00:00The Agriculture Department is preparing for the emergency procurement of vaccines against African swine fever in the face of the spread of ASF in Batangas.
00:12According to Agriculture Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr., the local government should declare a state of emergency to give way to the agency's response.
00:27He will expedite the procurement of vaccines against ASF under the Emergency Procurement Act.
00:34It is expected that 10,000 vaccines will be distributed in Batangas.
00:39The Department of Health explained that even though the D.A. will continue to stop the spread of ASF by implementing strict biosecurity,
00:51the virus will still spread.
00:53Aside from vaccines, industrial lime or apong will also be distributed to the pigs affected by ASF
01:03to stop the latest spread of the disease from the pigs that were slaughtered.
01:11Police and military checkpoints have also been ordered to avoid the release of pigs that may be affected by ASF.
01:22That is why the town of Lobo in Batangas declared a state of calamity because of ASF.
