00:16Arrested the 12 Chinese nationals in the negotiation of the NBI Special Task Force on August 6.

00:23They are facing a violation of the Cyber Crime Prevention Act.

00:26They were said to be helped, hurt, tortured, and forced to go crazy online by the Chinese informant of the NBI.

00:33The victim's partner loved the scammer, and in the process, he took money.

00:38He was beaten, he was shot with a gun, and he was electrocuted.

00:41After that, he took 500,000 pesos in exchange for his liberty.

00:46He only paid 300,000 pesos, and after that, he was released.

00:50He was threatened that if he reported to the police, he would be killed.

00:55According to the PNP, more than 21,000 cases of cybercrime were recorded in 2023.

01:01More than 8,000 from January to July 4 of this year.

01:05But according to the PNP, the incidents of cybercrime are decreasing.

01:10The impact of these initiatives is evident in the reduction of overall crime volume by 14,666 from July 2023 to June 2024.
