14:48are falling on those same deaf ears.
01:14:51Stinger, if you can hang out in the rafters,
01:14:54you gotta have just one minute,
01:14:56just one minute of your time
01:14:58for me to sit down with you face-to-face.
01:15:00That's all I ask.
01:15:02Key point right there, gentlemen,
01:15:04bogus overtures by the NWO.
01:15:06When you strip it all away, we've apologized to Sting,
01:15:10he's apparently not accepted.
01:15:12But the NWO recruiting Sting,
01:15:15actively wanting Sting to be in their camp,
01:15:17that cannot happen to world championship wrestlers.
01:15:20Tony, let me ask you something right now.
01:15:22He's a member of them, he's got to be.
01:15:24He usually wears yellow, he wears red, he wears white,
01:15:27he wears blue, all those colors.
01:15:29What has he been wearing for the last couple of years?
01:15:31We have made that mistake once before.
01:15:33What's he been wearing?
01:15:34Black and white, the colors of the NWO.
01:15:37Okay, so what?
01:15:38Well, look, we're the ones that pushed him over the edge
01:15:40with those kind of accusations.
01:15:42I never did.
01:15:43And you're starting again.
01:15:44I did not.
01:15:45You are starting again.
01:15:46Get up.
01:15:47Take your coat off.
01:15:48It's not between us, it's between them and the ring.
01:15:51Leave me alone.
01:15:52Never thought I'd miss Bischoff.
01:15:54Pick up.
01:15:55We're gonna be hearing from Eric.
01:15:57A little bit later on.
01:15:58Down he goes.
01:16:00And Lex Luger, the intensity that we saw
01:16:02at Slim Jim's Halloween Havoc
01:16:04that put Arne Anderson in the hospital,
01:16:06is back once again with the tunnel package,
01:16:08the elbow into the floor.
01:16:11Ladies and gentlemen, we've got to step out for a break.
01:16:14If something happens in the ring or in the stands,
01:16:17we'll show you on this to replay.
01:16:19But if not, back with more live on Nitro.
01:16:22Stay with us.
01:16:25Welcome back to a jam-packed two hours
01:16:28of exciting action and intrigue
01:16:30that is only one place, TNT and WCW Monday Night Show.
01:16:34Ladies and gentlemen, I know you're waiting
01:16:36because we are waiting to hear from Eric Bischoff.
01:16:39The match the world wants to see.
01:16:41On the verge of being signed,
01:16:43Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper.
01:16:46And we hope to hear from Eric any minute now.
01:16:48Here's Lex Luger.
01:16:51One, two, and no!
01:16:53Didn't get it.
01:16:55Tell you what, some of the characteristics you're seeing
01:16:58that has made Booker T a perennial
01:17:00one half of the World Tag Team Championship.
01:17:03There's been talk about Lex Luger, the tunnel package,
01:17:06having that unrealized potential.
01:17:08Well, if the events of the last couple of weeks
01:17:10have anything to say, he may have finally realized
01:17:12that potential now, even though he is in trouble
01:17:14against Booker T.
01:17:16I don't think so.
01:17:18Well, I think Luger's always relied on his friend Sting
01:17:21in tag matches.
01:17:23And now that he's on his own,
01:17:25I think he realized he's gonna have to kick it up a notch.
01:17:28He's gonna have to shift gears a bit here.
01:17:30Isn't it amazing how far,
01:17:32the scissor kick in the back of the head,
01:17:34how far we've come, how things have changed
01:17:36over the course of a year?
01:17:38It wasn't too long ago we were pointing fingers at Lex Luger,
01:17:41blaming him of things, being on Sting's side.
01:17:44Now we've come a long way.
01:17:46Being on Sting's side.
01:17:48Now we are solidly behind Luger.
01:17:50He has shown us over the past couple of months
01:17:53where his heart is, where his guts are,
01:17:56and we are wondering about Sting.
01:17:58Where does he stand?
01:18:00Well, there's nothing like cheering
01:18:02to kick a man when he's down.
01:18:04I'll tell you, there's so much importance
01:18:06going on here right now.
01:18:08World War III coming to be.
01:18:1060-man battle royal for the championship.
01:18:12The winner gets a shot at Hogan.
01:18:14Trying to negotiate a deal now with Piper.
01:18:16I mean, don't move that dial.
01:18:18You don't want to miss a thing that's happening here.
01:18:20You can't miss it.
01:18:22This is the place to be.
01:18:24So good to have you with us.
01:18:26We are the one. We are the hour.
01:18:28That ran them all away.
01:18:309-10 every Monday night on Nitro.
01:18:35And our first hour, 8-9 with you and Larry.
01:18:37How about that?
01:18:40And right now, Booker T
01:18:42without Stevie Ray in ringside.
01:18:44As you said, no Colonel Parker, Mike.
01:18:46Here's a cover, one, two.
01:18:48A little bit too much showboating.
01:18:50You can't do that against Lex Luger.
01:18:52Well, I think that there may be a positive
01:18:54in not having Colonel Parker at ringside.
01:18:56It's almost that case of addition by...
01:18:58Oh!
01:19:01Scream like that hurt you.
01:19:03Oh, when you've been this close to the sport like I have
01:19:06and you've managed people and you've been in that ring,
01:19:08you know what they're going through.
01:19:10You can feel that pain.
01:19:12Into the ropes.
01:19:14Oh, he missed.
01:19:16And he is in trouble.
01:19:18You know, for 50 cents,
01:19:20you can do that outside of a K-Mart on a wooden horse.
01:19:22Yeah.
01:19:24But it's not the reaction you get
01:19:26inside the jam-packed arena.
01:19:28No, but you feel a lot better.
01:19:30I guess you would.
01:19:32Most anything would feel better than that.
01:19:34Into the ropes we go.
01:19:36Oh!
01:19:38Lex Luger!
01:19:40And they're standing in Grand Rapids.
01:19:42Will he get him up?
01:19:44No, no, no.
01:19:46That's a great move by Booker T.
01:19:48He knew where he was.
01:19:50A year ago, he wouldn't have known that.
01:19:52Booker T, tremendous defensive wrestling there.
01:19:54And how about that?
01:19:56Spin-wheel kick,
01:19:58and it was right in the mouth.
01:20:00Wait a minute, that's Parker at ringside.
01:20:02Colonel Parker hugging Sister Sharon.
01:20:04Back to the love boat.
01:20:06What is...
01:20:08He comes out now
01:20:10to cheer the man on.
01:20:12Come, Sharon.
01:20:14Wow, what an enziguri kick
01:20:16by Booker T,
01:20:18and Luger is out.
01:20:20You're exactly right.
01:20:22And Parker is up on the apron.
01:20:24He's telling Booker T to jump on him.
01:20:26He's excited about this match,
01:20:28and Booker T has had enough
01:20:30of Colonel Robin Parker.
01:20:32Luger, back in the head rob.
01:20:34One, two, three.
01:20:36Don't blame Parker for this.
01:20:38What?
01:20:40Don't blame Parker for this.
01:20:42Who else you gonna blame?
01:20:44Parker went up to help his man,
01:20:46and Booker T turned on him.
01:20:48Booker T made the mistake.
01:20:50Would you look at Sharon?
01:20:52Watch this.
01:20:54I don't think there's love in her eyes.
01:20:56Let's see if we can listen in here.
01:20:58And look who's watching on.
01:21:00Not moving a muscle.
01:21:02The dark side of Sting.
01:21:04It is very scary.
01:21:06It's frightening to see where he could go.
01:21:08Where will he go?
01:21:10I don't know.
01:21:12Fans, we're gonna hear from Eric Bischoff
01:21:14when we come back.
01:21:16Stay with us.
01:21:18Don't you dare go away.
01:21:22All right, fans.
01:21:24We welcome you back live here to WCW
01:21:26Monday Night, y'all.
01:21:28Eric Bischoff has a broadcasting career
01:21:30in doing world championship wrestling
01:21:32and years before that, doing the NWA.
01:21:34Can I remember a time where there's been
01:21:36so much talk, so much excitement
01:21:38based on one match?
01:21:40And that's because of what this match means
01:21:42not only to us, but to the entire
01:21:44wrestling world.
01:21:46And as we said this weekend on all of our
01:21:48television programs on TBS,
01:21:50Eric Bischoff was on his way to Portland, Oregon
01:21:52in the contract negotiations
01:21:54to sign the match, and we do believe
01:21:56Eric Bischoff on the telephone right now.
01:21:58Eric, I know it's been a very busy weekend
01:22:00for you. I know it's been a very trying time
01:22:02for you.
01:22:04Do we have Eric on at this time?
01:22:06Yeah, Tony, I've got you.
01:22:08Eric, I know it's been a very trying
01:22:10time. I know you've been in negotiations.
01:22:12How are things going right now between you
01:22:14and Rowdy Roddy Piper?
01:22:16Well, things are going extremely well
01:22:18between myself and Roddy Piper,
01:22:20and I'd like to be able to announce here to the crowd
01:22:22and all the people watching coast-to-coast
01:22:24that we have a match signed. Unfortunately,
01:22:26as well as things are going between Roddy Piper
01:22:28and myself, and as much as I think deep down
01:22:30inside, he really would love an opportunity
01:22:32to get into the ring with Hulk Hogan,
01:22:34unfortunately,
01:22:36Roddy Piper, like a lot of
01:22:38top athletes, and
01:22:40in his case, actors,
01:22:42have agents, and they have attorneys,
01:22:44and unfortunately, I have to report that
01:22:46things are not going as well as
01:22:48I would have hoped with Roddy Piper's
01:22:50management. Let's just put it that way.
01:22:52What's the hang-up, Eric? Is it
01:22:54money? Is there something
01:22:56you can point to that's the one hang-up that
01:22:58you're having right now? No, there's no one thing.
01:23:00Like I said, deep down inside, I know
01:23:02Piper would love to do it, but I'm not
01:23:04exactly sure if it's a WCW
01:23:06thing or if it's because of
01:23:08movie commitments. I'm not exactly sure.
01:23:10I wasn't able to pin his management
01:23:12down. I just got stonewalled three or four times
01:23:14over the weekend and then again today.
01:23:16I do want to let everybody know, though, that I am scheduled
01:23:18to fly to Toronto next Tuesday
01:23:20to continue conversations
01:23:22with Roddy, so maybe I'll get a little
01:23:24farther with Roddy Piper than I did with his management.
01:23:26Well, I think they realize, and I'm talking
01:23:28about Roddy Piper's people, the magnitude
01:23:30of this match, and my feeling,
01:23:32guys, is realizing what it means
01:23:34to the sport. That's why he's getting the stonewall.
01:23:36Eric, would you agree with that?
01:23:38I would agree with that, and again,
01:23:40hopefully next Tuesday when I can sit down with
01:23:42Roddy on the set of his
01:23:44latest movie, we can sit down and we can talk about it.
01:23:46I can find out from him because his management
01:23:48works for him, he doesn't work for them,
01:23:50and hopefully we'll be able to get this thing resolved
01:23:52because I know a lot of people, based on
01:23:54faxes and emails and internet,
01:23:56a lot of people would love to see this match.
01:23:58It would be the match of a decade,
01:24:00and I have to say this, and I hope Roddy doesn't
01:24:02take this offensively, but these two guys both
01:24:04have egos the size of Mount Hood
01:24:06as I look at the situation here.
01:24:08Eric? Yeah. Bobby Heenan.
01:24:10You know what Hogan's going to do, don't you?
01:24:12He's going to spread the word to everybody
01:24:14that Piper's hiding behind attorneys,
01:24:16and he's told his attorneys to make excuses.
01:24:18You know the kind of liar Hogan is, that's what he's going to do.
01:24:20Well, who knows what's going
01:24:22through Hogan's mind, I certainly don't.
01:24:24Well, the match has not been signed yet, but Eric, we all know you,
01:24:26and we know you will work until that match gets signed,
01:24:28so stay with it, okay? I'll do my best.
01:24:30Alright, Eric Bischoff, executive producer
01:24:32of World Championship Wrestling with us.
01:24:34I'm going to go back now.
01:24:36Roddy Piper said, he told Eric Bischoff
01:24:38not too long ago he wanted five minutes
01:24:40with Hulk Hogan. He got his
01:24:42five minutes at the end
01:24:44of Slim Jim's Halloween Havoc.
01:24:46Remember this, fans.
01:24:50I'm tired of Ted Turner.
01:24:52I'm taking over
01:24:54the WCW.
01:24:56Everybody that
01:24:58gets in the ring with the
01:25:00NWO
01:25:02or Hollywood Hulk
01:25:04Hogan is going down.
01:25:06And all
01:25:08I got to say,
01:25:10NWO-ites,
01:25:12you definitely caught
01:25:14the right train because we're
01:25:16heading out of town. What you
01:25:18going to do?
01:25:42What you going to do?
01:26:12Woo!
01:26:14Woo!
01:26:16Woo!
01:26:18Woo!
01:26:20Woo!
01:26:22Woo!
01:26:24Woo!
01:26:26Woo!
01:26:28Woo!
01:26:30Woo!
01:26:32Woo!
01:26:34Woo!
01:26:36Woo!
01:26:38Woo!
01:26:40Woo!
01:26:42Woo!
01:26:44Woo!
01:26:46Woo!
01:26:48Don't even
01:26:50think about it.
01:26:52Woo!
01:26:54Woo!
01:26:56Woo!
01:26:58Hi.
01:27:00Hi.
01:27:02So
01:27:04you're bored, are you?
01:27:06Woo!
01:27:08Woo!
01:27:10I've come here
01:27:12to break your monotony!
01:27:14Woo!
01:27:16Woo!
01:27:18Hey, Sprout! Sprout!
01:27:20Why don't you just head back
01:27:22with the Jolly Green Giant and take a break?
01:27:24Woo!
01:27:26Woo!
01:27:28Woo!
01:27:30You know what, Mr. Piper?
01:27:32There's a big
01:27:34lack of communication here
01:27:36because when I said
01:27:38that I made wrestling,
01:27:40when I said that I
01:27:42own wrestling and I
01:27:44control wrestling,
01:27:46now that I really think about it,
01:27:48I remember
01:27:50that you and I were running
01:27:52neck and neck.
01:27:54Why don't you shut up for a second?
01:27:56It's my turn.
01:27:58Be careful.
01:28:00I am not here
01:28:02to represent the
01:28:04N-U-C-W,
01:28:06the N-W-A,
01:28:08the S-P-C-A,
01:28:10the S-O-B, although I can be
01:28:12one S-O-B when I
01:28:14want to be!
01:28:18Be careful.
01:28:20Be real careful.
01:28:24Yeah, I made a lot
01:28:26of money being real careful.
01:28:28I'll tell you
01:28:30something there, Charlie Brown.
01:28:34You've been saying that if it wasn't for you,
01:28:36professional
01:28:38wrestling wouldn't be what it is today.
01:28:40Boy, do I
01:28:42got news for you!
01:28:44I come to you for a reality
01:28:46check there, partner.
01:28:48I come because, you see,
01:28:50I'm just as big an icon
01:28:52in this sport
01:28:54as you are.
01:29:00I am just as big
01:29:02a Hollywood movie star
01:29:04as you are!
01:29:10You know,
01:29:12let me have my piece because I'm shooting
01:29:14with this one, folks. I don't care,
01:29:16man. I'm a multi-millionaire
01:29:18too.
01:29:20I started fighting pro
01:29:22when I was 15 years old.
01:29:24I've had over 6,000
01:29:26professional matches. I've been
01:29:28stabbed three times.
01:29:30Hello.
01:29:34Sit back, Sprout. Sit back.
01:29:38Wait a second.
01:29:40Shut your mouth!
01:29:42Hang on. Let me have the floor.
01:29:44I've caught your act.
01:29:48Where were you
01:29:50when I was 15 years old
01:29:52taking on outcomers in a
01:29:54garage? Where were you? Playing the
01:29:56bass guitar in Tootsie's Bar and
01:29:58Grill? Huh?
01:30:02Where were you? Shut up,
01:30:04man. You know something, Piper?
01:30:06I'm gonna call a
01:30:08spade a spade.
01:30:10We ran together
01:30:12the heck with a backstory.
01:30:14We fought together
01:30:16and I don't have a problem with you
01:30:18because, okay,
01:30:20as you've been out in Hollywood
01:30:22making all those movies
01:30:24and becoming a multi-millionaire,
01:30:26I have to think
01:30:28back and give the devil his
01:30:30due. We ran neck
01:30:32and neck. No, no,
01:30:34not yet. Not yet. Not yet. Not yet.
01:30:36You remember Wrestlemania?
01:30:44Tell me something.
01:30:46If I hadn't knocked out Mr. T,
01:30:48took on the New York City
01:30:50Police Department, chased Dick
01:30:52Clark back, had my way with
01:30:54Tamarachi, if they didn't hate me
01:30:56so much, you think they would've been
01:30:58cheering you so much?
01:31:02Shut up. I ain't finished.
01:31:08Do you know
01:31:10what bothers you?
01:31:12I'm the only guy
01:31:14who have
01:31:16never been able to beat.
01:31:20He's right.
01:31:22And I'll tell you something else.
01:31:24You're going to admit it.
01:31:26I am as big an icon
01:31:28in this sport and whether you want
01:31:30to say it or not, you at least have
01:31:32the guts to put your hand
01:31:34out and you shake my hand
01:31:36and you admit
01:31:38that it isn't you that
01:31:40brought all these people here.
01:31:42It's all these people here
01:31:44that made you.
01:31:46Now,
01:31:48I'll be glad to.
01:31:50Let me tell you something,
01:31:52Piper. We've had wars
01:31:54to settle the score
01:31:56which didn't get settled
01:31:58and I thought you
01:32:00took off with your family
01:32:02and were at peace with yourself.
01:32:04But now that I see you face to face,
01:32:06me being
01:32:08the honest man that I am,
01:32:10yes, I admit
01:32:12you're just
01:32:14as big a superstar
01:32:16as I am.
01:32:24Then straighten up.
01:32:30Oh, by the way, Piper,
01:32:32on the way out,
01:32:34when you go to the bathroom, you're supposed to squat
01:32:36in that one.
01:32:38Wow.
01:32:42Well, I'll tell you what.
01:32:44Let me tell you
01:32:46something. No, I've had enough.
01:32:48Let me tell you something.
01:32:50You're messing
01:32:52with Hollywood, Hogan, and NWO.
01:32:54You step back
01:32:56into my world,
01:32:58I can still see you've got the makeup
01:33:00on your face, Piper.
01:33:02And the way it goes,
01:33:04now that I look in your eyes,
01:33:06maybe we need to have
01:33:08the war that didn't settle the score.
01:33:10You want to know something?
01:33:12Yeah, I want to know something.
01:33:14I'm the reason you've got no hair
01:33:16and what you're going to do about it?
01:33:18Your day's coming, Piper.
01:33:20Well, Hollywood, Hulk Hogan
01:33:22said it was the war to settle the score.
01:33:24And Eric Bischoff diligently
01:33:26working now to sign that match.
01:33:28We hope to have an update
01:33:30this weekend.
01:33:32All of our television programs,
01:33:34beginning with the main event,
01:33:36going on to Saturday night
01:33:38and on to Sunday night on WCW Pro
01:33:40on TBS. It is the one
01:33:42match the world
01:33:44wants to see.
01:33:46And I know a man who's very happy
01:33:48that the match is not yet signed.
01:33:50As a matter of fact, he's making his way
01:33:52to the ring right now, we understand.
01:33:54You hear the music.
01:33:56Look at these thugs,
01:33:58would you?
01:34:03Well, we knew this was going to be
01:34:05a very difficult proposition
01:34:07for Eric Bischoff.
01:34:09Let's hope that the sizable egos
01:34:11of these two gentlemen doesn't prevent
01:34:13his...
01:34:15Well, look at him right now,
01:34:17he's celebrating, isn't he?
01:34:19He's still the world champ.
01:34:21He knows that his first title defense
01:34:23is going to be against the winner of World War III
01:34:25and 60 men will fight for that spot.
01:34:27And he realizes right now
01:34:29that negotiations have kind of
01:34:31broken down with Eric Bischoff
01:34:33and Roddy Piper's people
01:34:35and he realizes that he doesn't have to
01:34:37concern himself with Piper.
01:34:39And he realizes the most important thing in his life.
01:34:41That Piper's in Point Lennar again
01:34:43and he's in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
01:34:45And he's got all his goons with him, he's got the Giant.
01:34:47Realize, it seems he doesn't go anywhere
01:34:49without the Giant now.
01:34:51There's strength in numbers and that's been what we've seen
01:34:53from the NWO since day one.
01:34:55If you're looking for the truth,
01:34:57I can only tell you right now
01:34:59you're not going to find it in the ring.
01:35:09I'd like to hook him up to a light detector
01:35:11and let him talk.
01:35:13Minus 24.
01:35:15Hey guys!
01:35:17Did you feel
01:35:19the metal go through the roof up there?
01:35:21It's time
01:35:23for Hollywood, boys.
01:35:25So dim those lights
01:35:27Hit me with a spotlight
01:35:29and make me feel
01:35:31I'm right out in Hollywood, California.
01:35:41But you know
01:35:45Trillionaire Ted,
01:35:47now that I think about Hollywood,
01:35:49there's a real big party going on
01:35:51on the 16th of November.
01:35:53That's the Cable Ace Awards.
01:35:55And as of yet, Trillionaire Ted,
01:35:57I don't have my invitation.
01:35:59Matter of fact,
01:36:01nobody in the NWO does.
01:36:03But especially Hollywood
01:36:05doesn't have his invitation.
01:36:07And you know something?
01:36:09I also know
01:36:11that Ted Turner is going to be sitting
01:36:13in the front row
01:36:15at the Cable Ace Awards.
01:36:17Well let me tell you something,
01:36:19Billionaire Ted,
01:36:21Billionaire Ted,
01:36:23not Trillionaire Ted,
01:36:25Billionaire Ted Turner,
01:36:27if I don't get nominated
01:36:29for the Cable Ace Awards,
01:36:31I am the man
01:36:33that made you what you are.
01:36:35I'm the reason Nitro
01:36:37is the hottest cable show in the country.
01:36:39And Ted Turner,
01:36:41if Hollywood Hogan
01:36:43doesn't win
01:36:45a Cable Ace Award,
01:36:47even if I don't get an invitation,
01:36:49I'll crash the party
01:36:51and I'll take yours away from you,
01:36:53Ted Turner, you little chump.
01:36:55He can win Goon of the Year,
01:36:57I can tell you that.
01:36:59Now to wrestling
01:37:01matters at hand.
01:37:03The whole world
01:37:05is wearing black and white
01:37:07with NWO all over it.
01:37:11Hollywood Hogan
01:37:13is the world's heavyweight
01:37:15champion at the top of the ladder.
01:37:17And you know something?
01:37:19Not only am I a champion
01:37:21in the ring, I'm a champion
01:37:23in front of the camera.
01:37:25And when I saw Roddy Piper
01:37:27in Las Vegas a week ago,
01:37:29I did everything
01:37:31I could to lead
01:37:33that little sissy with a skirt on
01:37:35to slaughter.
01:37:37I put on the greatest act
01:37:39of my acting career,
01:37:41trying to get him in the ring
01:37:43with me, trying to get him
01:37:45to make a move, Trillionaire Ted.
01:37:47I did everything
01:37:49except lay on my back,
01:37:51begging for Rowdy Roddy
01:37:53Piper, the man that wears
01:37:55the mini skirt, to step up
01:37:57to the plate and fight me.
01:37:59But as I brought
01:38:01the lamb to slaughter,
01:38:03little did I know,
01:38:05Piper had no heart.
01:38:07So apparently,
01:38:09Rowdy Roddy Piper
01:38:11is scared to wrestle
01:38:13Hollywood.
01:38:15Apparently, Rowdy
01:38:17Roddy Piper doesn't
01:38:19have this much of
01:38:21Hollywood's guts.
01:38:23So you can probably find him
01:38:25sitting next to the Macho Man
01:38:27at their favorite rest home somewhere.
01:38:31From this day
01:38:33forward, Hollywood
01:38:35Hogan is your master.
01:38:37From this day forward,
01:38:39Hollywood Hogan will be
01:38:41the NWO Heavyweight Champion.
01:38:43And now,
01:38:45this hand with muscles, next week
01:38:47will be box office.
01:38:49I guess it's that time,
01:38:51Trillionaire Ted.
01:38:53That's right, Hollywood, one more
01:38:55time. And since
01:38:57the fans loved it so much last
01:38:59week, and since
01:39:01Hollywood appreciates
01:39:03your undying support for
01:39:05the NWO, he's gonna entertain
01:39:07you one more time.
01:39:09Go ahead, Hollywood. Let him have it.
01:39:11The negotiations
01:39:13continue for Hollywood
01:39:15Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper.
01:39:17It would be
01:39:19the match of the decade.
01:39:21You are looking at one happy man
01:39:23right there, Hollywood Hulk Hogan,
01:39:25gentlemen.
01:39:27Well, Shivani, there's a guy right there.
01:39:29There's a jerk right there
01:39:31that thinks he owns the world. He thinks
01:39:33he's better than White Bread.
01:39:35He thinks he's got a cure for everything.
01:39:37He thinks he made this sport. His problem
01:39:39is, he thinks too much.
01:39:41He only lies
01:39:43when his lips move.
01:39:45No question about it. He has to hire a guy to call
01:39:47his dog. His dog don't even believe him.
01:39:55For Mike Tenay, Bobby Healy,
01:39:57and Larry Zbysko, good night, everybody. Ho-ho.
