00:00:46Hi everyone, along with the Living Legend, Larry Zubisco, I am Tony Schiavone, and as
00:00:51always, two jam-packed hours.
00:00:54Of course, Eric Bischoff and Bobby the Great Hater will be with you for hour number two.
00:00:58In that hour number two, Larry Zubisco heading to the Great American Bash, Arn Anderson and
00:01:04the Nature Boy, Ric Flair, against a newcomer.
00:01:07We're going to hear a lot about Joe Gomez and the Renegade.
00:01:09Well, Joe Gomez and the Renegade, two nitro-dites here, neophytic wrestlers, but they get a
00:01:15chance here on the hottest show in professional wrestling.
00:01:19Unfortunately, they're going in against two masters, Arn Anderson and Ric Flair.
00:01:23Arn Anderson and Ric Flair are going to put on a clinic tonight.
00:01:26I just hope, for their own benefit, that Dumbo McMichaels and his partner, Kevin Running
00:01:33Dummy Green, are going to be watching.
00:01:35They're going to need all the knowledge they can get.
00:01:38Along with their coach, the Macho Man, Randy Savage, I might add.
00:01:41Also, fans, we want to talk about, later in this telecast, in the second hour, the Giant
00:01:47and Scott Norton one-on-one.
00:01:49Again, Scott Norton, a man that impressed me, but now I think he's getting more of that
00:01:53football mentality.
00:01:54He hasn't learned from the first beating at the hands of the Giant.
00:01:58Tonight, Tony, mark my words, he's going to get chokeslammed again.
00:02:03Fans, for the past two weeks, we have been rudely interrupted here on WCW Monday Nitro.
00:02:08I think it bears repeating to go back and show you exactly what happened as we closed
00:02:12the program last week, the first time ever in this sport.

00:03:27We're starting out with a great one-on-one matchup.
00:03:30Two of the great tag team wrestlers going at it in single competition.
00:03:35And I tell you, one thing that separates World Championship Wrestling from everyone else
00:03:40is that the greatest athletes in the world are here in the greatest competition in the world,
00:03:45live, each and every Monday.

00:03:49And look at the fans, they are living.
00:03:52It's going to be a fascinating match right here.
00:03:54Like you said, tag team wrestlers on their own going single one-on-one.
00:03:58But Booker T, in my book, is one of the most phenomenal athletes I've ever seen.
00:04:04This guy, he can defy gravity, Tony.
00:04:07And on the other side of that coin, Scott Steiner.
00:04:10Younger of the Steiner brothers, but I think the more emotional.
00:04:15This one could explode, but I'm known with Booker T.
00:04:18Here's your opponent, from Detroit, Michigan, Scott Steiner!
00:04:23There you have it, Scott Steiner and Booker T of Island Heat, one-on-one.
00:04:27This is only the opening bout.

00:05:05Like we said, two phenomenal athletes.
00:05:07Both are very similar, and they like to use the power.
00:05:10Well, it's a little different here.
00:05:11Scott Steiner, maybe a better wrestler on the map.
00:05:14But Booker T, like I said, this guy can defy gravity.
00:05:16Look at the move, reverse there, found an opening.
00:05:18Got Scottie.
00:05:20How about that?
00:05:21I think he surprised Scott Steiner with that takedown.
00:05:23Scott complaining about the hair,
00:05:25and Booker T probably readily admits using the hair.
00:05:29But as far as he's concerned, let's scrap it out here, and that's what's happening.
00:05:34Into the ropes to the far side.
00:05:35Look at that power.
00:05:36Look at the upper body strength of Scott Steiner, if you will.
00:05:39And a clubbing forearm right between the shoulder blades.
00:05:42Well, Booker T sent a telegram.
00:05:43Scottie's got him hooked to the back slide if he can drop down.
00:05:47But see, Booker's bringing his weight back over too far,
00:05:50so Scott can't drop down on it.
00:05:52That's a good blocking technique by Booker T here.

00:11:11with that high-wrist maneuver,
00:11:13knocked the wind out of himself,
00:11:14but it was that cradle at the end,
00:11:16right after this nice belly-to-back suplex,
00:11:19but Scotty Steiner, center on the mat,
00:11:21knows the importance of hooking that leg
00:11:23in with the arm, and has gotten the victory.
